  • I haven't made a backpacking gear video since I finished the Appalachian Trail in 2020 so I figured it was time for an update on new gear I've gotten in 2021 and 2022.

Hiking with Braids I think I would try that fork and spoon combo, I like that it comes a part for pack ability. I’m going to order the mini air pump. I spent so much money on the therm a rest air pump and it worked a few times and quit working. I loved watching the Bartram videos awesome I also watch your Appalachian Trail recap you did such a beautiful job narrating.

Hi Braids! Loved this video! You always have great advice and insight! I just got two pairs of Goodr sunnies, and am looking forward to trying them on vaca! I also got the same duo fork/spoon and food bag from Hilltop Packs! They are great, and the photo printing is incredible! Happy hiking 🙌

There is definately a lot of great gear in this video. I am thinking about the Cnoc bottle as well for a while. Think I am now going to give it a go for my long hike next week so that I have a back up bottle for the longest days.
    Thanks for sharing.❤️

I’ve been waiting for a gear video. Awesome. I also purchased the Hilltop food bag but haven’t used it yet. I love it but am hearing canisters are a better option. I just don’t know. I’m looking for a long sleeve shirt so will check that outs. Amazing as always Braids. Now of Zpacks would bring back the camo duplex I would be a very happy camper 🙃. Happy trails 🤘🏻🥾🏕

I have the North face venture 2 rain jacket it does really good in rain I've had it for like 10 years and I put it through some serious hiking at the Red River gorge off trail hiking and it still looks good you do have to wash it sometimes to keep the waterproofness great jacket for real I found it at TJ Maxx believe it or not

Yeah north face is some awesome gear I did do a little upgrade for a marmot Gore-Tex jacket tho which is absolutely fantastic as well a bit heavier but awesome for hardcore rain

I was just mentioning you the other day. I was out on a local hike, and a woman was going the other way. She burst out laughing when she saw my t-shirt (Go Outside- worst case scenario, a bear kills you).
Great review and some nice products here!

Really should look to replace the tent with a hammock, I am loving it and it isn't bulky and expensive as many act like it is. BEST. SLEEP. EVER.

I really like having a little "house" for camp. I know I wouldn't feel comfortable sleeping in a hammock all night but they are awesome!

I agree with Josh...Hammock is only way to go...Just not an ENO...lol...I put my rain fly in tent mode and barely know I'm not in a tent...Always enjoy you videos ..

One problem with relying 100% on a hammock is that you are limited as to where you can camp. What if you run out of daylight and are above treeline? You are going to end up having to sleep on the bare ground. I have seen that happen to some UA-cam hikers. And forget about any desert hiking. You can't stretch a hammock between cactuses or shrubs.

"cnoc", pronounced kuh-nok, is the word for "hill" in Irish and Scottish Gaelic. All of those brands with the weird capitalized names are made in PRChina. The quality of many of these items are hit or miss, and many will have tons of fake reviews. I view Amazon with the Cultivate browser add-on to view country of origin and seller, and the Fakespot add-on to see the quality of reviews.

That purple zip bag is in litres surely. You said it was the 12 ounce version but it showed on the label '12L'.

The weight varies on the hike and what I carry. It’s usually between 21 - 26 lbs with food and water

I never knew trekking poles could be men or women. How are yours different than your average trekking poles to make them women specific?
