I'm putting my new/old 03' Honda XR650R that is plated into shape and converting to an ADV/ Dual sport bike. I bought it with 50 miles on it and put it in storage, California garage so dry. I do not know how it happened but taking off the new condition Dunlop knobby tire ( 19 year old rubber is bad) and installing Motz tractionator ralley tires both my adjustment bolts were seized in the swing arm. I got the left side free'ed up but the right one sheared off. What a pain in the ass. I'm a machinist and have a Bridgeport Mill that I swung the head out so I could drill out the bolt. The drill did not go center by .030". I ended up having to find center and use a carbide boring bar, over-sizing the hole for a Heli-Coil . Hitting what was left of the steel bolt and then cutting the aluminum swingarm had to make me double the holding power of the fixture. End up being a good job but took maybe 5 hours in total to fix. Even had to make a special tool for the swingarm bolt assembly. Yeah, put anti seize grease on those buggers!
Great tutorial , One hack I learned from another UA-camr is to use a ratchet strap over the top of the bike through the wheel to lift the wheel into place allowing you to fiddle with all the components while the weight is being taken up by the ratchet strap.
Thanks for the video, Next time I Will remove the ABS sensor, i dindt think about removing It to avoid damage, nice tip. 👍🏼 What makes me the Life easier Is to remove the two bolts of the chain guide. Normally i do It like that to remove and install the wheel.

Still need to look at other additions like luggage and a bash plate. I guess it will be an ongoing project for some time to come.

On my 350 I always try to use the tools I carry on my bike to test what I have in the event of a field repair. This doesn’t include proper torque checks once complete of course.

Hi, i prefer to not unscrew the 32mm Axle when the Bike is on a Constands Middlestand. I would drop the bike on the wheel to unscrew until the axle is loose. Rest i think u do well!
Only vid on rear wheel installation with enough details for me to figure out how to mount back those damn spacers. You're channel is public service ;) On another note, I have an extra part on the sprocket side, a plate like a washer that goes between the spacer and the bering, it protects the bering from being exposed. My bike is a 2023, but Im surprised you dont have the same.
I’ve found the TKC 80 very good in heavy rain and it’s always felt trustworthy. I’ve ridden it at about 130km/h for hours and it feels fine. It says the max speed rating in 99mph- think that might be about 155kph? I wouldn’t want to ride any quicker than 85mph just for comfort. Most normal road riding is up to about 100kph and this always feels solid. Love the tyre.

Nice Video.- FYI you're not supposed to use a torque wrench to remove nuts or bolts. Screws up the calibration. Can make it unreliable in the future.

Nice work. Not had to remove the rear yet on my 890. I remember the 950 Adventure being quite quick and easy though.
You shouldn't use your torque wrench to loose bolts, that'll cause inaccuracies in tightening bolts. Good reminder on the ABS sensor!

Best bike ever. I fitted a Puig taller screen. It’s a bit wider and taller, deflects wind past shoulders better. I hate buffering being an old bloke.

Really interesting point. Would you do that because of the slight wobble on the stand?
I do That cause the Bolt That fits in the frame are Not so strong and can bend or Break.
Never seen you set the chain tension you moved the adjuster on the right .
I took photos of before with the chain markers. Knew the tension was good before.

You can see at 10:45, there is still some orange showing from the bering. I have something that cover this, like a washer

My first tyre is Metzler Karoo 3, (60km no more, heavy rain in germany).
I’ve found the TKC 80 very good in heavy rain and it’s always felt trustworthy. I’ve ridden it at about 130km/h for hours and it feels fine. It says the max speed rating in 99mph- think that might be about 155kph? I wouldn’t want to ride any quicker than 85mph just for comfort.
