    The Elder Scrolls Online is a game I've played for 6 years and have a ton of time sunk into. But with that being said, do I think this game is worth diving into in 2023 with their new chapter of Necrom? This video discusses some information about the game, pros, cons and if it's worth your time to jump into!

    To be honest, it would be easier to have trader like New World, where you can search and buy from anywhere. There is no need to run to a specific trader. ESO has the problem that many traders with good stuffs are in DLC zones and people who don't buy or have sub will not be able to get what they want.

    I concur. As a new player - go questing and have fun. As a vet player - play some other game and wait until ESO is fixed; don't bother buying chapters - it's all milking.

    • @TNTspaz
      @TNTspaz Рік тому

      @@kingutterly9806 I think the main issues vets have with ESO is combat, poorly fleshed out endgame systems, and PvP. Much of the end game content is unapproachable and very sporatic. (There was an update a few months ago that made content across the board harder and nerfed most classes that made a lot of people quit) A lot of the tie ins feel forced and like they are only putting out updates to continue milking the people heavily invested. The way the monetization worked was fine when they did big content drops but now they do expansions as well as very expensive chapters with very little content. Combat is both very dated and very unintuitive. It's some of the worst mmo combat you'll come across with a large player base. Arcanist is the first class with a proper combo system lol
      Personally I think everything in Necrom is a step in the right direction but the community was pretty doomer over the past few months. High Isle for many was the worst expansion the game has ever seen as well as the most wasted.
      Personally I'm still really enjoying the game but I can understand why a lot of high end raiders and PvPers have quit. The game would be 1000x times better if they focused on combat updates for the next year.

    • @sleepykhajiit1875
      @sleepykhajiit1875 Рік тому

      @@TNTspaz how is Necrom a step in the right direction? Same exact content structure as always, no base improvements to the game, no new mechanics or weapons, no overhauls and a new class that is literally the biggest trashfire the game has ever seen, with it lacking a decent DoT and a decent instant damage cast. It's objectively useless in PvP and the weakest class in the game.
      Also, one of the reasons I hated High Isle (and hate the writing/Dev team in general) is they literally stated they wanted a holiday and basically used their job to make one, and it really, really shows.
      The Devs and writers are all insanely well off and out of touch people who write and develop shit for their own amusement and circle-jerk each other, without any consideration for quality, the lore, the fans or the needs of the game. With Necrom, they hyped everyone to no end about morrowind, but they actually just wanted to use that as an excuse to do Hermeus Mora stuff, so Apocrypha is 3x bigger than Necrom and that's where all the content is.
      ESO is honestly like an abusive relationship, ever since I broke off from it all the problems seem so much more clear and I feel genuinely gross even thinking about it and how much they're exploiting us. I hope you have the same realization soon, the game deserves to die.

Also the game is designed to keep you playing to purchase things from the crown store. Leveling in this game TAKES A WHILE! No im not talking about 1-50 im talking about CP, Crafting, Horse training, and other things that are necessary. PVP has lagged for years and not been updated for years. It is fun to create builds, housing and chase things. BUT this game will leave you feeling unaccomplished if you are looking for something rewarding in a short time.

It is entirely unfun to have all of your work and effort potentially made obsolete within a few months and you gotta go back and start from scratch, get all the gear you need, all the food and buffs, or even if your entire class becomes unviable, starting up a new character with a more viable class and having to unlock all of your bag space, all of your mount upgrades, skyshards, quest progress, all over again.

