yes to all of the bands suggested by your listeners. BAND MAID is at the top of the hard rock category and there are many metal girl groups as well - ALL awesome ! LOVEBITES is at the top of that genre imho and are a supremely talented and special band you do NOT want to miss. don't wear socks when you listen to them cuz they will be gone ! here is a link for their live song 'holy war'. : ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html
I'm quite literally about to start mine. Right here. Right now. Just had to find somebody who was both skillful musician and entertaining host.. and I've found it here, in the closest thing to an MTV VJ on Spring Break Live that exists.. and I'm here for it. Let's GOoOoOo!
Bruh. I remember when I first discovered Band-Maid around new years 2022-23. The first 2 videos I saw were From Now On and Onset live. I instantly went into obsession mode like I never have before.
Great reaction Master Twistedshredder. Keep on Rockin'....next up check out a two-for with "Manners" and "Black Hole" OLV. It will give you two completely different vibes. First a bluesy/groovy feeling song and the second a heart pounding 220 bpm journey into a Black Hole. Currently their fastest bpm song in their portfolio. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
How many bands do you know of that every member I'd equally loved? Usually it is the singer and guitarist. Not with the Maids. They have a fanbase that is amazing. The Maidiacs are out in force!
Fun reaction vid. Thanks. Check out the two-song video Manners/Black Hole. It's from a live COVID era stream. The two songs are way different and way different from the ones you've heard. And Black Hole is insane.
When it comes to shredding, Kanami, the petite (barely 5' tall) humble, demure, young Japanese female, can take many a male shredder to the woodshed!!!!!!
Many of us saw Band-Maid play “From Now On” live. OMNG! Kanami riffed her ass off. The DB’s matched the BPM’s! So FROM NOW ON, Band-Maid will grow in popularity even faster as their awesome, sold out 10TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR wrapped up at Japan’s 17,000 seat Yokohama Arena on Nov. 26 and at Hong Kong. AND they’re writing and recording for their new album! The Maids are one of the hardest working super groups in the business! Their music, their sound, each of the Maids... and the love that permeates their live events is an experience not to be missed. Hope you can catch them LIVE! Thx, TwiShred!
As far as I'm concerned you've just witnessed an absolute masterpiece! You react to whatever you wanna react to but, hey, you wouldn't want to deprive yourself of Band-Maid, would you? Well, don't deprive yourself of Lovebites and Nemophila either! Different styles, same awesomeness!
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed live four times with this MV quality in Japan and dropped my jaw four times 😲. I believe so did many of American audience in their recent three US tours. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki, lead vocalist, some break. They played this song, however, as opening at festivals (in USA & Japan) and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄
The second time I saw them, I had a direct line of sight to Kanami's hands when they played this. She was just a blur, and had her eyes closed most of the time. Nuts. Since you are all about the shredding, your trip has to take you to Asterism (Dawn, live), Bridear (Still Burning, newly released MV) and Lovebites (pretty much anything). That's just the tip of the iceberg. Japan is drowning in shredders, most of them young women.
Name me a band that can release an MV without one of their strongest weapons in the form of their vocalist without losing even a bit of what makes them special. ❤🔥🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊
Great reaction😁 You should check out the double live video of the songs Manners and Blackhole were you get to see two very different sides of this band😀👍
When I think of truly great riff-writers 2 names come first to my mind. Tony Iommi and Kanami Tono. Tony’s got many years on her, and is legendary of course, but Kanami has done incredibly well for herself in a short time. Definitely my favorite current guitarist.
I think Kanami is using the Eventide H9 Harmonizer pedal to gain that effect that you mentioned. She have gone to a Bogner head w/ Mesa cab. Her high sound cuts through and we can hear it now, so sweet, Po! What do I know, I play Bass, Po! 🦍🍌 PS Kanami is a classically trained pianist, and a DAW (Cubase) master, Po! She does all the backing stuff, i.e., piano, synth. Btw, great job on name pronunciation and Band Maid instrumentals (and there are a few) are AKA, Saiki "Pee break" section, Po!
