36:49 Ma! Get the camera! I'm famous!!! Also, I was playing the Challenger Deck and I learned the hard way that it doesn't come w/ a sb. I just assumed it came w/ one lol
The in universe reason for changing the kaladesh name makes sense since the whole first block was all about the revolution. The real world reason just feels like such a reach. Possible vs actual meaning in the name
I guess I can't blame wotc for wanting to avoid drama, but two words which I assume are written and pronounced differently and only sound alike when you romanise them and remove the accents really feels like a nothing burger
> The real world reason just feels like such a reach. Imagine for a moment, that Dominaria's original name was Skibdi Tolet. Totally not Skibidi Toilet, clearly distinct. Would you WANT Wizards to keep that name for the plane? Think Skibdi Tolet United would sell as a set?
But really, maybe it's not so much about being overly sensitive as it is about censor evasion when it comes to people talking about a new set in places like right here in the UA-cam Comments. Don't want your advertisement to get automatically hidden
Soulflayer was the first deck I built for pioneer! Loved Scavengers addition! Another thing these new guys can do, that souflayer can't, is steal oponnent graveyard cards, witch can be important on the meta... plus, he doesn´t only get keywords from creatures... so you can exile a lotus for hexproof, or a parhelion for flying, first strike and vigilance!
I would love to see the look of sheer confusion on seths face if he watched beastars But for an actually good anime recommendation ( or more mainstream anyways...) Watch full metal alchemist brotherhood
At 1:11:10 I think the winning play would have been to cast Enigmatic Incarnation and then cast Layline Binding and sacrificing both Leyline Binding and Enigmatic Incarnation to Ugin's ward cost.
The best solution for day/night is just a a single added line: "If there are ever no creatures with Daybound/Nightbound on the battlefield, it stops being Day/Night." No more tracking problems, if nothing cares it goes away until another werewolf shows up.
@6:22 if you blur or squint your eyes it looks like CGB and Rarran similar backgrounds, skin tones, shirt colors, and facial hair from a MTG & HS collab video.
Even though it feels wearisome right now, if there is one color I would choose to be the best forever, it would be black. Black is fun as the villain, the police, that every other strategy claws and schemes to overcome by hook or by crook. Other colors somehow seem even more oppressive when they are dominant, imo. Green: huge ramp and huge plays you can’t possibly play over. Blue: don’t let you play the game. Red: kill you before you can play your second card. White: all the strongest mechanics in the game like sweepers, stax, draw, exile. Black is mostly just a mix of 1-1 removal and value creatures. It’s strong, it can be boring, but it almost always feels fair.
WOTC bureaucrats sitting around debating pointless 'social justice' initiatives by renaming kaladesh, a non-problem to begin with, while their digital formats sit stagnant and un-curated is the most WOTC thing they could have done.
I keep hearing Seth say the same thing about Modern over and over. But the question still remains, is it fair to judge a competitive formats viability and health based on your personal ability to build ‘brews’ in it? We all love to brew, but in the end, we know that’s what they are. They aren’t going to win a pro tour, they’ll likely go 50/50 at best, and we’re usually good with that. But now Seth seems to want more than that. But never really says exactly what he’s hoping for. Just the ability to ‘brew’ in Modern. Which has not gone away.
The issue is that brews don’t really do that anymore, at least to the level he wants. You can do “how good is collector ouphe main deck in a breakout domain deck” but you’re not playing durdly combo in the middle of current modern and not dying to a frog or energy by turn 4-5, it’s just not feasible and you’re hoping you never run into a semi competitive deck if you do.
@zackestin1368 People weren't playing durdly combos before MHx sets Prior to the MHx sets the format was very non-interactive and boiled down to who goldfished their deck quicker.
@@iwakuralain3064 Closed? In larger card pools the pool of competitively viable cards actually contracts as the card pool expands. Modern was at its inception already a massively restrictive cardpool in regards to competitively viable cards. It was a desire to overcome the seeming inability new cards mostly non-creature interaction to meet the threshold of playability in Modern is exactly what drove players to demand a direct to Modern set be made in the first place.
22:43 Unexpected Results without the shuffling would be Expected Results.

You could kinda say New Phyrexia changed its name after a revolution

Wizards of the Coast: We accidentally named one of our planes Black People Twitter

I think something like world spell or omniscience for when things are stuck in your hand would just buff this deck
5:36 starts
MTGGoldfish and SaffronOlive specifically is easily the best MTG content creator PERIOD.
I'd love to see you play a competitive commander league, Seth. Your competitive brews are always interesting

you need another cat named desist

Watch full metal alchemist brotherhood
People recommending Arcane when Seth asks for anime recommendations lmao
At 1:11:10 I think the winning play would have been to cast Enigmatic Incarnation and then cast Layline Binding and sacrificing both Leyline Binding and Enigmatic Incarnation to Ugin's ward cost.
I also got free old border fetches. Got 2 verdant catacombs
How about a Day/Night mechanic that makes it so on your turn it is day for you and night for your opponents?
How does it work for your opponent if they have day/night cards
The best solution for day/night is just a a single added line: "If there are ever no creatures with Daybound/Nightbound on the battlefield, it stops being Day/Night." No more tracking problems, if nothing cares it goes away until another werewolf shows up.
Think about mirroden turning into new phyrexia
A vish kar is funny if you translate from Albanian

The commander deck specifically says it's an energy deck.
I started playing around with manifest dread and release to wind to get the cast triggers on the 'drazi...maybe make your own luck actually fits too🤔
Black domintates paper as well. It is not just an arena thing.
Some good games Seth lol lucky and unlucky. For a show and going on the anime topic give Fairy Tail a shot. 12 episodes in and you will love it.
I find day and night track pretty fine. 😅
Rebuild the City and Maze's End!

The One Ring is a gonner and unban a ton of commander stuff.
What’s up my kaladesh
I always recommend FLCL ❤

Yes, magic is a trading card game so a format as closed as modern is bad.
