@@limo7976 true but why complain. With the combos you can pull, and with there being a chance we get more aspects and abilities, it might as well be a brand new subclass. You cannot tell me this won’t be sick
Yeah Well and Bubble still require solar/void respectively and some of the better aspects just aren't on Prismatic. They definitely didn't go full balls to the walls on powercreep with this one.
TBH I'm cool with the curated aspects/ability selections per class. There's definitely a lot of options here that favor synergy as showcased in the ViDoc, but if you want access to some the most powerful individual abilities you'll still need to go all in on a core subclass. (Banner of War! Bubble! Whatever post-nerf Well is like!) Definitely powerful, but probably not as over-the-top as people thought.
The nerf to Well is that you can't use it on Prismatic Also, while I'm also fine with having a curated selection, there are a few options that I just feel should've also been included, like the hunter's arc slide melee. I love that move, and if you could combine it with the void hunter dive it would give you a great option to get out of the air right after using it. Really play into the idea that hunters are supposed to be super maneuverable, especially since they can blink and use grapple at the same time now. At the very least they need to include the Mask of Bakris dodge as one of the options for the exotic cloak
I am fine with it not being over-the-top. I do not want the other subclasses power crept out of the game. I want there to be more than one endgame viable build that people are forced to use. Curation both ensures other builds are still viable AND ensures there are synergies instead of just leaving everything from every subclass accessible without caring for it. It wouldn't feel like a real independent subclass otherwise. I think the restrictions on Prismatic are good, but with that in mind, I'm extremely disappointed that the exotic class item perks only work on the Prismatic subclass. I think that needs to change.
They will at some point either have to make new aspects for prismatic alone, OR implement older ones from the core subclasses, either way this is likely (and hopefully) not the only way that prismatic is going to look in terms of aspect building especially when it comes to pick ups like shards and firesprites
I don't think this will power creep anything. They were very selective in their options with Prismatic. One of the strongest builds in the game until this recent season was Bonk Hammer Titan with Sol Invictus and Roaring Flames. This combo is impossible to get with Prismatic, as none of the main abilities (Besides fragments) appear in the Prismatic class.
I do think it will powercreep if there are no downsides in power, maybe they will increase cooldowns, idk, but considering the transcendent state is an extra powerup, and the added combinations you can have between supers, exotics, weapons perks, surges, artifact mods that will further enhance certain duos, and just simple examples of being able to combine stuff like Radiant and Restoration with Strand Banner of War and Woven Mail, Strand with Void Overshields, Volatile Rounds, plus Unraveling, hell maybe you can proc Devour and Weaken all at once, etc. does sound really powerful.
@@vrika4280 Powercreep implies that they aren't going to inherently buff enemies with more HP or defenses. The biggest problem with things like Deep Dive and Coil is that there just aren't enough modifiers and they don't modify your class enough. Imagine a new activity that is prismatic only, but has more options in terms of abilities and aspects available for really, really crazy run potential.
As for the balance of it, I think they are leaving out some of the most potent options from some subclasses. Like there's no fusion grenade for example. Even if that's the case, this seems simply too fun not to do. Even if it ends up not being optimal somehow, I wouldn't even care

My question is… *_How are mono-element builds going to be relevant in the future?_* Because WHY would I use “Just” strand or Solar when I can wield both and more at the same time? Sure, I guess mono-element builds would be better for specialist builds, but Prismatic looks vastly superior even with that in mind.
@@misfitmush That’s the point I’m trying to make. At this point ALL of the existing subclasses should just be collapsed into prismatic, UNLESS Bungie is drastically buffing the current subclasses to contend halfway.