@totoleheros1980 I lied once I heard 1st I was hooked but not in good reason , I went onto a quest to find a bad band maid song I can say I failed epically in my quest for said journey n I found all u maidiacs, band of maids for life thank all of you maidiacs
Except in the instrumentals Kanami's solos are short and sweet. Every time. btw, in this song when she does that high sustained bend going into the chorus she does not do it when Live, she subs a 4 note run in it's place. Never heard why she would sub that out because that's the biggest hook for me in this song. Maybe afraid of breaking a string? 🤣She nails the song Live tho I can attest to that. Another instrumental but Live is ONSET. The band is a firestorm. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace. 1.35
Gotta keep her sensei the guitar tech happy. She only travels with two guitars and they don't have much between songs. So maybe that's it. She has natural and complete perfect pitch so no Hendrix style pitch drift.
By the way, Kanami is a classically trained pianist. She composes most of the band's backtrack music. She is also a prolific composer who composes most of their songs.
OK, here's the sampler of the current top Japanese hard rock/metal bands that you should review: 1) Band Maid "Giovanni" (MV, instrumental, 2021) 2) Lovebites "Swan Song" [with Chopin Intro, live] (2022) 3) Nemophila "Rise" (Official Live, 2024) 4) Hanabie "Otaku, Lovely Denetsu" (Official MV, 2024) 5) Aldious, with Maki Oyama "We Are" (Official Live, 2021) and, for something different, an extra credit bonus: 6) East of Eden "Evolve" [extended version] (Official MV, 2023) There are tons of other quality Japanese all-female hard rock/metal/punk bands out there (really) -- plus female-fronted bands (e.g. Mardelas) and all-male bands (e.g. Coffin) -- but the above list is a good intro to the scene. In your free time, you can check-out Japanese all-female hard rock/metal bands that are defunct (e.g. Telecide "Cycle of Addiction" Official MV) or "on hiatus" Mary's Blood ("I'm Dead", Live from the Liquid Room).
Seeing as half way through their career saiki had to have surgery for polyps on her vocal chords i think she would stay far from smoking. But she came back with a vengeance and her vocals are way better since she has done a lot of training. Pre surgery they used to have to do their instrumentals to give her a break
Though she is called The Barefoot Assassin she's usually wearing stockings. All backing tracks, unless it's a doubled vocal or something, are Kanami, usually right from the demo. Even when Akane & MISA get it it has suggested tracks, but Akane often complains, "This drum part cannot be played by a human being".
Kanami's solos are usually short and sweet, if you want to hear her guitar, go for live version. And def get The Day of Maid blu-ray when or if it's released. It's non-stop awesomeness if you are into faster, energetic and proggier songs, we also love their slow rock ballads and pop-punk, hard-rock tunes but you maybe more into Band-Maid 2020s. Saiki has recently played piano first time on stage, then played keyboard in acoustic version of one of their songs. I couldn't say when, but I can easily imagine Kanami giving key part to Saiki in sometime in the future if Saiki perseveres.
If your doing Japan...you have to do Babymetal, they gave birth to all these other metal rock bands in Japan. Check out "Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live" (seeing your a musician yourself this is the one to react too. Kami band is front and center, invite only arena.) And if you want to check out one of their more recent shows in your own time to see if this is even something you want to react to, check out... "Maya live at pia arena" they'll pass the listen test 🔥💯🎶
I don't think it was a piano you heard. It sounds more like Kanami over-dubbed a part that picked at the strings above the nut, which, as you know, makes a piano-like sound. That girl is brilliant!!
Gotta add Hanabie, really young kids not long out of high-school killing the metalcore in their own sweet crazy way. Start with their "Pardon me I have to go now" MV because it's a classic "why school sucks" genre piece.
So talking to a freind to see if we could find a song for you to react to that there is no way youve ever heard he suggested GWAR and i slapped him but we think we got one for you .....BONEY M - RASPUTIN lol
Band-Maid ain't no illusion, no matter how they're videoed. 🤘🏻😉 btw - The song and how they play it is what's important, right? Not some trivial MV production thing.
Fantastic reaction. Kanami often uses piano' as a decorative background track. She's played piano since age 3.
Amazing!