    Regardless of any negatives, ESO is the most immersive MMO on the market. Ive played WoW, BDO, GW2 all for very long periods of time, and always come back to ESO. Theres something about the style of the world, the combat, character progression, diverse build options, quests that arent just "fetch quests", the PVP is great, the graphics are stunning, and its an MMO where you can jump right back in after years, and all your progress is still 100% viable. For anyone to play other MMOs and dislike ESO, must have abused the game for a very long period of time. I hope they continue to build on ESO and make it better for many years to come!

    after playing ESO for many years on and off, chasing achievents, focus on goldmaking for a while, minmaxing builds to see them destroyed... and after a long break and returning again, I now play completely different. I don't mind the content being so easy, actualy I appreate it. I realised what I missed most was simply soaking in the athmosphere, immersing myself in the world. So I had this idea for a more immersive playstyle, mae a character and give it a proper background and reason to do things. No I am not a roleplayer but I take a much more casual approach now, I don't care for minmaxing, I don't chase content, I don't chase gold or achievements, I simply enjoy the dialogues, the storylines, I take my time, II stop and smell the roses. And this is how I enjoy the game again. My new characrter is a female Dunmer Nghtblade, Dark Brotherhood inspired and themed, opportunistic, pragamatic, and whatever she does in the world she does it for a good reason.... I love playing like this, others need not approve. Needless to say I completely ignore lootboxes and cashshop nonsense (I still have more gold than I ever need and I stil enjoy having my old maxed out crafter). So, is it worth playing? For me it is, for now... 🙂

I hear a lot of people complaining about the overland content being too easy but a lot of bosses still kick my ass every time I try to attempt them solo or even sometimes in groups 😂 The biggest issue in the game IMO is that PvP is almost unplayable if you have bad internet, but i’m not a huge PvP guy anyway. My brother and I, we know from SWOTR, can not even stay awake to enjoy the story if the gameplay isn't traditionally challenging. Whereas before this whole 1-50 needs to be easy fad SWTOR class stories were some of the most engaging content we had ever enjoyed. Sadly we've given up on the MMO genre as a whole. If these games ever just give us the option to play how we want then we'll come back. But bosses and dungeons and end game loot are not the main reasons to play MMOs, at least for us. 1-50 content is the most important part.

    I wish there was a group of highly influential content creators that would tackle the issue of ball groups in ESO PvP. I know…nobody gives a crap about PvP…but heal stacking and ball group exploits are a real issue. No player or group of players should have the ability to affect the abilities of other players to stay online and play the game. When these ball groups show up the performance tanks and many times my game crashes and I have to fight to get back into the game. If it is prime time…once you manage to log into the game after the crash you now have a queue to get back into your home campaign. In most cases it take queuing several times to get back in and by then the ball group has ravaged your keep and moved onto another. And even worse…these ball groups primarily exist to farm AP. They will often times move into a keep and leave the doors open so that they can mow down any players trying to defend the keep. These ball groups purposefully leave a few players alive so they may resurrect the others just in time for the ball group to mow them down again. This is abuse. Their intention is not completing objectives but to boost SP and score for their alliance…and even worst…they exploit because they can. These guys use existing game mechanics in ways they were never intended to be used. Unfortunately without continued and regular outrage and attention to the issue from content creators willing to dedicate time to fixing the problem…ZOS will continue ignoring the issue. No player or group of players should have the ability to affect another player’s ability to stay logged into and play the game.

If you don't wanna get terrain cheesed by basically everyone in cyrodiil, cyrodiil is not for you. We all know the best part of cyrodiil is sprinting for 20 minutes to get somewhere just to get ganked/cheesed/meta min/maxed only to back spawn because the zerg cut off your keeps. What's that, you want to get past those zergs? Run for another 20 minutes to get around the front line lock down so you can get 2 tapped by a nightblade just jacking off waiting to clip you for his gank videos. By the gods I love eso

