Thanks for the spray in bed liner tip. I just ordered my XLT and Ford stopped the spray in bed liner offer, even within a package. They credited me $645 and putting in a drop in plastic bed liner for “free”. Thanks for your time providing info.
This truck with a rear seat delete kit would be awesome as an HVAC contractor. I have been looking at high roof - European style vans, but the mileage this things gets with AWD is impressive. I would tow a small trailer for installs or bigger jobs.
Once you add a few options to both the XL or XLT, it seems like a jump in models makes more sense. I am going to order 2023 and am stuck between XLT with luxury takes me close to Lariat and leather seats. If I remote the. start, do I need to put key in dash, or can it run from there?
I hope I understood your question. When you remote start the vehicle when you enter it will not go anywhere unless you put tue key in. For keyless models the key fob needs to be on you and you need to to depress the brake and hit thst start stop button.
I highly recommend not ordering the plastic bedliner and rubber mats as this will delay your order and add months to your wait time. Instead order them from the parts department. As for the price I have a build and price.video that will help you use the build and price website from Ford. Just keep in mind that 2023 pricing will be higher and available in several weeks. The order guide for 2023 will come out hopefully before August 2nd.
Thank you for all this information. I went to a dealer in Mendon Massachusetts USA, they had three Mavericks in stock, I test drove a 2.0L AWD model XL and liked it a lot. They have added a lot of extra options which brought the price up. If they call me and can meet me close to my budget, I just might buy it.
Normally their is no wiggle room on a Maverick at MSRP but if they upcharged a lot more than cost f those added options then their is a chance. Good luck I hope it works out for you.
About how long is delivery taking when an order is put in, Feb 2022? Also for ordering in general, are you expected to pay sticker or is there room for negotiation?
Sticker for payment. There is very little profit to be made for dealers. Check the internet to see of the month you order if their is a promotion either as a rebate or interest rate. As for ordering in February well it will be built after October 24th without a doubt. How much or if it goes I to 2023 depends on the dealer you order from.
I've been waiting 6 months already for my Maverick. I ordered all the wrong things for expediency, the Hybrid, XLT with the luxury package, spray in bed liner, and CoPilot 360.
Exactly what I would like to get. Unfortunately from what I've read the 2022 stock of hybrids is already all reserved. Hoping Ford finds a way to increase production for 2023, and other companies see the demand and move into the market.
At this point any ordered now will not be accepted by factory as 2022s are being g built for those thst have had their order in now for months. Either find a dealer that will take your build and put it in inline to order it as soon as order banks for the Maverick open or be their the morning they do open for 2023.
BACK IN March April of 2021 there was transit connect speculation and I pushed hard to explain why bit made more sense to base it on the Escape/or corsair. It has the Corsair motor and tranny also offered as a high trim option on Escape and it the platform that underpins both including the Bronco Sport
I have a 2007 Ford Explorer Sports Trak Limited that I love, but the technology isn't there for today's world. I have been looking at Tacomas, Frontiers and Santa Cruzes as well. The one Maverick I saw on the lot was under contract so I couldn't test it out. Is this the best option to replace my beloved Sports Trak?
Great question. A tough one. If you don't mi waiting, yes. 100% the best option if total price paid is important, as well as fuel economy. On value the Maverick is way ahead of the pack. It drives very well and is very easy to manoeuvre. If you are in a hurry then the Maverick is not a good option
Very informative. I have been looking at some of the older Rangers, and am now thinking this reinvented Maverick XLT. Finished entire video. Thanks for sharing, easy to follow.
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews I ordered mine on jan 8th any & still haven't recieved an email from ford.Would you have any idea when i can expect an order confirmation?
D C that is a good safety measure you have in place. Thank you for watching and for dropping a comment. Take care and have a great week!
Yeah I don't have the full story on why the Sport mode is removed. Personally it does not bother me as I've only ever used sport mode on my mustsng gt but I am curious of this is an engineering or marketing decision.
With bigger rad and bigger engine fan it's hard to believe removing Sport mode was necessary as the high rpms before shift are less affected as the cooling on the fx4 is better
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews these were my thoughts exactly, still on the fence with what package will suit me more, it technically will be more of a “work truck” so my other vehicle I think will suffice with my sport mode needs
Ford NEEDS to add: a factory electric rear window defroster option on all Mavericks, a factory fog light option on all Mavericks, a factory cruise control option on the XL, a factory ventilated front seats option on the XLT and Lariat.
Also a factory stand alone option for Heated Seats with Heated Steering Wheel. Having to pay an extra $4785 to get an XLT with LUXURY Package to get heated seats is just plain criminal...
I bought an absolute base model '21 Ranger 4x4 with only the locking rear diff.. No cruise control and used it to road trip my whole life cross-country (CA to OH.) I have remote start with the app and have all the same towing capability (once I add a trailer brake controller) as the factory tow package. I'm 28, but I guess since that I've never had a CC vehicle I haven't really cared for it. I paid 32k (had the dealer eat the cost for destination and taxes), but that was because I wanted the 4 door and 4x4 since I didn't know where my life would be in the next 5 years. I will groan about the lack of the rear defroster and manual sliding rear window.
W B those are some good points as many desire exactly that. Ofcourse automobile manufacturers set things up so the base model draws you in and then they make money when we upgrade 1 or 2 trims. Thank you for dropping a comment and for watching.
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews you are very welcome. You put out great content and come across as such a likeable person. I'm glad my comment served as encouragement. Keep up the good work.
Nice overall review. I am hoping the 2023 brings with it a hybrid AWD Maverick. If they can do that, with XLT + luxury package under 30k, I think I'll be trying it out.
So yeah, we looked at a ford dealership today, and we kind of know what we want….in terms of getting our maverick ordered good video with the options…thanks🌈😃🤙
Not to mention that any bugs that may arise from the first run of the development might be corrected by the time the Maverick I order is ready to go, so double win.
