    As always you look great. Purple works for you. It’s an awesome process to watch you hone down your gear selections. When I picked up your pack I couldn’t believe your 5’5’ frame carried it all that way. What does Jerry say? “She’s one tough cookie”.

    Something I picked up from you I’d the bandana tied the the pack strap! It comes in especially handy when winter hiking and my nose starts running. No more taking off my mitten to fish a tissue out of my pocket. Of course snot does freeze so I have to look for a dry part each time I need to wipe my nose. I love my Hiker Hunger hiking poles. So far they are holding up well, pretty light and priced well. Need to remember to add my duct tape to them! Thanks for another great video!

    Hi Braids🖐 I went to home depot and bought a short role of that 1/4" tubing. That is the best hack ever.👍i also carry a back up. Yesterday I happened to be holding my lifewater and my buddy and his wife said it looked like I was drinking from a hamster bottle😂 they busted me the rest of the day, I think they're jealous. All in good fun. Anyway great idea. Good video update hope all is well.🌲👍

    I LOVED watching your hike last year! You made it so real, and reminded me of so many places and feelings I wish I could experience again. I wish you were doing it again this year but I understand the reasons why. Are you watching other hikers vlogging their hike this year?

    A windproof headband. Cold ears really give me pain so I always make sure I have my headband. It doesn't make my head too hot, which a hat would. I carry a beanie too, but it has to be very cold for me to need it.

    My Favorite things that have I would have to say first off my bicycle because I have to ride my bicycle all the way to the trail and then my other favorite is my bicycle lock and then my all-time favorite is my phone that way I can do videos and take pictures and I just bought myself a new hiking bag I am actually looking forward to trying it out this summer.

    What do you mean “free standing tent” vs the tent you have? Additional poles to go with the tent?

    • @CaitlynGoesHiking
      @CaitlynGoesHiking 3 роки тому

      The tent she uses (the duplex) requires 2 trekking poles and at least 6 tent stakes to make the structure. Sometimes it’s difficult to put in those stakes on rocky or Sandy terrain. I have the same tent and recently forgot my tent stakes at home on a trip. I had to weigh down the guy lines with multiple rocks to use as the stakes.
      A free standing tent has its own poles and makes its structure without stakes needed

    • @pamvaughn1200
      @pamvaughn1200 3 роки тому +1

      @@CaitlynGoesHiking thank you, that was my thinking but I use stakes on my free standing tent also. The difference is at least I have structure if the wind is blowing hard! 👍

    • @CaitlynGoesHiking
      @CaitlynGoesHiking 3 роки тому

      @@pamvaughn1200 There’s also the in between called the “semi-freestanding” sounds like what yours is. Probably better for those high winds. Pros and cons to every type of tent

    • @pamvaughn1200
      @pamvaughn1200 3 роки тому

      @@CaitlynGoesHiking good to know. I was thinking about getting a tent like Gretchen’s, I will do more research before making my purchase.
      I love your videos Braids’s!!
