Loved the way that the M1 pro in my MPB 16 was so fast and quiet and consumed hardly any power...
Looked like a 6 db difference in fan noise, which might seem negligable until you understand a 6 db increase is twice as loud. (56 db is twice as loud as 50 db - it's a logarithmic scale). Those are the absolute numbers though. Perception is a whole other dimension. Meaning it may or may not matter to you.

A Mac mini with a decent monitor screen and a iPad Pro 11 with the pencil pro would be my perfect hybrid set up. £599 / £999 / £130 + a monitor would give the MacBook Pro a run for value for money.
FYI, you CAN get 240hz over usb c with that monitor, just need to set the usb bandwidth to 2.0 rather than 3.1, 2.0 is more than enough for peripherals, I have the same monitor, excellent monitor
LOL! My 2017 MacBook Pro (mid-spec) is still running perfectly and does everything I want. (I don't do any encoding.) If I was going to buy, it would be the Mac mini with the M4 Max chip.
Makes me wonder how the other variants perform in terms of fan noise. I hope they focus on that with the re-design, optimizing the cooling, rather then trying to slim it down. But I really wish they would add a display-port. And a 4th Thunderbolt-port, or make the magsafe at least USB-4 or thunderolt 4, so it could be used both to expand the number of ports, but also for those that don't need a lot of ports, be the best possible docking solutions.

Thank you. My 2012 MacBook Pro just bit the bullet last month. I was using Final Cut on it but use Davinci on my PC. I am thinking to get the MacBook Pro m4. I really don’t want to pay the crazy amount they want for the extra memory. Is the 48Gb of memory really going to be that much better than the 24Gb?
I feel like the scenarios where the nano screen excels aren't realistic of most people's user experience. A lot of them show the monitor off, which, if you can only tell it while it's off, then who cares? It's not like you're using it when there's nothing on the screen. And also they point insanely bright video recording lights at it, which just isn't a realistic scenario for most. Then bundle that w/ the fact you do lose some of the clarity in the black colors and the image, and you're paying extra for that. I just don't see why anyone would want it unless they have VERY specific scenarios (maybe they do a lot of presentations on a podium with lights pointed at them, or they put their desk directly in sight of the sun coming through the windows).

Although I don’t want or need a laptop, this MBP looks like it’s perfect for all the things I want to accomplish. I already have 3 Apple monitors that I currently use. I obtained the Kensington TB5 unit so I’d be good to go out of the box.
For 500 frames ripple dreams on 14” 40 core gpu m3 max I got 4m 20s. This was the greatest laptop ever made until the m4 max 14” released. This is Eevee though. You really need to do a cycles test. If Apple Continues to widen the gap with the upgrades on Macbooks each year and software support improves drastically, Windows laptops will be a very tough sale.

CEX is good and all for your pocket and the environment. My only issue is that on two occasions they claimed my pixel 8 pro was a C grade because of a minuscule mark on the screen that not I or even they initially noticed but then sold the same phone as a B grade. They did the same with a Samsung Book 4 Pro 360 said it was B grade because the type C port I used to charge the device had a mark of the charger but then were selling the same device as A grade the very next day 😅😂. Needless to say the experience put me off.

@@John-sn4hl I’m doing marketing manager/ designer/ photographer and a bit of coding while working with large dataset on some ML projects.
@ That’s actually quite good, I had wanted to upgrade my M1 14” MBP to an M4. Battery life is one of the motivating factors and also trying to not lag behind too much in the update cycle.
2012 mid macbook pro was the last to get the matte screen i believe. Also because i'm typing from it now :D
How much better is the battery life
Not significantly better, around 5%