Ordering Lariat just for the pushbutton start. Hate digging my keys out of my pocket. Wish they had different interior option. Not a fan of the brown color.
I'm the same in regards to digging for keys however I like the Brown interior bit don't see why a second color was not offered. Ased on comment sna day experience, I'm sure it would have increased Lariat sales.
I think you might get a little bit more bass out of your Rockford. The BNO system comes in very clearly and you hear all the instruments that is it's huge better. Extreme base is not something it has but it does have enough base to sound real good
That will be up to the brakes and as such cannot say at the moment, but as you go down in wheel size the overall diameter should be respected so less wheel means more tire. No more than a 3% difference should be taken on for the sake of the odometer and speedometer. Visually I'd be surprised if 16 inch wheels would fit.
The keypad is the best feature offered by ford. Men don’t carry purses. And my key ring has a shit load of keys on it. I hate carrying it around. Locking them in the truck is my go to move.
I am bummed that the 4K Tow Pkg does not include the 6.5" upgraded display in the instrument cluster. I had to get the FX4 for just that as I don't care about going offroad.
Got my XLT hybrid four days ago. There’s a lot there. My biggest wish would be to have a booklet for the XL, XLT, and Lariat. I have spent time looking for stuff I don’t have and discovering stuff I DO have (talking you, heated steering wheel) It’s Area 51 which everyone likes. We are among winter storms so I haven’t been anywhere. Thanks for a good video.
Great points Thomas. That is why I started covering the Maverick from day 1. There was a lot of confusing or misleading info. I think car companies have enough sales experience to know what options customers are willing to spend money to have on a new car and cleverly craft the packages to extract max revenue. The only organizations better at separating you from your money is the “Mouse” in central Florida and Cruise lines. We decided we wanted an xlt Maverick with the safety so ok Copilot$$. Then heated seats, heated mirrors, spray in liner and hitch so ok xlt lux package$$$. Then we had a short 50 degree cool down in early October so my wife insists on cranking the single zone heat all the way up to hot. Well I’m not going to fuss or bake all through the cool fall and spring weather so dual control heat, Lariat$$$$. Adaptive cruise and lane centering would be nice so yep lariat lux$$$$$. So on October 20 after test driving a Maverick we ordered one. All this extra $$$$$ is possible because Carvana offered a stupid amount of money for my 2010 Tacoma. The money is in the bank waiting for the Maverick.
You have so well summarized many people experience. Had it been my Maverick then the same would have happened to me. Marie was able to remind me that I'll be in the truck less than 10% of my driving time and thst it's her money so she did a good job of stopping at xlt lux but originally wanted an xl...bit you know heated seats up North
Good information. I wished it had been around when we ordered my wife's in August - scheduled for production in 3 weeks; I wonder of the sprayin bedliner was part of the delay. At any rate, well done. i will recommend your video to anyone is looking to get a Maverick. Thanks for the video and time. Cheers mate!
Great show Johny as usual! My June 11 ordered XLT hybrid with build date supposedly is still "in production" as of week of Dec. 20th. Not completed yet. I wonder if the spray in bedliner is holding it up. 😪
Very informative video! FYI... the Evasive Steering Assist does not automatically steer the vehicle. If the driver does not make any steering inputs, then the system will do nothing except brake the vehicle. The driver must initiate an emergency swerve in an attempt to avoid an obstacle. The Evasive Steering Assist will then assist with the emergency maneuver through additional steering support to avoid the obstacle. Drivers will often yank the wheel in a panic, but not yank the wheel far enough to swerve around. This system attempts to correct that.
Thank you for watching and for the intel. My 2015 mustang GT completely jersey me to the left and I actually fought the system and tried to steer right as I thought he road had made me swerve. Result was I just skimmed the rear bumper of a car stopped at a green light. Has it changed since then?
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews That’s interesting and perplexing. I don’t know what happened there. Were you (or the car’s safety system) braking hard? It’s not uncommon for a car to pull or rotate under hard braking… Ford didn’t debut Evasive Steering Assist technology until late 2016, and it has never been available in the Mustang for whatever reason. The system doesn’t automatically swerve for you because the vehicle is not equipped with sensors to determine if swerving will hit another vehicle. Ford can avoid liability by only activating the system when the driver initiates a swerve, putting the responsibility in the hands of the driver. This is the same reason why the parking assist features require the driver to operate the throttle and brakes in the older systems or why the driver must constantly depress a button in the newer systems… the driver is always in control and the vehicle’s system is just assisting. Or so they would argue.
I think Ford did a beautiful job on the options this is actually been the best vehicle to buy in all my years of buying cars and I’m looking forward to this one be about six months but I’m not in any hurry I still got a car and will be summertime when I get it so I’ll be fine
I'd be interested to see how the door Keypad system has worked over the years it's been used. Do badgers like to mess with them & what happens if someone takes a hammer to it or prize it off with a chisel or something, will the owner still be able to get in the vehicle ?
Get into he vehicle yes. Look good no. If you live in an area with people hammering things of vehicles some justice needs to take place or its time to move
Water no issues. Mud can cause problems only because its a Front wheel drive so less traction but nonetheless I was very impressed when driving it in 3 times in snowstorms.
So can you go for two packages, such as luxury and 4k tow? Is there overlap between the tow package and off-road package that would make you not get both?
Hi Dylan. Thank you for trusting me with your question. Ues you can get multiple packages. Their is some overlap between 4k and FX4 but at the price of the FX4 package vs what it offers other than the larger Radiator and cooling fan.
I don't want a lot of tech in it but I do want a hybrid. The fewer sensors and electronics, the better. In my other cars I have only had long term problems with electronics. Let's face it, those components just don't last.
On older Rangers, we could get key blanks from Ebay and program them ourselves. It was a procedure easy to do. Can we make extra keys that way in a Maverick? (dealers kill us to make extra keys)

