    I think why gacha is popular even before "gacha games" were popular is because people are interested in chances. Even if there's only a 0.01 percent chance of getting stuff you wanted, they will try to gacha regardless if you really really like the rewards

      There's a handy word for that: gambling

    Personally I absolutely see lootboxes & gacha as two shades of the same kids gambling.
    Good primer into the topic for those that are unfamiliar with gacha 🙌

      @@gardenburgerr At no point in the video did he tell us THE SHOCKING TRUTH of why gacha games became more popular.

    • @gardenburgerr
      @gardenburgerr 3 місяці тому

      @@Swagbastian I would argue that he did. He stated that it’s because the games are as close to gambling as they can legally get, they’re free and easily accessible, and that players want to “collect” their favorite characters/skins/outfits. I think a free and accessible game being akin to gambling is truly shocking, especially to those that aren’t fully knowledgeable of the gaming industry.

      @@gardenburgerr Well it's not shocking to me and it wasn't presented as shocking in the video. He just said it casually.

      @@Swagbastian Thank you for explaining your point of view! I respectfully disagree, but to each their own.

    This reminds me of when I would spend hours watching CS:GO case opening videos, knowing nothing about the various weapons

    If you want to play a good gacha, play Azur Lane.
    (where the main source of currency is actually from the skins; not the gacha itself)

    My money spending with Genshin started right at the beginning when my first 10 pull got me the limited 5 star that was the leader of a nation (archon). Because of that I felt the game was rather generous and so I started getting the battle pass, having calculated that was the most money efficient method

      But then in January of 2021, I spent too much money. I great part cuz I wanted to kit out this character I wanted. And in no small part due to a personal relationship ending and my wanting to distract myself from going back to it
