Didn't even realize the drama would still continue in graduate school haha
never ends lol
It's in your work life too lol... Never ends
Of all the things you've mentioned I'm envious that you got taught by Angela Duckworth. To have her as a professor would be a dream!
will be making a video about her class soon
But who got the best job offer after mba school? Was it someone popular or someone who got ousted does any of that reputational stuff effect what your there for a good job offer? and what wa the best job offer?
I like your honesty.
same
Great insight.
In my opinion, the true value of obtaining an MBA, especially from Wharton, lies in the NAME.
yup agreed so even when i say the career resources aren't great having a top mba on your resume still helps a lot with recruiting
@@rareliquidDo you regret not doing mba after graduation? Which is the best -> persuing mba after undergrad or after some experience?
@@achuthas2875 You can't do an MBA without work experience.
@@achuthas2875As far as I know you can’t pursue an MBA right after graduation, even with deferred MBA program, which you can apply by the time of graduation, you still need a few years working experience
reply please,What kind of first degree did you do I mean what is the best degree to become an investment bank analyst(Finance major or Maths major)I like finance side so If you do a finance degree will I get a better demand?
Can you elaborate on recruiting for pharma/healthcare? Since I believe Wharton has a pretty strong MBA with a healthcare management major.
Have you spoken about your post-MBA plans? Will you keep working on your own business? Your finance content would tie in well with an education business like Crimson Education especially as IB/PE/VC recruiting becomes increasingly front loaded every year.
nice shirt ben
How do textbooks compare to the Wharton MBA when it comes to knowledge?
books are great resources in general but textbooks i feel like are only good for pretty static topics like if you're trying to understand economics
Did you do your mba just for a street cred? I see you're going to work full time on your channel.
long story but tldr at the end of 2020 i had just closed down my first business which i worked on for 2 years after banking. felt like i needed a career restart so applied to business schools in jan 2021 and while waiting for results started rareliquid which went better than expected and worked on it full time for a year (deferred wharton for personal reasons). then started school in 2022 not sure if i was going to do it but (1) really liked the people i met (2) saw a lot of business opportunities i could combine with rareliquid to earn multiples back the investment made into the mba through new businesses / resources / connections
Nice man you have done a lot of things at the same time. How old are you?
50 years old. how old are you?
@@recursion. I'm 20 years old . But I wanted to know the you-tuber's age
How did you get a green Card in America??
Damn Ben are you still working out? How much do you weigh bro? Your traps are 👌 Putting the rest of us to shame out here with the size you're packing.
and i thought i was the only one thirsting over ben in todays video.
@@avaj2233 A lot of super jacked dudes wear oversized tees like Ben's wearing. No doubt he's hiding a sleeper build 💪 I'm here for MBA info but if there's thirsty content along the way....
LOOLL
Are yall kidding? I was that size when I was 12
honestly i agree i'm not that big i'm lean more than anything lmao but i have been working out consistently
What's next now Ben 👀
This might be a video topic for another day, but did any of the bad/ugly side detract from what you were hoping to get from the MBA?
For example, you mentioned that one of the reasons you wanted to go to school was to network - did you ever find someone who you thought was perfect to network with, but was an absolute twatarse as a person, either because they overstepped boundaries, were self-centred because of wealth, etc?
Also, on that topic, did the idea of networking ever get in the way of you developing friendships where you felt you would have too many friends to juggle or anything like that? I know it sounds cut-throat and Terminator-like, like you're culling friends on Facebook lol, but did you ever have to reflect and reassess if a friendship was worth pursuing based on your initial goals of networking, or was it more go with the flow, see-what-happens kind of deal?
hey barry! the bad / ugly stuff never took away too much from my experience because i steered clear from the bad apples and generally focused on the positives. also felt fortunate to not have to deal with recruiting since i had rareliquid which added different problems but good ones.
re friendships i think they just naturally formed or fell off vs. more calculatively thinking about them. but i do think in an mba setting when you hear someone's background it does affect your first impression of them. but after that it's all about personality and how you get along
Lol I go to SMU this is the lifestyle I see on a daily from UNDERGRAD students... :')
Ok Im finishing this video up, an mba sounds REALLY like my school now Im concerned lol... I cant imagine Cox's mba...
The problem with MBA career centers: the career tracks aside from IB / consulting / marketing / tech don't value an MBA, so it's hard for the career centers to build those corporate relationships
At the M7 yes. Not at schools like Rutgers and Vandy