    Haven't played in the last year, but I got into ESO during early lockdown. so 2020. Grinded hardcore, saw a lot of content and then went back to WoW. I came back to ESO a couple of times but in the end I realized that I was done with it. I can definitely recommend it for questing, leveling and doing dungeons. You can grab the game cheap at one of their sales. You have to know that if you play longer than 2 weeks you will probably need a subscription. If you reach maxlevel you DEFINITELY need that subscription. The game is unplayable if you don't have it. ESO is not upfront with you about this, but the game is structured in many ways to inconvenience you. Because it wants you to buy things. And this is why I do not recommend doing any late game stuff in this game. The raiding, the grinding the gear, learning the solo content. Just not worth it. The game punishes you for time invested and forces you to invest even more time. Or money.
    I found a lot of the quests really enjoyable. The first character was a great experience to level. But the endgame is just not that great. There are so many layers of things you have to learn and get into and at the end of the day it all takes endless amounts of time or you can pay for it. WoW at least was honest about the subscription.
    Why don't I come back to this game? Because I played all of the story, and I would have to buy the addon to get like 8 quests. I would need the subscription to have inventory space or not loot anything at all while I play. So that's an investment that I have to do before even taking one step in this game. I have two fully equipped characters and getting them better gear would cost a lot of gold, which means swiping or doing writs (boring dailies that you do on all of your characters every day to get money) or doing some other grind. I never really learned the weaving thing which you need to do good dps for the real endcontent. Don't want to learn it as well for the little endcontent there really is. I don't want to play the same 20 dungeons that I already played 3 years ago (that is with subscription, without its just 10-ish). Every class is 50% the same spells. They all use that ball spell, they all have the backbar buff mechanic. If you dont know, like every 10 seconds you have to switch weapons to get access to another 5 spells and use all of them to buff you then you switch back to your other weapon and use 5 spells until your buffs run out. If you are questing you don't have to do that. But in endgame you have to. And that is super super boring and inconvenient. Especially since EVERY class has to do it. There are builds that use 1 bar, but you have to farm gear for that and it does not compete. The minmaxing in endgame is horrible. The overworld content gets boring, the dungeons get boring, the auction house is inconvenient and inaccessible for new players. The whole game is just a decent solo experience. And a couple of 5 mans are fun.
    If you are rich irl and care about housing then that's fun too.

Can't say about other games, but of the other MMOs I play semi-regularly ESO is the most performant. Sure it's rough on a PS4 or a dogshit PC, but that's true of most games. before you read this just now this isn't some kind of hate speech or anything like that I love Elder scrolls it's just a straight-up answer in an honest opinion: I'll Answer this question "Is it worth it to play ESO", quite frankly, No. It seemed kind of like a get-rich-quick scheme to me! The fact that you have to buy so much with real money instead of just enjoying the game for what it really is, it's just ridiculous. Not only that but also the fact that it's not written by the same people that created the original games on console and on PC, so anyone that's referencing Elder scrolls online when it comes to the lore, really can't be used as a basis for any kind of Canon or Truth. Not to mention it's time-stamped is this millions of years before anything so it's like saying " a long time ago in a galaxy far far away." There's just no real truth. Normally that, no offense.. I really don't like mass multiplayer online role-playing games because I don't know any of the people that are on these games and a lot of times and they won't even follow you on a quest or people just tend to ignore me like you're a static object and it's kind of rude to be treated that way. So Not only was Elder scrolls online seemingly Lore breaking but also it was game-breaking when there's just random people everywhere it's just chaos. I couldn't really immerse myself in Elder scrolls online. I couldn't play it for 15 minutes straight without just getting irritated by the amount of people just jumping around randomly and getting in my way. It kind of took away the exclusivity of the game and they merciless because so many different random people are on there it's kind of took a turn towards World of Warcraft which in my opinion is pretty lame. I don't like online gaming where people can have pretty defensive screen names or just their you know just to be there in the way it's kind of annoying, I just get to a point where I wish my player character could just drive an axe through their face, and get on with the quest at hand. I just feel like it's just too invasive. So again it is online worth playing is it worth it this year No. Not only that but I'm not going to pay to play continuously. You have to buy the base game destiny expansion then the other expansion and other expansions on top of paying all that money hundreds of dollars you have to buy crowns to buy things in the game and level up your character basically, it's just a money trap. It's a financial detriment and a disconnect from immersiveness. I don't mind playing a game with a friend but it should have been done a lot differently. They did the same exact thing with the mobile game Elder scrolls:Blades any sort of did that also with ES:Legends. My philosophy is that once you purchase a game no matter what platform it's on, you shouldn't have to continually be throwing money into something you've already paid for just to level throughout the game to it's conclusion. I mean I would understand if the content was made by another Creator and they've got to get some kind of royalty out of it or something, but if you're going to add that type of system Open marketplace, they're completely forgetting that not everybody is financially able to do that kind of stuff and it kind of excludes them from the damn pretty much and that's what really just shut me out of it and said forget it to all three of those games... That's why I just stick to Elder scrolls arena daggerfall Morrowind and Oblivion and Skyrim... Cuz I own the games I don't have to pay for anything in the games it's all done and I could just enjoy the game content and download free mods that extend the gameplay time the world space is the content that I can use and equip and weapons and just get back to just grinding my character leveling up and clean the way I want to play without having to go check my bank account" do I have enough to buy these crowns" there's none of that in the base game so there we have it.

