Right, seems that people are getting a bit confused… the recently released Clock Tower Rewind IS The First Fear, just with improved textures and QOL improvements. Playing Clock Tower Rewind is how I got the footage for what is essentially ‘The First Fear’.
This feels like when I try to explain how Final Fantasy 3 can be both 3 and 6 😂. It was the 6th one released in Japan, but only the third game of the series that was imported and translated to English, so in the Western market it's #3.
As an additional information to Rewind, it is the OFFICIAL translation to First Fear. The previous SNES/PSX versions were only fan translations since as mentioned in the video, it never really got OFFICIALLY released outside Japan until now. There was a recent-ish fan release of the SNES gane which introduced a bunch of QOL improvements and additions. That Deluxe Edition was pretty much the basis to Rewind.
I personally believe Jennifer’s ending A to be canon. After all the traumatic stuff Jennifer had to go through, she deserves for her nightmare to finally be over.
Called me a catastrophizer, but I feel like there should have probably been a home check and a few interviews when a wealthy recluse decided to adopt four teenage girls.
I appreciate that you spent a pretty penny on those games, and still said the second one was just okay. Your opinion is affected by sunk cost thinking. Thanks for covering this classic!
There was a developer interview that gave us some more information about Dan in The First Fear: So, Dan and Bobby should not be able to live due to their deformities. However, by stopping time i.e. the clock in the tower, they essentially became immortal. The only downside is that they cannot leave the mansion. Dan found a way around this by creating a sort of cocoon made out of a lot of human flesh, where he would "transform into a perfect body". This is what erupts out of the burnt coprse in The First Fear and becomes Edward in Clock Tower.
Yay more Harry! 🎉 Thanks for all your hard work, love having your vids in my ear while I putter around the house. Let us know if you ever decide to read audiobooks too, you've got such a soothing voice 😊
This reminds me of the Dunwich Horror, at least the backstory. Family makes a deal with Old Gods for power and two children are born. One passes for human, but the other takes after dad and is a huge deformed thing hidden away.
After covering Clock Tower 3, you should try and tackle the infamous "Night Cry", the "spiritual successor" to Clock Tower, made by the original creator himself.
Using the story of "Clock Tower 2" for a crossover of mine was easier, especially with the potential it can have with my hands. I especially enjoy how I'm crossovering it with an old child's anime called "Brave Beats". I love crossovering childhood stuff with dark stuff.
I always thought it was funny that the first game's protagonist is named Jennifer because she looks just like Labyrinth-era actress Jennifer Connelly to me.
Anyone remember the game series Fatal Frame? A full story break down of that would be interesting. I haven't heard anyone mention that name in like two decades or something
Yes, I heard of it, but if you want to hear about the backstory or lore of fatal frame I recommend checking out The lady of lore for interesting explanation of the story , if curious
Nice analysis. I never finished all the endings. Still remembers the time I got chased by the Scissorman way back then and true it is tiring after a while lol. Hope that you will do Fatal Frame series next. The game (at least the first one) needs a remake.
Hey I don't know if you're taking suggestions but I think the crpg Tyranny is really cool. The lore is wild, with a lot of interesting applications of magic and a fair bit of interesting characters (friendly and enemy!). Getting your attention with a youtube comment seems like a long shot but I still have to give it a try. Thanks for the good videos, either way
Harry i truly need a silent hill 2 remake explained from u, the story from the notes nobody ever do it like u. Pleaseee i love your explanation so much
Hi! Minor nitpick, but I couldn't help but notice that there is a minor error in the timeline about the Barrows family history. If the Great Father got involved with Theodore after the Hundred Years' War (which ended in 1453), then Quentin (the 13th generation barrows, although it's unclear from where they started counting) couldn't possibly be dealing with Scissorman in the 13th century. If Theodore was the first generation Barrows, and a generation is roughly 25 years, then Quentin would be leaving hints 325 years later - in the late 18th century. Sounds a bit more reasonable that those clues might have survived, and that they would be written in a legible way :-) Sorry for the tangent - love the work you do ❤
I see snips of Prey in your intro to retro vault, but I can't find a video on your channel. Have you played/released it yet? If not, I'd love to see it. Also, I agree with you about playing on original consoles. I emulate games for convenience, but you get issues like screen tearing and resolution that the limitations of the game can't solve.
Happy thanksgiving harry I just want to ask you two questions, one are going to do metro awakening story explained video and if no I get it if don’t want to because you need a vr to play it, and two did you they made a modern port of clock tower called clock tower rewind on modern hardware?
I'm surprised no one else is commenting on how in Jennifer's pov in the game, you do every like your supposed to aka use the key, the knife and the words Meanwhile in Helen's is just "use the gun" as like half the time Love the sorry and really interesting but that just stuck out as funny to me

