    Its like rebuilding a Traxxas Big Bore Oil filled shocks. Or some AE RC10T gold shocks.

    hi , question here. are the oil the same as fork oil? can we just use fork oil? also what will happen if we go with air instead of nitrogen?

    • @justing505
      @justing505 3 роки тому

      Air is more combustible than nitrogen and fork oil is different from shock oil

      I need to service my shock an where i live they dont sell shock oil. Also there is no shop who can add nitrogen in my shock so i also have this qustions.
      Can i use fork oil and pump the shock with air? Did you find an answer to this? Please RM give us your opinion? Thanks!

      @@Nisotovski no you cannot you air. If you don’t have a shop near by to fill it with nitrogen call an HVAC and ask them if they will do it for you. But call a dealer, look online and or use a manual that gives you how much nitrogen you should put in it and give that to whoever can fill it for you.

    Just found that the screw in the compression adjuster is snapped off clean on a bike im building, if i just need to replace the compression adjuster how hard would that be? Im sure I’d have to rebleed the shock but idk the step if there’s already oil in the shock

    • @andrewstambaugh8030
      @andrewstambaugh8030 Рік тому +1

      Depends on how that was snapped off. If someone tried to screw it in too far... then the needle valve is buggered and will probably never work well.
      If it was screwed out too far, maybe the needle part is ok, you'd still need to look at a diagram and see if it has some kind of stopper/clip/pin to remove.
      Either way, you'll probably need to drill it carefully and use an easy out (the smallest one you can get)
      If it was damaged from sliding while dropped, it may be ok to just replace, or it may leak due to the hole being wallowed.
      It's hard to say much without opening it up and seeing what's wrong.

    • @rmatvmc

      You'll want to check your bikes service manual but most likely your fork and rear shock will at least require different weight oils.

    For the Nitrogen pressure in the rear shock, would the bike manual indicate this, or would I get it from a shock manufacturer?

      The OEM service manual for you bike should tell you. Some aftermarket manuals won't specify, so in that case you might have to look elsewhere. -Charles