Ok well then… that’s significantly less broken than I thought especially on hunter. Sucks we have zero dives and besides duskfield all of our nades suck. Thankfully the aspects look pretty decent besides stasis and strand
My biggest problem is how they had to give stasis to 2 classes because we didn't had a third option. We always knew that the hunters are THE solar class and the negative color of solar was stasis. Warlocks were THE void class and they should had the strand as the negative color of the void IS strand NOT stasis and finally titans being the arc class they should have had the arc + red darkness class that everyone was hyping up for. You're not wrong Fallout, it was called Radiance, you were referring to Song Of Flame. I love it too because of the crazy spam you got and the increased ability generation spread to nearby allies.
I'm glad it's curated and focusing on an element still has a purpose. If you want Bubble or Well, gotta run those subclasses. If you see someone with Child of the Old Gods or Arc Soul, you know they're full in on that element. Hunters though... totally made out like a bandit with this one IMHO. They got nearly every movement ability (only big one missing is shatter dive), and are the only class that can run Grapple with Prismatic if I'm understanding this right. I'm a hunter main, and this looks like my new main (picking 1 from each column and 2 from the last): -Storm’s Edge (teleporting arc knife super) -Acrobat’s Dodge (become radiant) -Blink! -Withering Blade (stasis shurikens to easily spread slow) -Grapple! -Ascension (new arc aspect for upwards movement) -Stylish Executioner (invis and truesight when killing a debuffed enemy) Just insane movement with grapple + blink + dodge + ascension, and that real assassin/ninja fantasy of dropping in on someone, priming them with a shuriken, cleaning up while they are trying to turn and find out where you just flew in from and react (while slowed!), and then entering invis and getting truesight to hunt the next target.
Anyone else notice the brave weapon trait Indomitability gives energy based on light and dark ability usage, these weapons are going to synergize so good with Prism!
I’m super excited to use it week one. After that, I’m still not sure this won’t just obsolete the other classes, but I’m not sure how to change that without gutting the subclass or overtuning solo elements’ synergies, in turn obsoleting Prismatic, and then chasing the tail of ‘what element is OP this update’ until the end of time.

They would have to spend so much more time balancing everything. Remember that they most likely made all of this in 3 months
TL;DR: Creating and balancing classes is time-consuming so we will let you Frankestein your way picking stuff to build your class as you want, while we charge you for that and at the same time kill the uniqueness of every subclass in the process.
The change to stylish executioner even for void builds is huge. Half the battle for it was just dodging for your melee and trying to get volatile up so you could chain it, especially with how weak the volatile weapon perk was in comparison to voltshot/incandescent. Now you can equip something like voltshot and go invis each time you shoot, activate it, and get a kill

insane Ws all around quite honestly D2 needs a roguelike mode where you dive into a pyramid finding prismatic aspects and weapons. It has everything for it!
Random theory. They are doing an insane power creep because....after Final Shape and the episodes we are going to canonically emerge from the Traveler and arrive to either somewhere else entirely. Or things will be drastically changed. We are going to be de-powered to a degree and lose our arsenal somehow, basically kicking off a Destiny 3. Or they will announce a Destiny 3
As a weird blink enjoyer I'm so happy to see a new subclass with blink as an option, and being able to combine grapple with blink is ideal. I usually sort of ping-pong between Hunter and Warlock but I'm not sure I'll ever switch off Hunter again. Between Storm's Edge, Blink, Grapple, Knife Trick (and hopefully being able to get the Mask of Bakris effect on the new exotic class item) I'll finally have all the teleporting and knife throwing I've always dreamed of.
Suddenly Tessellation's property of becoming whatever element you have equipped paired with it's crystalline prism design feels like it was foreshadowing all along.
I know this is going to power-creep the base 3.0 sub-classes but at the same time this gives us THE BEST build crafting possible plus if you want to build into something hyper specific now you can
Ok so it seems like solo element will still have its use since it seems prismatic only has bits and bobs of each subclass/ altered versions of the stuff, would be interesting to see if they add more aspects and fragments.
I'm a bit underwhelmed actually (as a warlock main at least). They said they were focusing on underused aspects. The problem is those aspects are underused because they aren't good so if you combine them all into one subclass you're just going to get an underused subclass. Warlocks getting Lightning surge and Weaver's Call? Bad. Maybe Hellion aspect will help pull this thing out of the bin for me.