I personally believe Jennifer’s ending A to be canon. After all the traumatic stuff Jennifer had to go through, she deserves for her nightmare to finally be over.
Thanks for this video. I was waiting for it
A new Gaming Harry video! Another thing to be thankful for❤
Called me a catastrophizer, but I feel like there should have probably been a home check and a few interviews when a wealthy recluse decided to adopt four teenage girls.

I always look forward to your videos, thank you for your hard work & paying attention to details that I’m sure a lot of us would miss!

The best yt channel soothing narration
Ive been waiting years for this 🙌🏻
According to UA-cam I’m in your top 3% of watchers. Not surprised, you’re my favorite game explanation channel! 🎉
Where did you find this info?
Yeah I’m curious too
Found it on my TV while on UA-cam on this account.
Don’t remember exactly where I found it
You can go to the gaming tab/page (not the recommendations page) and you should see a gaming recap, That's where you'll find that info
Yay more Harry! 🎉 Thanks for all your hard work, love having your vids in my ear while I putter around the house. Let us know if you ever decide to read audiobooks too, you've got such a soothing voice 😊
Played the 3rd game on PS2 as a kid never beat it tho. Nice to see it wasn't forgotten
В першу чергу через те що вийшов ремастер першої частини та ФНАФ В Дірку, який був зроблений на основі як раз Клок Тауер
Never heard of this game. But this is a great explanation of the plot.
This reminds me of the Dunwich Horror, at least the backstory. Family makes a deal with Old Gods for power and two children are born. One passes for human, but the other takes after dad and is a huge deformed thing hidden away.
Though the twin looked more like the father than Bobby did
One of my favorite stories! "One day, you'll hear him calling his Father's name atop Sentinal Hill!"
Im in your top 0.8%! Thank you so much for the content man!
After covering Clock Tower 3, you should try and tackle the infamous "Night Cry", the "spiritual successor" to Clock Tower, made by the original creator himself.
Please don't do that to him. He doesn't deserve that 😂
Loooooved Clock Tower from the moment I played it on the SNES. It was my first horror game.
Great video!!
Always amazing analysis 💝
Imma enjoy this amazing work 😊❤
~I'VE BEEN STRANGLED BY THE MAN IN THE MIRROR, ARGHHH!~ 🎶
This was great to see i'd even love to see a video on the 3rd game since i kinda grew up with that one the most
WOOOOOOO! CLOCK TOWER! It's always great to see a lore video of old classics! I'm hoping the remake does it justice! Thank you for the video!
I really like these videos.
Harry fills up my childhood gaming exp cuz i never dared to play scary games on any of my consoles 😂
Using the story of "Clock Tower 2" for a crossover of mine was easier, especially with the potential it can have with my hands. I especially enjoy how I'm crossovering it with an old child's anime called "Brave Beats".
I love crossovering childhood stuff with dark stuff.
Amideast the Greats you shine brother keep up with the amazing content
I always thought it was funny that the first game's protagonist is named Jennifer because she looks just like Labyrinth-era actress Jennifer Connelly to me.
This game so spooky back in my younger days
I hope the sequel to "The First Fear" is adapted too, but with more details from the interactive novel. It's one of my favorite stories ever.
Anyone remember the game series Fatal Frame? A full story break down of that would be interesting. I haven't heard anyone mention that name in like two decades or something
Yes, I heard of it, but if you want to hear about the backstory or lore of fatal frame
I recommend checking out

I'm so glad the first fear got a remake! It took forever, but now I can play it without worries of emulation.
Clock Tower for the PS1 was the first horror game I ever played! You never forget that kind of CD cover, lol
Imagine getting killed by a clock. Guess he was... out of time. Yaaaaaaaa. 😎
Aww nice, retro storytime with Uncle Harry yay gather round kids

Your missing clock tower 3
You should do the "I have no mouth but I must scream", like another comment suggested.
