- this is a 16 lb custom flywheel for the turbo diesel power plant that is going in the second version of the cordless Tesla.
I had it pretty well balanced but I got a little carried away and I wanted to see how far I could take it because most of the time when balancing a heavy flywheel like this the tolerances are a little loose compared to turbine compressors and turbo Wheels etc.
I figured balancing things like this is so important and it's not so common so I figured I would show everybody. - Авто та транспорт
There is something extremely satisfying about rotating mass that’s very balanced
True that, I love super high rpm anythings
Anyone who has ever indicated a part in a 4 jaw lathe chuck can appreciate just how balanced you got that. I totally get the obsession lol. And it is worth it.
Real good job.
What kind of balancing machine is this?
Thanks for sharing.
Take care, EM.
What kind of balancing machine is that?
Now if I could balance my motorcycle tires that well hahaha
Lol.. I'm not sure what the quality of a wheel balancing machine is, that might be a good video.
@@WarpedLabThe quality of car or motorcycle tire balancing machines compared to yours is an awesome idea for a video! At least I think it would be interesting and possibly make some machines seem awful 😮😅. I completely get the obsession with balancing, I get a little out of hand porting anything possible lol! (Different but easy to get obsessed😂) Please make the video haha! Ty for all the cool vids already btw! Stay safe it's gettin hot out there!
How much would you charge me to balance my clutch and flywheel? I installed them and they’re causing vibration.
Smooth as greased butter wow.
Now when he washes off the sharpie marks it will bounce all over the lab.
How do you account for the weight of the welds?
Autogenous welding so no weight loss, however when getting very precise even autogeneous welding relocates the mass ever so slightly. So what I've done with success is weld on the majority of the correction mass, then for the final feather weights I use industrial epoxy.
@@WarpedLab Back in my day, we used actual feathers for feather weights, and we came together in the same church every Sunday for prayer and never relocated mass ever. You yungings with your plastics and auto generocity don't know how good you gotsem. The only poly Esters we ever had was one Auntie Ester, and she baked apple pie that would make your toes curl, ears flutter, and put HAIR ON YOUR CHEST!
Other than that, I think you did an okay job on that spinning thing.
@@NoobNoobNews so what were feather weights exactly?
Sweet man
smooth as butter!
can you tell me from where you bought the balancer ?
I'm trying to get some links, it's a small company but very very high quality products, it's called Erbessed
@@WarpedLab I just googled, it i found it , Thanks
Can't wait to see the finished product!
Level your axle
Notification Squad!🔥🔥🔥
Were did you get that balancer?
How much gravity is that creating?
That's a great question
If you don't want to be sucked into the seats I guess you can run the motor in the opposite direction to cancel each other out.
Frankenstein was the name of the doctor. You're Frankenstein in this instance
Lol... The Frankenstein Flywheel
Very nice! and also very b a l a n c e d
That thing is smoother than the baby's bottom
It was so satisfying and once I mounted on the engine everything is so so smooth
Tedious no doubt, but near perfect!
It ran like a dream!
I loved overhauling Gas Turbine engines. Everything needs to be balanced snd concentric
Yes very satisfying