I lived in Korea for 8 years. Hi-yoon-dye or hah-oon-dye Another one is sahm-soong. Really depends on the region and accent. Korean is cleaner and more articulate for those in Seoul further south in Ulsan where the factories are located is rougher and more harsh sounding.
I didn't realize there was no cruise in the XL. Having driven cross country once without it, that's really a "never again" scenario for me. When you're on a highway in the Midwest doing 80 for five hours straight, it's not about learning to drive without it. It's about it being a genuine PITA lol. Honestly can't believe it's not even an option on the XL. Heated seats I can take or leave. Cruise is non negotiable.
Long haul highway where everyone drives fast...Great point, thank you for making it. Here there are so many slow drivers that we are constantly varying the speed anyways. Had not thought of ot from.ypur perspective. I appreciate your share Bela. Thank you
Never had cruise control in my life and I made the drive from CA to OH wasn't that bad. Yet again, might be different if I had experienced it then not had it.
My son wants a single cab F150 for his first car. I would have to get him a base XL F150 or I could get him a well optioned Maverick for the same price. I am assuming the full size F150 would be a safer choice in the event of an accident though? Any thoughts??
That Guy, thank you for trusting me with such an important question. I'm honored. The F150 is unbeatable in regards to safety. Ask any police officer with experience. The Bronco Sport also has 5 stars in every category except roll over. Same unibody as Maverick On paper. It's equally rated to the f150 but I HAVE TO STILL make an educated guess and argue that history has proven that the F150 is thus far unbeatable. In no way wi the Maverick be bad or ordinary in this aspect so also a safe choice. Thank you again

