Ooooooooh! I would have saved so much time if I just watched your video before trying to figure this out on my own... Thank you!

Excellent video - the image warping same as affinity photo, I was hoping you found new image warp options. Affinity needs to clean up and streamline the GUI, it’s approaching the complications found in apple motion …..

One thing to be careful of with warping in designer is export to pdf can be very buggy. I often have to make a duplicate of the warp layer and rasterize it before exporting for printing . Another great tutorial as always.

Hi Vincent, thanks for the tip! I was not aware of that. I've exported PDFs before, but usually my documents are pretty simple.

@@TechnicallyTrent it seems to be a known issue, there is problem with transparency as well i have run into. Its annoying but at least it can be worked around in most of my work.

this is the second good perspective podcast on Designer. But maybe a topic in Affinity where we have a bad perspective in the photo (lens defect), e.g. of a tall building and we need to correct it, HOW? I can do it in PS, but I've switched to Affinity and I don't know everything (the worst are RGB channels, in PS it was much, much better)

Thanks for the suggestion, @waldowaw55! I will add that to my list of topics!

Does the work the same way in Affinity Photo?

    • @TechnicallyTrent
      @TechnicallyTrent  6 місяців тому

Hi Elizabeth! It is actually easier to do in Affinity Photo. You can click on the Live Filters button (at the bottom of the Layers tab) and choose "Perspective...". There are other warp features there too.
Note that the option also exists in Affinity Photo under Filters -> Distort, but that way is destructive.
      Hope this helps!

any reason why my Affiinity designer doesnt have the warp option? im on mac and i checked for updates but it claims im up to date.

Hi...which Warp option is missing? If it is the "Warp Groups" option at the bottom of the Layers panel, make sure you are in the Designer persona.
If it is the Perspective and Mesh Warp options in the top Layers menu, you need to be in the Pixel Persona. On the top left of the screen, click the button with squares that is the Pixel Persona. In that workspace, you should then be able to choose Layer -> New Live Filter Layer and find the warp options.
      Hope this helps!

Hi, i don't have the warping tool that you use in my menu and everywhere I go says to use it, what do I do 😨

    • @TechnicallyTrent

Hi @kay-412, are you sure you are in the Pixel Persona? At the top left of the window in Affinity Designer under the "File" menu, you'll see 3 icons. The middle one is the Pixel Persona. If you click that, it will give you a different workspace with the different menus. Hope that helps!

@@TechnicallyTrent omg thank you! i will try it later and see if it works. it’s not the same as rasterize for text layers, is it?

@@TechnicallyTrent i just tried it, and directly switching to pixel persona didn’t work, but switching back and forth for ages did. well, it works! thank you:)

@@kay-412 Hi Kay, glad it eventually worked. That is odd that you had to click so many times. If you keep getting that error, you can try reporting it on the Affinity Forums :)
