I'd like to know how much regen power you can get (to charge the car's batteries) with the turbines running. I've heard that towing a Tesla (with regen active) allows them to recharge a dead battery without plugging in, and wonder if you can do this with the turbines.
Yes I did a video on tow charging it was extremely successful, way more successful than I thought it was going to be. It's on my warped perception Channel. Tow charging a Tesla at 70 mph for 25 miles.
@@WarpedLab awesome, what I'm wondering how much regen can you get using turbines instead of a tow vehicle? Can they make enough thrust to 'turbine tow charge' at all?
Can you try to do a full battery run for us to see with and without jet performance? That'd be freaking amazing! BTW, thanks for making our inner 9-year-olds happy.
Yes... Next video I will , just have to find a track that's open!. I'm glad that you know it makes a huge difference with a fully charged battery, that's why whenever guys run these cars at the track they always have a generator with them and they keep it topped off at 100%... As soon as you drop 90% or below the acceleration is greatly reduced.
It seems by the exaust color of the port engine on the far left ( viewed from the rear ) isn't reaching the same temperature as the center and starboard engines. Titanium heat anodizes to different colors at specific temperatures. The dark bronze shroud color is the lowest temp ,which is the first color to appear when heat anodizing. A thermocouple or instant read heat gun should be able to verify the running temp of those engines. Why the one directly behind the driver is running cooler is bugging my brain! Love the hybrid Tesla!
Yes you are correct, I do have full telemetry on every single engine on that front panel as well as EGT readings. I think the color is different because that's the oldest engine and it has formed some titanium dioxide on the nozzle over time, however it could be because of the temperature as well although they all run pretty much in the same temperature envelope... I am just like you things like that bother me lbvs !
Would be interesting to see how the Tesla accelerates just with the turbines (in N mode). By the way one bigger turbine would produce a lot more force.
Exactly what I was thinking. I live in northern California where some of the best Karens come to train and hone their craft. There is no way this could be pulled off here, without the police and the store manager being called to the scene!
I love the concept..but the execution is all wrong...all wrong..may I suggest a roof rack on The Tesla and a 747 engine strapped to it...now that will be interesting
@@WarpedLab Hey! My brain just came across a wild plan!,Maybe you can feed the engine with different types of fuel(I'm mean not the normal one. acetylene, nitromethane,or other flammable and explosive things),this must be very wild!
Your setup is going to damage the bearings and fan blades in your jet engines if you start driving with those jets spooled up. You got too much vibration going on when you're driving. Aircraft don't suffer these types of vibrations. If the bearings get damaged the compressor will start to stall and flame out from the drag of destroyed bearings.
True... But my main focus is to finish the episode, if the bearings get messed up I'll just take them apart and replace the bearings they're not expensive but you are absolutely correct. As for the stalling, it's the junky fuel pumps for those engines, the fuel pump for the middle one went out during this video, I replaced it and the second fuel pump is acting weird, only on that smaller engine, I don't like those brushless fuel pumps they're very problematic especially at startup when it ramps from ,75 volts, brushless motors don't like low voltage.
@@WarpedLab If you don't want to impale the driver next to you please consider building a protecting shroud for your jets made of strong woven carbon fibre and kevlar. Better yet, don't drive in traffic with jet engines that can spew out fan blades faster then the speed of sound into a car next to it.
lol love it.... too funny. maybe create some smoke around it to see the pattern. perhaps a fog machine or bit of burning paper... great entertainment well done
I forgot to mention how your warped video that I liked the QR code so that people could connect your project with your channel. It was interesting that you could see the left jet was not running because the nozzle was not turning rainbow colors from all the heat. So Elon musk said that he wanted to put Jets on the back of his Teslas. It looks like you beat him to it. Maybe he should pay you a visit 🙂
Ooh that's a good one, I am going to be showing that in an upcoming video real soon why I do something pretty cool on camera with a couple of jet engines.
Looks can sometimes be deceiving, sometimes but not usually, in this case I tested the amount up to 500 lb of thrust, yes it flexes but that's quarter inch thick tubing, as for the brackets I made it modular, I'm going to be able to disassemble this whole setup put it away nice and neat and pull it out whenever I want it, and the bolts on the back bracket not only allow me to swap out but also add my additional supports in the future as soon as I get the materials... Big Time raw materials and supply chain shortages right now...
I know my plans were much different than what I actually built, that's okay I'm sourcing all the materials now so I'll be ready for the next one shortly.
@@WarpedLab of course, I watched full of it, I'm in grade 11 and currently doing software engineering and I've also done some microcontroller stuff like esp32 but I really want to do these things as well, full on hardware stuff + software. You NEED to make a public reaction video with this
That would be amazing

This is a great question. Yes, lots of interest from people towing their Teslas with big RV's looking to recharge.
@@aussie2uGA Probably extremely inefficient
WP actually did that video - towing a Tesla to charge it. Search his channel

Would it move off jet power alone? As in a 0-60 run using just jet power? 😁
Would be cool to see if while doing donuts in the tesla if the jet engines were placed at an angle if they would help the car spin faster🤔🤔🤔
Absolutely if you vectored them at 60-80 degrees the car would become a spinning top I'm sure...lbvs

No shit
would be interesting to see a jet only run to max speed starting from zero
I love you do this in random parking lots
Put some wings on that thing make it fly
“What’s going on over here is there airport or something? Nerds parking lot turned into airport” lmao 🤣
У нас такое в гаражах делают
Fun to watch you do things i would/could never do myself. 👍
Lol..thank you
Your doing this in a car park??
how the hell did the cops not get called on you lmao

All the amazing things you can create and still have to run around town for a Christmas Tree Stand.. 😁
The most impressive thing is how those jets work without a visible fuel source. They appear to run on 100% air!
Those are some powerful leaf blowers you got strapped on the back there!

You do good work
Most TV should be thus fun!
I hope you work with some high school and/or college kids to teach them a few things.
Very kewl!
Walk behind it at full blast!! But don't get hurt of course, we need more videos.
Awesome!
How much for you to take my 7yo son to school in the jet powered Tesla here in Central Florida? 😎🌴🤔
Hey, can u check out the king tech turbine k450g4+. That one has a lot more thrust😄
What do those produce thrust wise? Like a few hundred pounds of thrust maybe?
Can you hook a couple of these up to my Honda cbr600rr 😂
Finally, more interesting videos.I just wonder how much all these set cost?
Im trying to get them all out ! thanks for the support

People in the taco bell just shit themselves, for another reason this time.
So sick dude. Awesome
we need to see the jet power and car in Neutral but on an empty highway
See if you can burn a tailgaters bumper off
I think a 747 engine on the roof would work better
Roast marshmallows with a jet
Would love to see you build one from a old turbo
Add another fourth engine 😮👀
this video is underated
Master of sound pollution
do that in a snowy cold placeee
Top speed run?
This is so freaking cool
Какой-то странный секс
Spends 3 months the most intricate details I've ever seen. Then goes to Maynard's in the rain
I did release the full episode on Warped Perception, did you see it ?
Yeah I just found your channel and I've watched alot of your videos. You have to some runs from a stop with just the jets
You should also start modifying motorcycles.
Smart man right here. Be my neighbor!!!!
Ha! Thanks
I think you're just missing the flux capacitor.
I like mister like❤️
that was airport 😂
Hopefully you can get some public reactions! I know I would get so hype if I saw something like that 😂
I love that you did this at Menards. 😆 My favorite store here in Minnesota.
I need more