I want the off road package and the towing package, plastic bed liner, rubber floor mats, not to big on the luxury items, what would this cost?
I highly recommend not ordering the plastic bedliner and rubber mats as this will delay your order and add months to your wait time. Instead order them from the parts department. As for the price I have a build and price.video that will help you use the build and price website from Ford. Just keep in mind that 2023 pricing will be higher and available in several weeks. The order guide for 2023 will come out hopefully before August 2nd.
Finisher. Great info. Thanks!
Thank you for watching and for the support. I appreciate it
Thank you for all this information.
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews thank you sir
Full size spare tire comes standard on all trims? Thanks
Full size spare std. With Hybrid. Pg 3, pg 10, 11, 7, 6, of the order guide. So optional on Ecoboost. Hope this helps. You can also build it online.
No Sirius/XM or Navigation unless you connect your smartphone? If you leave your phone home or are out of cell range those features are lost?
Unfortunately you're indeed correct
Your pronunciation is excellent. I admire this quality greatly.
Thank yuu Snowy Owl for watching and unless this is sarcasm then it is very encouraging and appreciated.
finisher! Thanks Johny..great as always (Deb)
Ifninwas in more of a hurry I'd swap to the new code Luxury package with drop in liner
Finisher ! Awesome info, thx so much. At this point, May 2022, is it worth just ordering a 2023 ??
At this point any ordered now will not be accepted by factory as 2022s are being g built for those thst have had their order in now for months. Either find a dealer that will take your build and put it in inline to order it as soon as order banks for the Maverick open or be their the morning they do open for 2023.
Phenomenal review, really great info
Thanknyou for watching the comment and the support is truly appreciated. Very encouraging.
Reminds me of a transit connect chopped to a pickup wonder if it's the same transmission and undercarriage on the front wheel drive unit
BACK IN March April of 2021 there was transit connect speculation and I pushed hard to explain why bit made more sense to base it on the Escape/or corsair. It has the Corsair motor and tranny also offered as a high trim option on Escape and it the platform that underpins both including the Bronco Sport
Booyah 👊🏽😁, still waiting for my Maverick hybrid XL. Hopefully April or May delivery 🙏🏽😬
The Maverick is 1st in value. It's a great truck but it's last when it comes to availability.
I'm getting an XLT with the luxury package but I would like active cruise control, can I add it on after?
Unfortunately not currently tly toy knowledge and something like thst I would not leave to the aftermarket.
Very informative. I have been looking at some of the older Rangers, and am now thinking this reinvented Maverick XLT. Finished entire video. Thanks for sharing, easy to follow.
Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment that adds perspective.