Considering the titans don’t get throwing hammer I won’t be using prismatic as much as base solar because hammer builds make the game easy. Warlocks and hunters however look pretty spicy.
I would like to think the change in leadership has been leading this huge charge for positive changes. Because this is what it looks like when a team tries to overdeliver.
Maybe also just me, I dunno why the grenades are class specific either. The smart design choice would have been to make it to where each grenade was available to everyone so they could add future combinations.
i don't know about others, but surely prismatic warlocks with freezing turret n feed the void aspects, coldsnap nades, Song of Flame super with solar pet (soul) rift combined with crazy ability regen n damage for you n your allies will definitely be beyond broken OP..☺😉
I wonder if this is bungies tester for consolidating all subclasses and eventually remove everything else but allowing prismatic to build a full solar build etc then instead of creating all new subclasses they only have to create new fragments, aspects, and abilities. Could lead to more new abilities more often instead of starting from scratch every time
This is more limited than we anticipated so I feel it wont be TOO busted tbh. PvP will be hectic for sure but I think it'll still be okay and the normal subclasses still have a place (if you wanna get invis from neutral you can still only do that on void hunter)
While I am hyped for this, part of me hopes we still get one last new darkness element. Just makes sense to me, there should be three dark subclasses, and three light ones. Though, this has probably been delayed to Echoes. Or, may appear after we beat the campaign. Curious to hear any thoughts on this.
I actually think this will help balance pvp. Overpowered weapons and abilities that few have won't matter when everyone is overpowered using prismatic abilities and new ritual weapons.

People say you will never use the other subclasses again. i disagree. We only are getting certain aspects and certain abilities. So unless bungie gives us the rest of the aspects and abilities. the others will still be viable. that being said this will hundred percent be my fav subclass
Definitely gonna enjoy making an unstoppable stasis and void titan build.
This isn't a subclass it's a combination of the ones we have
@@limo7976 it's a subclass. The devs said so. You're competing with the creators of it if you think otherwise.
Domain expansion: benevolent kitchen
TBH I'm cool with the curated aspects/ability selections per class. There's definitely a lot of options here that favor synergy as showcased in the ViDoc, but if you want access to some the most powerful individual abilities you'll still need to go all in on a core subclass. (Banner of War! Bubble! Whatever post-nerf Well is like!) Definitely powerful, but probably not as over-the-top as people thought.
The nerf to Well is that you can't use it on Prismatic
Also, while I'm also fine with having a curated selection, there are a few options that I just feel should've also been included, like the hunter's arc slide melee.
If it were this crazy busted over-the-top thing people expected/wanted, that would result in everyone only being permitted to do ONE thing in difficult content for the rest of time (?) so it's a strictly good choice imo

This is definitely one of those Pandora's box moments tho, Like this is really cool but it's the end of class balance
It’s really not. There are still plenty of things unique to the monochrome subclasses, like banner of war. That alone means berserker is probably still better than prismatic.

Class balance is meaningless in everything but PvP. And, it's super easy to just turn off Prismatic in PvP
Eh, it's the end of this saga of destiny, this was exactly what bungie needed to get people excited for the game one last time before the majority of long time players drop the game, final shape was gonna flop with bungie alongside it if they didn't do something of this scale
I'm definitely going to run astrocytes, blink, phoenix dive, winters wrath, penumbral blast/arcane needle, weavers call and lightning surge/bleakwatchers in PvP.
I might also test out song of flame out with this too.
I think that these subclasses are going to be stupid broken. But I love it. We are the Traveler’s Chosen. A champion of the light. The witness is one of if not the most powerful being we’ve faced up against. We’re going to need to pull out all the stops. The content we’re going to play through will still be challenging despite how op we are. Just from seeing that some of the aspects work from “ability final blows” or “defeating targets effected by any subclass debuff” I think this will be a lot more beginner friendly than people thought at first. You’re not gonna have to jump through a bunch of crazy hoops to get the most out of a build. Thanks for coming to my ted talk lmao
Damn they really thought "you know what would be great? Lets just make every previous subclass irrelevant and basically force players to spend $50 to make them have any chance at anything."
This is a sick ass concept and I really want it, but this should not be behind a $50 dlc
Love the idea of this subclass because in the future any added subclasses are gonna retroactively make this one even cooler
i feel like the class specific grenades could be changed to have the three prismatic grenades available to all classes, and you just pick the one you like best.
Missed the opportunity to call the titan transcendent grenade the live wire grenade.
It looked like in the play video that those enemies were taking quite a bit of damage even with the new class changes. I think it will look like powercreep but they are going to 100% make enemies a little more difficult.
I commented on Byf’s video that I was hoping us Warlocks would get to embrace the single parent archetype, but Dayumn! I didn’t think they’d actually give it to us!
One thing I haven't seen people talk about - this opens up a lot of interesting options for ***really*** crazy roguelite activities in the future.

