- Back again with another video showing you guys how I change the oil and service the Showa 50mm piggyback shock that come on the 2017 and up crf450s! This definitely isn't all that difficult and if you follow the way I do it in this video it will be a lot easier than what your manual says to do!
I'm still back home in Virginia on vacation but I got a bunch of new content coming as soon as I get back!

Really helpful video. Thanks.
Awesome! I actually always wanted to know how to set up my SAG! Good video man
Gonzalo Adrian Gonzalez Maldonado I’ll make a video on that sometime soon!
Great video as always!🔥😎
Mxrider2stroke Braaap thanks a lot homie! ✌🏼
Dude I had that exact issue while bleeding. Got oil all over the service manual and my favorite jacket, haha. That seems like a way more efficient way to bleed and fill it. Thanks
Troy Hubbard haha yeh im sure that part has made a lot of ppl struggle haha I swear this way that race tech shows and I did in the video is the only way to do it now. 👍🏼
Thanks man!!
👍
Buen video felicitaciones único que indica que grado de aceite lleva la suspensión saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷👏
🔥 🏍 💨
Showa 👍
Hello!
very good video!
tell me something, what pressure do you put in the pre-assembly? I'm not talking about the pressure after it's done!
Around 40 or 50 psi is plenty
I commend you for doing your own shock work. I’d rather rebuild my whole engine than do a shock lol
dan gardner what no way! These shocks are pretty simple! Thanks man 👍🏼
FULL THROTTLE FILMZ they’re just intimidating to me lol but maybe one day I’ll give it a try. But I’d rather pay the couple hundred and not bother with it 😂
dan gardner whatever you like! But yeh man it’s not as bad as you think, this vid should be helpful too.
Just some tips. Clean out rod seal area before pulling out seal and piston assembly, to avoid getting contamination and damaging parts of shock.
Race tech recommends 165psi in bladder but that is for their valving, you will find on most new shocks the pressure is lower at like 120-150psi.
Fair enough about the cleaning before removal, as for psi I have always done 165 for all bikes.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How big is the piston assembly tool?
What's the name of the air/nitrogen valve you're using?
You dont mention the shock oil ! What make or at least the grade . Major oversight as you are talking about changing the oil !!
🏍️☁️
Hi.. Good video! I have a xr400 showa rear suspensión, what oil can I use? Thanks!!
Thanks, it uses 7.5 wt I believe so you can use 10 wt to make it stiffer or 5 wt to make it softer.
@@FULLTHROTTLEFILMZ Thanks!!! 👍
So tell me, how do you have any idea if you have the correct amount of oil in the shock?
You pretty much just fill it up
What is the name of the brass tool you used to compressor the shock during removal?
A seal driver
What nitrogeen pressure do you use?
165 psi for this shock
Go on racetech site and punch in your information and it will tell you exactly what you need to know
2:41 Titanium spring?
I don't think it is titanium
Wtf dude..
The shock can easily removed with a liitle subframe lift.
1/3 of work you have done
Yeh well i want to service the linkage also when i get in there to do a shock..
good video but that is the worst background music ever ...