    The difficulty is a big problem in the game. I always choose a Nord to play in every single Elder Scrolls game. Therefore, I start with in the Ebenheart pact. The first main question has you do a string of quests in order to contain one of the brothers of Strife. For those who don't know, the brothers or strife are like nuclear bombs they're doomsday creatures.
    After hours and hours of questing, you finally come to the big christiando to take down one of the brothers and strife, which is supposed to be this world ending entity. And you slap him a couple of times, and he dies. It is immersion breaking and unsatisfying.
    I do not understand why Zenimax can not improve the damage that the enemies can do to your character or just have difficulty setting that each player can choose what difficulty they want to play at prior to playing the game. It has been done in many other online games.

I´ve been playing MMO´s for 15 years now, from World of Warcraft to ESO and there hasn´t been one where there has been a difficulty setting to choose.

      In regards to WoW Hardcore servers: The only difference from "normal" servers to hardcore servers is - when you die - you die permanently. The character is gone forever. The difficulty "level" of the game itself is the same on normal servers and hardcore servers.
      It´s just that MMO´s get more complex and tricky the more you progress in the game. Endgame Dungeons and Raids are where the real difficulty starts. You just have to grind your way through the MMO to get to this point wich you didn´t do.

    As an ESO veteran CP rank 1200 or so, i quit the game 2 years ago, why? Because the combat is braindead easy, i tried doing the story in chronological order but the quests were so easy and the climax of the zones felt underwhelming simply because the boss got one shotted by my skills. Its laughably bad.. also theres no new additions to the cosmetics / mounts in the game, all the good stuff go straight into the crown shop and the base game cosmetics or housing items just feels dull. Most of the new mansions are crown only and cannot be purchased with gold, and game is extremely inflated.
    Expansions are predictable in content and knowing that no new game changing things coming out will make you ask why bother..
    As a new player though its a very awesome game, i remember when i first started the game and played Morrowind chapter first time i was amazed by the game, thats why i kept playing it simply looking for that feel again, when the game was challenging, every quest game something meaningful and the end of chain quest gave something special like a cosmetic skin or tattoo. But be prepared that most likely you’ll quit the game once you got the game figured out and have a decent endgame build

    For someone who has never played and all the content is new to them... sure... Level up a character or two... get some fun gear like thunderbugs... the really fun proc sets... solo world bosses, try a few dungeons on normal... work up to vet and get some monster sets.
    And that is where it ends... Trials are a hassle and take too much commitment for casual players... you really want some of that trial stuff to pvp.
    I played on and off for years... buy a DLC, and take a break...
    What killed it for me is working to get a cool set piece or artifact that came with a DLC only for it to get nerfed to death once they have your money... I have not touched the last two expansions and never will. If they come up with flying mounts or something crazy I maight take a look.
    On the upside, i paid for the game and there is no subscription fee... so.
    Id rather save my money on Starfield instead of ESO DLCs.

