- The Voidz do an amazing job when it comes to constantly changing up their style! And it works for them! In this one I'm reviewing the song Did My Best by The Voidz.
As always if you like the music please support the artist by listening to their music via their official channels and pages. Here's the official audio for this one: • The Voidz - Did My Bes...

his lyrics are really hard to know exactly what he means, the best thing is he keeps it vague enough so you can relate it to your life with what you see fit
This song melts me into the couch... I love the effortless lazy floating
It's been awhile since this came out, but I thought since nobody said it in the comments I'd mention that this song is largely about Julian's drinking problem during his young years with The Strokes. When he talks about "those days everyone's talking about" he's referring to when The Strokes were blowing up, but he says "they were the best *I guess*" because he literally can't remember alot of his youth because he was just getting drunk all the time. I won't go through every line, but once you know he used to have a drinking problem everything makes sense
Awesome insight, thank you!
when he talks abou the thing that he loves but doesn’t trust no more, i believe he is talking about music as an idea, cuz it’s still the thing that drives him, that doesn’t let him calm down, but at the same time, he feels like he can’t trust it anymore, like it’s tricky
for me this was julian's best song
This song is EPIC
Stumbled across this song recently. I can’t get it out of my head, absolutely love it.
I agree with your comment on Virtue, one of my faves. Also really enjoy The New Abnormal. Great album.
i love that you listen to everything first without pausing in between :)
Hi, this is one of my favourite bands ever and I love this song. Nice video, can you please react to Valentine by Jonathan Bree? With the video along if that's possible
it was a good song :)
Certainly! I've added it to my list.
Bree is great!
Did my best = 1980's narrative over elevator music.
I kinda got Beatles vibes actually from this
Great video!!!
Glad you liked it!
julian is very complicated and a very insightful person who has a lot to say but does not say much actually
I do listened to all his lyrics and I tried to analyze all of them. Lol. Thank you.
hey! love the way you share your own enterpetations on the meaning and lyrics of songs ;) Can you react to more The Strokes/The Voidz songs? Sry about miss spelling btw, love frow Norway!
Definitely! Thank you for your support and for your suggestion!
I think the line about everything happening for a reason and then him contradicting himself saying it’s not true is him basically drawing attention to the fact that everyone says it, including him, but no one believes it. It’s just a thing we all say to make ourselves feel better about the things we can’t control and things we’ve done in life that we’re not proud of and/or want to take back.
Yeah i think you’re pretty much right. I think this song is mainly just talking about how people like to talk about how great the days of old were, but they really might not have been as good as people think they are. In other words, the past isn’t as good as right now and what you could make of the future.
It’s a nostalgic sounding song about how nostalgia is overrated.
As he says: i guess
The only thing I can say is that beyond the lyrics the message might go like “I don’t wanna go back to what I was with the strokes before so don’t push me into being that guy again” coz I might admit a lot of people have been expecting an old version of Julian with the strokes but obviously, he keeps creating amazing stuff with the voidz , not with the strokes anymore? Is it a message to the fans ??
hes always singing about shit like that lol but hey new album 2020 lol
Interesting analysis. I like your take on the lyrics.
Marcos Reviews Stuff thanks check my Chanel I cover a few songs

8:51 It's about politics my friend
you don't know that...
INHALER - Ice Cream Sundae... react to that song and then before finishing the video, react to the artist who wrote it.
I like tyranny better but virtue was also an awesome album
I haven't listened to much off of Tyranny. Might be something to check out on the channel!
@@EwokToRemember I prefer Virtue but the song "Human Sadness" off of the first album is their best track.
