I think wolf tones can be wonderful if you can control it! If not there wolf tone tamers out there thar really make the cello sound better. There these brass button ones and a more effective one is the Krents wolf tone tamer or eliminator but they are expensive. You just drop the back part of it inside the cello and the front part swoops up the back part via magnet. And it works beautifully!!

Hi! Great question! It's an annoying tone/sound, almost like several tones at the same time. Many cellos have issues with this.

Weird. It sounds better to me with the wolf tone!

Can you give me some advices on which cello brand I should buy for my son, the Samuel Shen (2019) or Samuel Eastman (2017)?

Do a video comparing "luthier made" vs "Jay Haide" (more people). Why is it you can have 2 cello's made of "good quality spruce", both hand-assembled/fitted...if it's made by ONE person they can ask $50,000 but if it's put together by a team $2000...$4600...etc. Sound quality not better on the $60,000 or $30,000 cello...just "different". Luthiers still out-source parts...pegs, tailpiece, bridge and strings. :) If the cello is put together by a team based out of Cremona (Italy) they can charge $19,000 Euro...heh...1 person? $32,000 Euro...from that same shop/luthier's shop.

Obviously it depends on the materials. They may use the same materials but the high end instruments will always use better quality stuff than the cheaper ones.