    I would say that FF14 has a much better housing system than ESO, but that ESO's most expensive houses are some of the best designs of player housing but those require a lot of premium currency to actually get them.

    For me to play an MMO the 1-50 content must have good story and challenging, traditional gameplay. Don't care about instanced dungeons and special bosses and all that other junk. Old SWTOR had the perfect balance. Then they made the 1-50 braindead easy to the point where we were falling asleep trying to finish the class stories. Not going to give ESO money until they give us the option to play the 1-50 at a level of difficulty we can enjoy.

    as veteran for 7 years I would say it is not worth it, at least i can speak for veterans. Now the reason WHY is not worth it is because the game has very greed monetization problem, which means all the cool looking mounts skins and other cosmetics stuff are LOCKED into the CROWN STORE.
    The worst thing is you can't buy them (and don't mention now ENVENDORS and shit because u are stupid if you think like that )
    But you have to literaly GAMBLE the crates and maybe you will get something that you like. ( Did it many times )
    The game itself has great combat, but for me personally and I think for the community lacks the REWARDING SYSTEM , that is very poor. It's like you compleate some hard mode , or hard content or you kill many players you literally get nothing in return or you do get small reward which is like ( conteiner for the same set u already have, stupid non combat pet that literaly do nothing but follow you around and thats it)
    For new players i think the game is ok but for veterans i think there is nothing there to do. Even PvP it is nonsensical just running around killing without some good reward, et the end of the campain which is 30days u get 50 transmute crystals woW Lol.

    If you want them to fix the game take a break from it for a few months. How many of you waste 30 to 40 min doing writs on 8 character just to make gold most games based around combat reward you gold for doing the fun stuff putting all the good cosmetics in loot boxes is another way ESO shows they don't respect you as a player they either see you as a good whale or someone not worth their efforts.

  • @ryanvictor7040
    @ryanvictor7040 Рік тому +5

    My biggest issue with ESO is how EASY the world content is. The game is usually praised by its open-world quality in general such as in questing, exploring, and even the graphics and immersion. But I cannot possibly bear how there is little to no challenge in everything we do. Then, what is supposed to be a game becomes something like a visual novel. And to play the "real game" i.e. the hard combat, you have to sacrifice everything you like about the game and add a toxic hardcore community on top of that. So sad.
    Even though I like the exploration and housing systems A LOT, I just can't for gods sake bear its combat. Not for how it is, but simply, again, for how easy it is to do everything.

    I find PVP impossible.. I’ve done everything possible completed all quest on PVE so I think I’m a god. I go into PVP and die constantly instantly not even dealing damage ugh 😑 so read up on what to do what to wear… still doesn’t work. It’s sad very sad maybe I’m just sad but it’s sad I can’t figure it out

  • @derpfaceuwu6206
    @derpfaceuwu6206 Рік тому +1

    If you are a new player who just enjoys questing yes. If you're interested in end game content or pvp, don't even waste your time. End game in eso is atrocious, pvp is a cringe fest. Not to mention the lack of rewards for veteran dungeons/trials and pvp accomplishments. Most of the "cool" mounts, personalities, skins and costumes are locked behind crown crates which are a waste of money and often give you useless items, or the crown store. About 80% of the in game rewards have had a better more enhanced version circulate the crown store or crown crates at some time. Cyrodil is basically a horse simulator where you spend what seems like 5-10 minutes riding your mount just to run into a ball group. Then you lag out and the game crashes, your spells won't register. Cyrodil even if working properly is the most boring pvp experience I've ever had in an MMO. Bgs is Okay, and Imperial city is okay but most of the time it seems vacant and you end up doing pve anyways. Maybe if you like housing and fashion you'll like eso end game. That's pretty much all it is, that and one shotting everything while questing and soloing world bosses without a challenge.

    Like I’ve not seen anything like it, is there anything that does it better currently?
