They were angels with dirty faces 'Til they fell from somebody's graces They were soldiers without a mission But they were angels They had a vision Like Robin Hood they were rebels Some say they kept their company with the devil Nobody knows their embraces But they could tremble in higher places They fought frustration with laughter Made men forget just what they were running after They laugh without any purpose Taught them to trust their feelings beneath the surface Black is white And day is night Wrong can be right In the best light Life is a game, it's a perfect place For angels with dirty faces Dirty faces

The song is good, but I understand why it didn't make the cut. The Like a Prayer album ultimately went for another sound and concept and this song can be seen as a creative exploration moving away from True Blue/ Who's that girl. It sounds it was written and composed during the early stage of creating the album. Like a Prayer became more powerful in sound and lyrics, this song sounds too "sweet" for the album.
@@teacherlucas9982 So true. That's exactly what happened with the song Like a Prayer. Very sweet sounding like this and then toughened up with a heavier beat and electric guitar. This would have worked well on the album.
Sounds like WHOS THAT GIRL i like this unrealsed song...melody remembers her glory days on the top, today you re playing bad music, would like Patrick leonard comes back to collaborate with her its gonna do magical
Madonna and Omar Lopez wwe the best way for me and my family 👪 ❤ I think that you can find on your own home page that is a good friend of yours and I am not going for it but if you have any questions or concerns about this please let me know how you want
Esto es mil veces mejor que todo Madame X junto jaja se nota que es una cancion antigua, descarte de Like a prayer creo. Me recuerda un poco a Water de Martika.
This sounds very much like her songs on Who's That Girl, not so much the Like A Prayer album. I like her sweet and natural voice on this. I prefer it over her fake/phony tone she uses now, mumbling words through her fat lips and pronouncing words as if she were from another culture (black). I like this song.
She is Italian but since moving to England or London during the 90s her voice got more proper compared to the 80s and after getting singing lessons for evita i feel like the soul and passion in her voice left I’m glad she got vocal lesions because it prob saved her voice with the way she use to sing it she prob would’ve lost her voice more earlier had she not got the lessons but i miss her old voice
They were angels with dirty faces
'Til they fell from somebody's graces
They were soldiers without a mission
But they were angels
They had a vision
Like Robin Hood they were rebels
Some say they kept their company with the devil
Nobody knows their embraces
But they could tremble in higher places
They fought frustration with laughter
Made men forget just what they were running after
They laugh without any purpose
Taught them to trust their feelings beneath the surface
Black is white
And day is night
Wrong can be right
In the best light
Life is a game, it's a perfect place
For angels with dirty faces

Thank you very much
Reminds me of Who’s That Girl first time listening. Great song

Thanks a lot. Yours is the most accurate.

This could have been perfect for Madame X album with an updated beat and instrumentation, love it!!..

Well, If they had introduced a heavier beat to it plus a guitar solo in the background, it could have been .
