Just a complete theory but it said from the creaters of deadpool so this could be somewhat similar. Im guessing hes a mutant who cant feel pain and just gets lost in his life and gets beat up for the fun of it. That would explain why he gets up unphased and just throws another rock because he loses purpose or something to that effect

There are a LOT of negative reactions to this in the comments, but I don't understand what's not to like about this! It's an actual teaser instead of a compilation of the best scenes. It doesn't give away anything about the plot, because that would ruin the intrigue. It's kind of funny, a bit tense, and a bit ridiculous, 3 things that pair well together on screen. Looks great!

Just because it's not a movie about a kid with powers that makes it stupid? Movies can be deeper and more complex than "I'm going to fight people with my secret powers". I think it's unfair to assume that this is stupid based on the fact that it's not what you expected.
The fact that this trailer tells us so little makes me more curious than if it were just another batman movie, or another superhero movie, because we already have so many of those. The vagueness is intended to peak the interest of the viewer, if it were another action cgi fight fest nobody would care, and it'd fade into obscurity.

I don't doubt it's a cash grab, I just think it's silly to judge a movies merit based on whether it's a superhero movie or not. Movies aren't "supposed" to be about anything specific, it's up to whoever making it, and as long as the story and production are executed well, it doesn't matter what the concept is. If you have your hang ups about what's going on in the trailer, no one is making you watch it.
