Rollins back in the 80s is considered a punk ICON and apart of one of the biggest punk bands in the 80s called Black Flag (really good listen btw) Prior to black flag he was in another lesser known but good punk band called SOA. I reccomend checking black flag out altho they had 3 or 4 different singers. For Rollins his more well known song would be RISE ABOVE Or DRINK along with a few other solid tracks All their music is pretty good. But I love my punk music
Rollins also does amazing spoken word tours. You should check out Henry Rollins talking about Iggy Pop. It's absolutely hilarious. I saw him do spoken word in Canberra, Australia about 4 years ago. I got merch
This was one of the funniest spoken words he had, but it's condensed from the album version, which would be better to listen to, but here it is. Eric the Pilot: ua-cam.com/video/oPZKmInbQLQ/v-deo.html
OMG! This video popped into my mind, with the current news and social climate. I'm so excited to see a pic discover this song. The video was one of my favorites growing up. I love being a 90s kid.
Great Reaction, That's all I can say except for this!! Love the Lyrics "I'll Turn You Into ME"!! That's the way I See Things as after a Woman actually escapes His Grasp, She Turns Into Him and Lies and Deceives the Good Guys, Then Some of Them Turn into Her, Then She Becomes Him Then He Becomes Her, etc, etc, etc!!
Rollins, is Da Man, that band was so badass back in the day, they made some great albums. He's also got excellent stage shows with commentary and poetry, along with good books. If you've not seen any of that, check them out.
Thanks y'all. Always stoked to hear Rollins Band. Rollins is my hero.. This dude is straight up and dont give a f*&^. The album this song is one is so so so killer. One of my faves.
Very relatable lyrics. When you're at a low point in your life you meet someone who says and does everything right only to find out it was all smoke and mirrors. They were just gaining your trust so they could hurt you, and then they come back saying they've changed when the truth is they didn't change they just know how to push your buttons to get what they want from you.
Henry Rollins is a great human. This is kinda the docile version of Henry. Check ANYTHING by Black Flag... or other tracks by Rollins Band. A couple of my favorites are Right Here Too Much, Damaged I, Gimme Gimme Gimme, Alien Blueprint, or his guest appearance on Tool's Undertow with the tune Bottom. Cheers and Peace!!!
i love Henry Rollins he is basically testosterone in human form . I never really considred him a singer more like a guy just yelling at you with a band playing in the background.Still a legend and a pretty intelligent guy.
so many white people listen to "black" music.. but its great to see black people listen to and like "white" music you know there was a time when music was just music and everyone could enjoy it regardless of race sexual orientation religion.. think about it .. saying i cant like WuTang cause i am white is like saying you cant like Queen cause you arent gay.. you rock keep up the good work and expanding those horizons .. the only limits you have are the ones you impose upon yourself...
This reminds me of that song(?) - I forget who by - "Hi, dad. I'm in jail. I like it here. I want to stay here." From that same MTV / Beavis and Butthead era.
I don't see many reactions to Henry Rollins and his bands at all... and that's a shame! There's so much to reach about Henry.... so much to tell about the genius he is. Whenever he speaks is like opening a book and reading it to the last last page, the last word,in no time!
If you never been on a date and they see this song on your play list just act dumb and don’t play it 😅 they run and never call you again. Ya but no shit this song is awesome
Believe it or not but he's been in the business a while and this song came out in the 80s and it was just out there. He's as disturbing now as he was back then. The band's name is Rollins Band
Yeah I see Henry comes from the punk rock tradition there was a time when genre of music was really big in the 80s that were a lot of bands and they were quite the group it was a band called Black Flag and they were legendary I grew up not far from where they used to do their rehearsals they had an abandoned church in Hermosa Beach not far from Pier Avenue and not far from the ocean I mean you can see the ocean from there cuz it was on a steep hill I remember seeing their van and Heather logo and their name of the group written on the side of the white I think it was a Chevy van and I even saw Henry a lot of times walking up and down Artesia Boulevard he was actually in that movie Heat with Al Pacino and Robert De Niro and Brad Pitt I mean it with all these great actors who did a bank robbery Robert De Niro actually beats the crap out of Henry Rollins which would not happen in real life but it was a really awesome scene in the movie yeah he actually did a little show on cable on some movie channel honey interviewed a lot of different actors and different folks he actually interviewed gorvy doll which is an amazing intellectual author Henry played at the 1990s Woodstock Festival that was quite a show in fact he even played at the Grammys and it was the last year when all the guys had to wear tuxedos but it was so funny because he's out there he performed the song that he was given the Grammy for and he's out there with his tuxedo on but he's barefoot it was great he also I don't know if he still does it but he writes an article for La weekly he's a columnist and he had done a column for La weekly you know every week and it was really good I mean the guys brilliant he comes from Washington DC the band came through town and we're hanging out with him and then when they've got to New York they sent him a letter saying they wanted him to audition so he asked his boss and he said man go for it just might be your chance he worked at a Haagen-Dazs ice cream parlor so he had definitely moved up in the world there's a really hilarious song you could probably find it on UA-cam that you could do a reaction to it's called TV party and it comes from the early 80s there's a video that goes along with it all right my dear that was a great reaction Cherokee on the next drop sorry Google did that I will check you on the next drop
Man. I remember going to rite aid at 12 in late 1992. I got this album, nirvana’s incesticide and TOOL’s undertow. Life changing. *edit* also got the first rage against the machine record.
My bad. I forgot this wasn’t on Rollins Bands “the end of silence.” It was a long time ago I’m surprised i got as much as I did right.🤷🏻♂️ it COULD have been early in the spring of ‘93 instead of late ‘92, I can’t pinpoint it EXACTLY, but a good few months before In Utero came out. Def those 4 cassettes tho. Def life changing.
Not the biggest Henry Rollins/Rollins Band fan but damn, I did love this song back in the day. He was dropping some truth bombs.
Henry is spoken word metal.
Seen Henry a bunch of times. Always killed it!
"I'll tell you things you already know, so you can say 'I really identify with you.'"
- the best description of modern politics.
I can't see him without seeing Beavis and Butthead watching him saying how cool he was.
Haha.. "Yea! Yea! Yeaa!! Liar Liar Liar.... heh heh hmhm hehe hmm"
Same here!
Hi from New Zealand. Try this....when i die.by no mercy.good luck from stevie the kiwi

Lol yeah when they were like “whoa look at his neck”
I played this for my niece! I said, Niece, meet BOYS...
EXACTLY! If I had a daughter I would let her listen to this!
Can I just say....a sista wearing an off-the-shoulder Metallica shirt might be the coolest thing I have seen in a long time.
I remember when this came out. Nothing like it & I loved it. I fell in love with this guy! I still love Henry Rollins.
Underappreciated talent. Rollins is a really interesting guy to listen to in music and just talking in interviews and other performances.

I played this song to my now wife when she was dealing with leaving her abusive ex. It helped. Plus made her laugh.
Henry For President 2024!
I'll never forget when Rollins Band performed this at the Grammys that year, and he's on stage in a tuxedo and barefoot, screaming.
One of my favourite artists , stright talking lyrical genius
Rollins' spoken word of I Know You is incredible.

This song is poetry.

His books helped me survive my teens. Heavy stuff
I seen Henry Rollins must be close to 15 or 20 years back and he was amazing live, just a complete explosion of fury and energy.

Rollins had me at " CUZ I'M A LIAR!" And it made my mom upset! Back in 95