I wish I could relive my original trip down the pigeonhole again!

Masterpiece...❤
MISA all in black blending into the background like a true Barefoot Assassin strikes hard and blends back into the darkness.
I love this girls nice reaction greeting from germany Japan Rock 🤘
Thank you for reacting to BAND-MAID.
Yes, you are right. kanami uses Eventide H9 Harmonizer as octaver.😊
Great reaction Master Twistedshredder. Keep on Rockin'....next up check out a two-for with "Manners" and "Black Hole" OLV. It will give you two completely different vibes. It's fun to see Herman Li react to this. Solid respect from a guy who knows what he's seeing.

She naughty for sure.😈

Best hard rock band on the earth❗️

Whenever you can't find the Barefoot Assassin, look to the shadows.
Actually Kanami's string breaking at the end WAS a good idea. Kudos for that.👍

I love From Now On, but all the maid's instrumentals are awesome. My personal favorite is Without Holding Back.
The second time I saw them, I had a direct line of sight to Kanami's hands when they played this. She was just a blur, and had her eyes closed most of the time. Nuts.

Heck, they can remove their lead singer, Saiki, and their lead guitarist, Kanami, and still sound spectacular 😉
@@RahimRahmat 💯% ... maybe Akane & Misa should create a little 'side project' for next years april fools day 🤔
messing with the second verse may be Kanami's signature move as a composer, if you like that she will never let you down
Great reaction😁
You should check out the double live video of the songs Manners and Blackhole were you get to see two very different sides of this band😀👍
Look forward to it! Thanks!

And you should also check out WITHOUT HOLDING BACK with special guest audition from Herman Li.
Haven't seen the video bit the fact that he came back to Band-Maid 🤘🔥💪
No way i could hold back!

Kanami is a Maid. Sweeping is second nature 😏
hahahaha
Well said!!
IMO, when Kanami's muted guitar catches the drums after the fill, that is one of the high lights of this masterpiece of a song.
Back for more i see , n cheers ambassador po!
🍺🤘🏻😁
Manners/Black Hole live should be the next Band-Maid rabbit hole you go down.
"Solid Rock" #BandMaid
The most suitable B-M song after these 2 would be "Shambles".
Dude u went from zero to maidiac in 2 songs , it took me like 4
Haha!
I was in at 3!😂🤘
Lol
Took me two : Thrill and Dice
@totoleheros1980 I lied once I heard 1st I was hooked but not in good reason , I went onto a quest to find a bad band maid song I can say I failed epically in my quest for said journey n I found all u maidiacs, band of maids for life thank all of you maidiacs

Queen Kanami!!!!
Good to know. 😊
She’s a genius
And, apparently, she started to play guitar when she was 20 years old!! Some people are just born with a gift.
OK, here's the sampler of the current top Japanese hard rock/metal bands that you should review:
1) Band Maid "Giovanni" (MV, instrumental, 2021)
2) Lovebites "Swan Song" [with Chopin Intro, live] (2022)
3) Nemophila "Rise" (Official Live, 2024)
4) Hanabie "Otaku, Lovely Denetsu" (Official MV, 2024)
5) Aldious, with Maki Oyama "We Are" (Official Live, 2021)
and, for something different, an extra credit bonus:
6) East of Eden "Evolve" [extended version] (Official MV, 2023)
There are tons of other quality Japanese all-female hard rock/metal/punk bands out there (really) -- plus female-fronted bands (e.g.
Make that Coffins, not Coffin -- it pays to proofread before posting (oops).
Rolling Quartz out of Korea is pretty cool. The track Fearless is fantastic

👍
I was confused because the thumbnail was "onset" but it started "from now on"
Roger is a legend when it comes to promoting the Maids!
Yes re Love Bites!
Yes re Nemophila!
And don't forget about Hanabie!👊🤘🙏
Can't think of a modern band that could/would release an instrumental as a single, these ladies have no fear
Next instrumental Giovanni
Kanami's solos are usually short and sweet, if you want to hear her guitar, go for live version. And def get The Day of Maid blu-ray when or if it's released. Kanami's using an Eventide H9 for her octave tone...
Good job, thank you !! (That's selfish but how about sticking with them for a while ?? 😂😂)
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!

"Maya live at pia arena" they'll pass the listen test 🔥💯🎶
If you like dueling shred guitars… you have to react to LOVEBITES…
I reacted to holy wars, it did not dissapoint!
Next song onset live pls 😅
Man respect, I know you read all those comments
I do my best with the time i have
aktuell they are on tour in Japan with The Warning ,, I Hope there are some song together .)
Love bandmaid!! Oh, youWant 'boss". Try babymetal bxmxc.
Oh yes
I don't think it was a piano you heard. It sounds more like Kanami over-dubbed a part that picked at the strings above the nut, which, as you know, makes a piano-like sound. That girl is brilliant!!
japanese bands write some killer instrumentals check out ASTERISM " DAWN" if you have time
Miku's guitar is so expensive😂
Gotta add Hanabie, really young kids not long out of high-school killing the metalcore in their own sweet crazy way. Start with their "Pardon me I have to go now" MV because it's a classic "why school sucks" genre piece.
Saiki was on a toilet break.
So talking to a freind to see if we could find a song for you to react to that there is no way youve ever heard he suggested GWAR and i slapped him but we think we got one for you .....BONEY M - RASPUTIN lol
The Devil’s Killing Merry Go Round-Diabolos, they’re an alt-idol group.
I have definitely heard GWAR before lol!
The illusion would be better if their amplifiers were connected and switched on.
Band-Maid ain't no illusion, no matter how they're videoed. 🤘🏻😉 btw - The song and how they play it is what's important, right? Not some trivial MV production thing.
death metal punk?