Hey Johnny, any news on builds for this month?
No new news that I have not already shared no. When I get new news I'll gladly share
Finisher! I've been interested in Maverick but hesitate because of it being a "new" model... Thanks for making this.
D C that is a good safety measure you have in place. Do keep in mind most and I mean over 90% of this vehicle has quality pass me down parts that helped with keeping cost down as well as having a greater deal of reliabilty off the get go. Thank you for watching and for dropping a comment. Take care and have a great week!
Any thoughts on the loss of the sport mode when taking the fx4 option?
Ford NEEDS to add:
a factory electric rear window defroster option on all Mavericks,
a factory fog light option on all Mavericks,
a factory cruise control option on the XL,
a factory ventilated front seats option on the XLT and Lariat.
And split rear seats for us parents haha.
Ventilated? I’m guessing you mean A/C in the seats. That’s requires leather.
W B those are some good points as many desire exactly that. Ofcourse automobile manufacturers set things up so the base model draws you in and then they make money when we upgrade 1 or 2 trims. Thank you for dropping a comment and for watching.

I'm totally fine with waiting for the spray in bed liner. They tend to last much longer than plastic liners in my area
Joshua that is a very good point. Thank ypu for watching and for taking the time to drop a comment. It helps the community here grow.
Ased on comment sna day experience, I'm sure it would have increased Lariat sales.
finisher, thanks for a bunch of info I just cant decide on my truck
Good luck and thank you.for watching.
I currently have a Rockford-Fosgate with a Sub that came with my vehicle How close is the B&O to that?
I think you might get a little bit more bass out of your Rockford. The BNO system comes in very clearly and you hear all the instruments that is it's huge better. Extreme base is not something it has but it does have enough base to sound real good
the dealers in my area are charging a mark-up of 25k for the lariat hybrid.. its crazy out there
It is the wild west of sales these days. Houses have exploded in proce as well
how small diameter of a wheel will fit? Looking for max distance for curb defense
Thanks for all your knowledge on the maverick! I have been waiting patiently for over 5 months now and enjoy your program!

Is CarPlay wired or wireless?
Wored Ragon. Thank you for trusting me with your question. The order guide is a great place to ensure accuracy.
The keypad is the best feature offered by ford. Men don’t carry purses. And my key ring has a shit load of keys on it. I hate carrying it around. Locking them in the truck is my go to move.
Lol. True most don't. I've ruined pockets due to keys so yes the keypad is a winner
I am bummed that the 4K Tow Pkg does not include the 6.5" upgraded display in the instrument cluster. I had to get the FX4 for just that as I don't care about going offroad.
Great point that I talk about in tonight's episode 3
I am interested but want a radio with a CD player. I know I have to wait about 8 months.
If my recollection serves me correctly Beckley there is no Maverick that comes with A CD player.

Joshia thst would be the luxury package. Thanks for the question and I hope I've been helpful. Thank you for watching and subscribing.

@@Johnnyscarcarereviews 《☆》Thanks. Ya I'm for justice too👍✔Sentences don't seem to fit the crimes nowadays & they find ways to hack everything🖖🤓🏈

How do the hybrids hold up if driving in mud and water
Water no issues. Mud can cause problems only because its a Front wheel drive so less traction but nonetheless I was very impressed when driving it in 3 times in snowstorms.
Does it have parking sensors?
Rear sensors yes
So can you go for two packages, such as luxury and 4k tow? Is there overlap between the tow package and off-road package that would make you not get both?
Hi Dylan. Thank you for trusting me with your question. Ues you can get multiple packages. Their is some overlap between 4k and FX4 but at the price of the FX4 package vs what it offers other than the larger Radiator and cooling fan.
I don't want a lot of tech in it but I do want a hybrid. The fewer sensors and electronics, the better. In my other cars I have only had long term problems with electronics. Let's face it, those components just don't last.

@@robertoramos8257 $31,144.00 minus my X Pricing which I think was around $700.00 and they took the $499.00 Doc fee off because Ford stopped giving the Veterans Discount to Vietnam Veterans (go figure) and I’ve bought a ton of vehicles from them.
@@Johnnyscarcarereviews I guess in the end its a matter of physics and the F-150 will always win being larger and
heavier.
