INCREDIBLE! Cannot wait to try this ;-) Thank you for your frugal art lessons Jenny. Not everyone has the resources to spend spend spend on crafting tools! I am so grateful and thankful for your inspiring ideas!
I watched the paper flowers first and couldn't believe the "recycled" buttons weren't REAL buttons!!! These are really beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing. I'm checking out your FB page now :)
thanks hun, glad it's appreciated and there are more people out there that want to craft this way! means a lot I have like-minded people around & thanks for your support =D x
You are a blessed woman I have been looking for a button for a velvet cape I made and found the one I wanted ata craft fair and it was 12.50 so now I’ll make it Thank you sweetie for sharing this with me . Your my blessing
I like this idea. This is something I would enjoy doing during a rainy day or during the winter. I can make jars of these things and then use them at artist swap meets!!!! AWESOME!!!!!! Jenni, you really are creative! I wouldn't have thought of making buttons like this!
These are so Cool! I loved how you cut squares and then rounded them..and how you used the stencils and sequin waste to add patterns/colors...awesome. and the diamond glaze went on my wish list.. thanks a bunch. you always come up with so many different ideas! thanks
Thank you for another wonderful tutorial, these buttons are delightful and look like they such fun to do too.I Is there no end to your creative imagination? You are truly a very talented lady. Warmest best wishes, Susanne
Thank you so much Jenny, I really really enjoyed watching you creating these gorgeous and adorable button’s. They are really really cute too on your journal page too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Love the use of recycled cardboard! I've been doing something similar by taking odd shaped buttons/embellishments from thrift shop finds, garage sale items, even old clothes & pocketbooks.I use found 'objects' as the base instead of cardboard. I also incorporate tissue paper, paint, stencils, ink. I even cut up journal pages/watercolors etc...in order to add more depth & character to the buttons..I agree that Diamond Glaze works best. Thanks for all your creative inspiration & recycling ideas!
Thanks too you i have made lots and lots of recycled buttons, and i add them to tags,my junk journals and also my file photo albums. i use them as charms to hang from my journals as well. i love all of ur tuts.
I love this tutorial! I made some using the glittery nail polishes that are available now and they are so sparkly! and the polish also makes them strong. thanks!
What a FABULOUS tutorial!! As a crafter, I loooove to have fun, be messy and do easy projects....LOL!!! Definitely going to make some. Looking forward to seeing more, more, more!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! Hugz:) Taylor
Well all the fast bits were because my camera recorded them that way without me realising, hence why the footage suddenly becomes realtime halfway through & I do the screenshots and give as much info as I can through voiceover. Sometimes you gotta work with what you have and hope people understand you're trying to give them something outta your own time & energy for free.
I love your videos Jenni, I don't have a lot of money, so I can keep costs down by recycling. The results are beautiful. Thanks for putting all these tutorials on YT. Bette
ok, I cannot stop laughing, I just started making some buttons like you showed, and hubby came in and was like "what are you doing?" so I told him, and he gave me the strangest look! "why are you making buttons when you have millions of buttons in jars that just sit and look pretty?" I sear they just don't understand... love your buttons, and am eager to see the next video now, you've got me all intrigued! Have a wonderous day
This is amazing ...I love your buttons and I have a group of 5th graders coming over tomorrow and will try this with them .Thank you so much ..hugs patsy
Amazing tutorial!! I am going to make a ton of buttons this week! Love the idea of making your own buttons from simple things I already have! This is going to come in very handy for future projects! Thanks a ton for sharing this idea with us!!!
Hi jennibellie..love these..I will make some larger ones and i think I will stamp on these too..or use numbers on them..very fun item to use in our journals..yes I think diamond glaze is best too..Thanks for all your great ideas..I am a new fan!! Thanks Joyce : )
Good idea abd great fun! I can't wait to make some. As always you are awesome! I also enjoyed your video of a hand drawn scrapbook page, good way to get the exact look you want and to get the creative juices flowing. tfs
Second video of yours I have bookmarked today. Love the fact that you use stuff that normally goes in my recycle bin. Always looking for money making ideas to make my embellishments. Also we have two things in common at first glance. First I love diamond glaze, second we it seems like the same brand of pizza. No more pizza boxes in the bin hehe. I might try these using old nail polish too. The left overs that get too gloopy for your nails or are the wrong shade that you buy cheap, adding a little glitter too even. TY for the inspiration.
This is awesome. I know these will come in handy for many things, also I was thinking using metal tape to decorate some too. It just brings all kinds of things to mind thank you.
lol thanks, glad you like em =) erm punch tool, something that could poke well - big needle, or may be a small one first then a screwdrive to make them larger?? You can get small holepunches inexpensively from some office supply stores I've heard but I'm not sure where specifically. Diamond glaze should be in most from craft stores. Arcylic paint will decorate them (or even house paint if you don't have anything any other kind), pens & markers etc, see what you have and see what will stick =) x
I love this idea! I may take it one further and put 4 holes and then criss cross some thread through them. Neat!! Thanx for sharing! P.S. I got the 4 hole idea from watching the stop motion film Coraline. ;)
you're welcome =) pleased you liked it, you could use anything really to decorate them - I just liked the ease of the stencils etc while I was doing this video =) thanks for watching x
Hi Mia, it's a tool I use in a lot of my bookmaking videos to create the holes - i think I use it in the flower making vid you watched, when I poked a hole in it to stitch on the button. Craft stores call them 'pokey tools', hardware stores & book binders call them awls but they're quite widely available =) hope that helps
Love all your videos and gives everyone great inspiration :)...had a go at these today and i must have gone wrong somewhere as they just didn't work out. Only using PVA so maybe that's where i am going wrong....will definitely try again very soon as these are fab :)
thanks dear, yep def a rainy day project me thinks, or a day when you wana craft but don't really know what you wanna do - these are kinda auto-pilot-crafting lol glad you enjoyed it =) x
Jennibellie tfs. These buttons look awesome!! My daughter and I watched your recycled paper flower tuturial and she loved it , cant wait to try it. Thanks again and I will try to see more of your vids. Happymailqueen
hi jenniebellie! im a new subcriber to your channel and I think I've watched all your vids just in the last few days :) i'm currently in the process of making the fabulous jenniebellie buttons. they are drying ATM. I even made square ones! ...just love your ideas and thanks so much for sharing your beautiful art with us!
That sounds like fun using found objects, I tried adding some collaged papers onto the top of the buttons the first time I tried to make them but they just didn't look right, I might have to have another go at it one day as I think they're look really good if I can get them right =) thanks for watching x
Lol thanks Kimmie, I never know what I'm gonna make myself so it's kinda a surprise for all of us! haha but you gotta let the use go where it wants to, glad this is so opportune for you, enjoy shrinking you cardboard and tissue paper stocks lol xx
I don't have a crop-a-dile tool, so I can't tell if you are having to use it twice for the two holes or if you have one that does two holes. Can you tell me which it is, please? Thank you. I love your videos so much!
yes I'm sure you could, though think after a few years it may go yellow ~ but then sometimes diamond glaze does apparently so if you have nothing else I'd give it a go & see =)
What a great way to add uniqueness to a project.