Basically, Prismatic is the jack of all trades while the mono-clases are the specialization
Yes. Jack of all trades master of none.
My question is…
*_How are mono-element builds going to be relevant in the future?_*
Because WHY would I use “Just” strand or Solar when I can wield both and more at the same time? Sure, I guess mono-element builds would be better for specialist builds, but Prismatic looks vastly superior even with that in mind.
WHY would you only wanna do mono?
@@misfitmush
That’s the point I’m trying to make.
At this point ALL of the existing subclasses should just be collapsed into prismatic, UNLESS Bungie is drastically buffing the current subclasses to contend halfway.
You wanna use banner of war? Mono. Bubble? Mono. Well? Mono, spec blades? Mono, BB? Mono, Nova warp? Mono. The list goes on and on.
@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire the only things I see them gate keeping if they gatekeep at all, are things that are already strong in the sandbox. For pvp balance reasons, they can't outright let everything mix. It'd be cool in pve if they did though.
@@pearsonschofield7626

And you’re STILL the Well/Bubble guy that hardly got any new toys to mix things up in comparison. Don’t you think that might make some people a smidge… Resentful?
This subclass is made for experienced players, you aren’t meant to take this subclass off. For new players though it may be to confusing so there’s still the premade subclasses for them.
It’s not good enough for people to run this in most cases, no access to sunbracers, banner of war, well, or gathering storm is a massive dealbreaker and means it probably won’t be that good
@@imnotyourshadowmany people do just fine without those builds anyway so i think well live
@@dylansams4064 He's right, titan and warlock wont be good. Hunters will be busted. As for being fine, 90% of this game is easy enough to do with white gear, so that isn't really a factor, but they should still be fully customizable, not this partial indecisive bs.
Im not disappointed about the new subclass and it looks awesome but I just see the perfection that we can never achieve now.
I'm a hunter main, and this looks like my new main (picking 1 from each column and 2 from the last):
-Storm’s Edge (teleporting arc knife super)
-Acrobat’s Dodge (become radiant)
-Blink!
-Withering Blade (stasis shurikens to easily spread slow)
-Grapple!
-Ascension (new arc aspect for upwards movement)
-Stylish Executioner (invis and truesight when killing a debuffed enemy)
Just insane movement with grapple + blink + dodge + ascension, and that real assassin/ninja fantasy of dropping in on someone, priming them with a shuriken, cleaning up while they are trying to turn and find out where you just flew in from and react (while slowed!), and then entering invis and getting truesight to hunt the next target.
The way that the article is worded it sounds like you won't need to buy the other expansions in order to enjoy all the powers this one starts you off with, if that is what they intend to do. Then this will easily be the best expansion they have put out, ever.
So this is the infamous red subclass
Ngl I’m disappointed it’s not a third darkness subclass

I’m pretty sure Bungie will expand the arsenal as time goes on. I’m pretty sure they didn’t want to launch with everything available cuz they didn’t want to break the game altogether. They would have to spend so much more time balancing everything.
Remember that they most likely made all of this in 3 months
So sad that i saw no solar grenades... i was gonna make a sunbracers/ fallen sunstart build. Cant do that without sunbracers

Hope they add more choice later on.🎉

quite honestly D2 needs a roguelike mode where you dive into a pyramid finding prismatic aspects and weapons.
Bungie said oh you thought the years before was power creep? THIS is power creep!
I kinda hope they give us more transcendent grenade options, i feel like theres more combo’s that could be made
Noticing that the Facet of Balance is the opposite ability energy recovery of the Indomitability origin trait from the BRAVE weapons
Suddenly Tessellation's property of becoming whatever element you have equipped paired with it's crystalline prism design feels like it was foreshadowing all along.
I know this is going to power-creep the base 3.0 sub-classes but at the same time this gives us THE BEST build crafting possible plus if you want to build into something hyper specific now you can
The builds... the synergy, the numbers Mason. Holy crap I'm gonna have a field day.

Phoenix dive is only underutilized if you're not an end-game solarlock player
Silk strike with blink… combination blow with threaded specter and winters shroud. Good lord
Finality is gonna get even better with prismatic a gun that does both light and dark dmg and has freeze and ign

Knockout + Shiver Strike + Thrusters will be funny on PvP
I actually think this will help balance pvp. Overpowered weapons and abilities that few have won't matter when everyone is overpowered using prismatic abilities and new ritual weapons.