Hey I know this isn't really related to MacBooks but I was wondering what's your wallpaper please, looks gorgeous!!
Letting CeX sponsor you is 100% getting you demonetized 😂😂
Help! 🙏🏼… I found the M3 MAX 🟡 (14 CPU, 36 GB RAM, 30 GPU) … at the same price as … the M4 PRO 🟣 (24 GB, 20 GPU, 14 CPU, which Mac should I buy? 😩
Considering that the CPU speed of the M4 Pro is a little bit better than the M3 Max.
Nope M3 Max is still way better.
Apple seriously didn't market the nano-texture enough.
If I knew it was that drastic and that good, I would have upgraded to it. I pre-ordered thinking it wouldn't be that much a difference.
Major regret now...
Apple has a 2 week return policy IIRC. You can use the one you ordered while waiting on another with the nano display and then return the original.
Dalam memilih gajet ni bukan sebab kepantasan sahaja. Ciri lain pun kira juga. Tiba2 dlm fb keluar banner dlm threadnya, minggu ni berapa kali? Terkejut juga. Tak pernah kena ke?
I am replacing my 2017 iMac Pro (with a powerful eGPU) with either the M4 Max MBP or an M4 Max Studio (when available.) Although I don’t want or need a laptop, this MBP looks like it’s perfect for all the things I want to accomplish. I already have 3 Apple monitors that I currently use. I obtained the Kensington TB5 unit so I’d be good to go out of the box.
I love how you always find a way to hate on the word “daily driver” 😂😂
It’s such a UA-cam cliche though 😅
For 500 frames ripple dreams on 14” 40 core gpu m3 max I got 4m 20s.
This was the greatest laptop ever made until the m4 max 14” released.
This is Eevee though. You really need to do a cycles test. See the time per frame difference and let me know.
If you can do the classroom demo under cycles demo files in the blender page.
If Apple Continues to widen the gap with the upgrades on Macbooks each year and software support improves drastically,
Windows laptops will be a very tough sale.
i can take the old one if you don't need it , 😇😇😇
5:24 😂😂😂
First of all, appreciate your sharing.
Looks like it can make sure Thunderblot 5 can drive two monitors through the docking.
hope that can have the MBP M4 test~i would like to understand whether M4 can get the same way or not~
What mic and camera did you use to make this video?
Non related question, but where’s your hoodie from?
Does the nano display reduce specular highlights during HDR10 and Dolby Vision movie playback? thanks.
Me watching this on the Original M1 macbook pro 13”. Still runs blazing fast and battery health is at 98%.
M1 here died in 2023. Needed a new logic board.
Screen went black sometimes and one day infinite bootloop.
Is the display response time better on the M4 models compared to the M3, especially in scrolling, switching between workspaces?
Identical, as far as i know
Nice. Cant afford to go for M4 Max but due an upgrade after nearly 9 years. Going for 16 inch M4 Pro. I'm not getting it for gaming but out of interest, how would you say M4 Pro vs Max compares for graphics/gaming/fps etc? Thanks
Mac book/5 years
A mac mini with a monitor /6~7 years
A pc ~~
A playstation/xbox setup /10 years
an i phone each 4 years
An i pad/5 years
a smart watch / until it breaks
They're going to have to redesign the m-series to get any more significant gains😢
Thank you for making video Mr.
0:01 yeah but in PC you can upgrade RAM/GPU/SSD even processor if you want. If 3-4 years later you happen to need more performance you can upgrade components of PC and you don't have to buy entirely a new laptop like in case of Mac. So PC is more cheaper and environmentally friendly overtime
Imagine if Apple made a gaming handheld with the M4 chips!
wonder if the nano texture stops the coating from coming off from the keyboard when its closed?
I need to get myself a deeper desk, where did you get yours?
do you think a new macbook m2 touchbar pro with 24gb ram and 1tb for £1400 is a good price for software development
Is it worth spending money nowadays for year on year upgrades on any of the devices not only your laptops but your smartphones, headsets etc.
Bought one with 128GB ram. Hope it helps me read my email and papers superfast.
How is that ? I bet it’s good with google chrome. I want that much memory for google chrome reasons.
I'm coming from a 2019 i9 16" and my 14" M4 Max 16c will be coming today. Do you think it will be AMAZINGLY FAST or IMPRESSIVELY FAST compared to my slow 2019 one?
It will be neither IMPRESSIVELY nor AMAZINGLY fast; it will be MIND-NUMBINGLY fast.
What Shortcut do you use in your Browser for GPT? Just a bookmark?
Look how happy he is!
I don’t know which screen should i use ? Nano texture? Or standard?
I just use it indoors
money Is no problem
Im going to use it for coding
And entertaining
Please help?
Nano texture is perfect at indoors when light come in from the windows or 💡
if you like the crystal clear image as I do, skip the nano..
What is this temperature and consumption tracking program?
I'm thinking this might be the year to upgrade from my 2019 MacBook Pro 16 inch running a i7 Intel core. The battery life is extremely poor in recent months and the computer is starting to slow down significantly. So upgrading to apples new chip should be a big difference.
Good Cafe Nero product placement 💥
I didn’t even think about it lol. Now I need them to sponsor
Just a Correction in camera comparison you wrote 16 MBP 2023 in both texts. White and green :)
I am an Apple user and need to upgrade phone and tablet. Can you get the same seamless syncing across devices with a Samsung phone and tablet automatically as you can with Apple devices? Thank you for any advice on this
CEX is good and all for your pocket and the environment.
Nice work!
