      @@ReefDudes i didnt want to advertise but I have a fully automated Ro system and I put 125.000 litres of water through it every year because Im a window cleaner. It has High and low pressure sensors, booster pump, autoflush selenoid and auto shut off but there is one very very important secret to a fully automated system to fully auto shut off: the optical sensor flood guardian! With a mechanical float system will never fully switch off and your autoflush will just pump water down the drain. Also have booster pump and all selenoids inside a box thats activelly cooled as all selenoids must be default off selenoids and they get very hot otherwise and might fail prematurely.
      If you ever want more info let me know. Keep up the awesome channel!

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  4 роки тому

      @@ricardocarneiro7797 I actually picked up a flood guardian a while back to use as a backup to the float valve! (maybe ill use that instead and the float as of backup). How long does it take for the solenoids to heat up? that sounded like an issue on many that reviews of various ones that i have read.

    • @ricardocarneiro7797
      @ricardocarneiro7797 4 роки тому

      @@ReefDudes flood guardian is the single new best upgrade for an RO system, rock solid design. I agree in using float as backup instead.
      Use the flood guardian as the main shut off but just under the action of the mechanical float valve for added safety.
      The flood guardian triggers instantly which in turn triggers high pressure switch permanently in one go, avoiding cyclical and prolonged on/off cycles which will wear your booster pump and will forever make your autoflush flush into the drain every single time system comes back on.
      Selenoids get hot quickly id say 10-15 minutes they will get red hot in a enclosed space. With a pair or usb computer fans and a box every selenoid will just get warm, but keeps booster pump cool.
      My preferred timing is 1 hour on and 15 mins off purely to preserve the gear, my 450gpd system will filter 1000 litres in 24 hours so no need to push it.
      Also every hour autoflush kicks in for 18 seconds. Membranes will last 5-15 years this way.
      Best pressure is 80psi but you can go 60-80 psi if you want to reduce the chance of push fit connections leaking.
      If you have a public email or whatsapp I can send you pics of my system which will be easier to get ideas from.

Your previous one was attached to the stand for more support while this one is simply attached to the stud in the wall. I noticed on one of your other videos that someone just had a piece of 8020 coming straight out of the wall and no piece going down to the floor (unless it was hidden behind his wall). Does it have to be attached to the stand for more stability?
