I bought the hybrid Lariat and I’m getting about 39 mpg. The truck drives really well. I use the bed every weekend and I don’t mind the smaller bed size. I commute about 65 miles/day so I like the mileage

This was exactly what I wanted. I've owned trucks all my life and they have all been large work use trucks. Now that I am older and no longer do construction, I wanted a small weekend warrior truck. Looking around I quickly realized that there weren't any new small trucks being made anymore for the US market. They were all gigantic behemoths that came with a price tag that matched that of a small home. No thanks! When I saw an internet story last year about the Maverick I knew that was exactly what I was looking for. I ordered my XL (I am very much a 'the simpler the better' when it comes to vehicles) when they opened up the order bank last June. I finally took delivery last week (a full year of waiting!) and love it. This little truck is getting 42 mpg right off the lot and is exactly what I was looking for. I am very much not a fan of American vehicles because of too many bad experiences with them but decided to give Ford a chance with this. If it holds up long term, I won't be so hesitant to look at Ford again in the future.

I have an XLT Hybrid Maverick in Velocity Blue already ordered since August .. I don't tow anything... so not a big deal for me.. also room for 5 people if needed.. great gas mileage and Fords hybrid technologies are very reliable.. not a CVT... it's eCVT.. planetary gears instead of belt driven... same design as the Toyota prius.. I have done alot of research on making my decision for the hybrid..

At around 6,000 miles driven to date, my 2.0L Ecoboost 4x4, Off Road w/tow package, I'm getting 32.5 mpg average. I do have a Tonneau Cover, which probably helps with the mpg. Also, I live in the hilly country of central New Hampshire which gets a lot of snow in the Winter. I have never been let down driving in the snow. This small truck has by far, exceeded my expectations !!! XD

Wouldn't mind a Maverick. However, I would want Hybrid + AWD.

Got the hybrid for work. I’m a project manager for a construction company.. Really just inspect sights, and drive… A LOT. So far it’s nice… People seem to like it. Of course the fact that it’s a hybrid is a conversation starter, but the shocker is the 37-40 mpg I’m getting. It’s smooth, nice, simple, handles well. Plenty of room for the driver, and even for a couple in the back. I’ve never filled it since PM’s kind of work alone (bring my trained dog along sometimes). But there’s definitely some room back there. The space under the seat is nice, I have a fancy pair of jumper cables, a couple of drills, angle grinder , some wrenches and other small tools that I keep down there just in case. I still have to spare. The user Interface is intuitive and easy to use. It’s nice and discreet at night as far as the console goes, it’s dark and the only things that need to be lit are. Which is nice, since I hate having bright buttons and light bars and knobs everywhere looking like a rocket ship. Plenty of places for charging plus outlets. It’s a nice daily drive, and helps avoid the pump for about a month haha.

I don't need a truck to load timber or to pull a trailer. I simply need a truck that I can throw a couple of bicycles on for weekends. The Ford Maverick is the only truck out there that isn't overkill. I'm amazed Ford is the only company that had the idea of making a small fuel efficient truck like this.

The hybrid is an absolute steal. I chose the 2.0 awd xlt as I wanted some of the additional options and still there’s no other “truck” equipped like it for similar money. Very excited for the market that these little trucks have opened back up.

The Maverick is what the Ranger should of been when they brought it back! Sucks the dealers are gouging customers. They call it a customer care package. I laughed when they told me this and told them it was a customer gouge package.

We ordered a Maverick Hybrid Lariat in December 2020, - finally it’s going into production September 19, 2022. We think it’ll be worth the wait!

Ended up creating an XL with the Ecoboost FWD, it seems to be the best balance between performance and reliability considering I live in a huge city and want more POWAH! It's pretty cool how you can get an XL instead of an XLT and you're basically trading the rims+tailgate autolock+cruise control for an upgraded powertrain. I ended up adding a few options to make it perfect. Trailer Hitch, Spray in bed liner, sliding rear window, rear power inverter, co-pilot 360 that adds sensors and power mirrors, all weather floor mats, full size spare, tailgate lock, rim lugnut locks. The determining factor between both was a test drive, the Hybrid gets up to 30ish pretty quick but is SLUGGISH after that, getting onto the highway took precision to time it correctly, with the Ecoboost you hit the pedal and you're on the highway at your convenience. Another issue with the hybrid is passing power on the highway, when you have someone riding you and you need to get over but someone is ahead of you, you're forced to slow down to get behind them, but with the ecoboost you can overtake and get back over into the slow lane. This is just a minor thing, but if you travel short distances and use a highway it's worth taking into consideration.

I have a hybrid Lariat Lux package and love it. I'm getting 43.8 average mpg at the time, and that's a mix of city and highway driving.

Anyone in New England would go with the AWD option just due to road conditions but the gas mileage with the hybrid is very compelling.

Thanks for the video. I have a Hybrid Maverick on order since 7/1/21. Still waiting for it. I can't wait to get it and start driving it and seeing what kind of MPG I can get out of it. This will also be my first vehicle with a bed, so that is another thing I am looking forward to. I have a lot of plans this summer for camping and other things to make use of it.

Dealers are adding 5-15k dealer markups on the hybrids that are trickling to the lots. Most folks that want one right now are pretty much going to have to wait till August to order one for 2023 delivery. I ended up getting a fully loaded Maverick FX4 Lariat for 36 out the door, real world highway MPG I get up to 32 MPG/ 24-25 city. No regrets, excellent truck so far!

I see a lot of price gauging on these already trying to sell these at 49,000 totally ridiculous.

I think I'd want the utility of a plugin but I am definitely glad they are going in this direction. Just the small size and price point alone are pretty attractive qualities. No AWD in the hybrid is a massive bummer though, still, I think I'm a bit biased towards AWD, I mean I get along fine with it now and I don't like to realistically think I'd be doing a host of different activities because I bought a new truck.
