Great video. I have a question. can you only install the heated seat w/o the grips. I know the module controls both. I have a 790 and I am not sure if it has the front wiring componenet that you showed in the heated grips video (I cant seem to locate it). I assume that is what gives the control unit power(?) Thanks for any advice. Your videos are very thorough and helpful.

Great video, way easier then I assumed, definitely going to just order them and do it myself. How did the seat end up being as far as comfort goes ? Nevermind just started the next video

Yes, order it and do it yourself, it went much better than I thought it would. As far as comfort goes, I took 890 on about a 5 hour ride this past weekend and it felt firm, but was never uncomfortable. It is good enough that I won't need to swap it off for summer so that is a good 👌 sign. Good luck with the install!

Great Video John. Where did you get the Heated Seats from? I have a 890 R myself and am waiting for my Heated Grips to arrive.
    Keep the videos coming. Thanks

Thanks David! I purchased my heated seat from my dealer and it seemed to come in super fast, in about a week, but as you know, the heated grips we waited on for a while. I hope that your grips come in soon! I think all of us 890 owners appreciate factory heated grips more than ever now!

Hi John. Great video and thanks for sharing. I've just bought an 890 Adventure and have installed the heated grips and the HCU.
For the seat install.... I was wondering if you might be able to take a photograph of the wire colours which are fitted to the connector that plugs into the HS port of the HCU? The factory wiring diagram only details the pins and wires for the heated grip elements and not the seats.
I'm trying to workout which pins of the HS port of the HSU do which functions.
    I know the colours are
    Rider seat element power (red/blue)
    Pass seat element power (red/yellow)
    Group return (brown)
    Switch wire (black/brown) off
    Switch wire (blue/purple) Heat 1
    Swith wire (pink) Heat 2.
But I'd like to confirm which pins of the HS port of the HSU these connect to?
Hope you can help? Thanks and best regards, James.

Hi, thanks for the kind words and for watching. I am away from the bike at the moment but will do my best to get some pics for you to help out with wiring. I know that getting everything to work together sometimes is difficult and many times you just need a little extra info to successfully finish the task. I will put this on my "to do" list. :)

PILL-EE-ON!! Now say it smooth and fast Pillion! Its latin origin: noun
a seat for a passenger behind a motorcyclist.
    HISTORICAL
    a woman's light saddle.
    HISTORICAL
a cushion attached to the back of a saddle for an additional passenger.
