✨Glad that you did this vlog Jordan! Regardless of whether people liked his brand of comedy or not he was part of a much bigger issue. It’s so important that people have a voice regardless of whether we like it or not. Same thing happened with Billy Holiday for her song Strange Fruit. George Carlin is my favorite comedian and the things he “joked” about are so relevant today. Censorship is a dangerous thing imho. Blessings to you, Katie and Jah. ~Love&Light♥️C.
Thank you so much for covering Lenny Bruce. Such an important figure in comedy & freedom of speech. ❤️😎 They say everything is cyclical. Nowadays, cancel culture is rearing its ugly head.
Thanks again for another great Vlog! The way that you tell the story, with kindness, grace, dignity, and a compassionate heart is a great testimony as to who you are, as a person. Thank you, I learned about his life, and past, shalom!!
Great video, Jordan! Thank you !!!!! I do not think Lenny Bruce's efforts to make words non-offensive could have predicted how far it has gone today. People using obscenities as if they were candy falling out out of theor mouths... "Hand me my F'ing cup :( without anger or emotion). He's a grown @$$ man"... ehat, only his posterior has reached maurity?! Couldn't they could simply say, "He is a grown man"?
Other than watching the bio-pic with Dustin Hoffman years later i never knew who lenny Bruce was but after watching the movie i did a little research & pretty much covered a lot of what you said in this story, excellent jordan thank you, take care.
Thanks Jordan, as always you're the best! You and Jah travel safe! Love your videos I can always count on you to teach me something and give me a good chuckle.
Great video. Here is something that people probably are not aware of. It sounds good that his death was more or less rushed over because of his reputation and all, but within a few days of his death Charles Whitman went on his rampage, and Richard Speck had been captured for the murder of eight nurses. Yes, this was a truly a turbulent couple of weeks.
Loved this vlog!! As someone said about Mrs Mazel *unfortunately first time I got to get a glimpse of him*, hard knock life, but so very interesting! His Hollywood Hills home, gorgeous! He was a genius that wasn't recognized, it's so tragic! So misunderstood! Most (all) of these comedic genius, the thread that runs through their lives-mainstream society never recognizes what they are standing for/saying they are themselves, so pitiful that back then in society he had no voice! Thank you for bringing his voice alive for us. I want to read more now and read his autobiography. Love his story-so underappreciated! What a shame! WOW for all what he stood for shameful how near the end he was living! I wonder what happened to Honey?!
Thank You For sharing this one with Us. I never heard many or any Lenny Bruce. I was born in 65 in my defense. LOL!!! I also had a conservative Mom. My Dad would probably been more forgiving if Him and maybe would have share with Us. This was cool. Thanks again, Jordan.
Interesting how his body was found, he was lying naked in the bathroom with a syringe still stuck in his arm. It screamed “I died of a heroin overdose!”
It's come out since that LAPD sort of reconstructed the scene for a photo op. Then people at the scene squabbled over ownership of the photos (luckily his friend Phil Spector bought them to try and protect him)
a legend that was ahead of his time in the wrong decade!! If he had made it to the 70's and 80's he would've been the GOAT!! by the way I saw the movie when it first came out and subsequently as I've aged and it still is great.
He was in the correct decade because someone had to be first. The 70s and 80s would have been the 60s because there was no Lenny Bruce to kick the door down. For change to come, someone has to be first. People are born when they should be
This was a great video, Jordan. Being from Indiana which is mostly flat, I’m always amazed how house are perched on such steep hills in CA. Was Lenny Bruce’s house on top of rock? It’s what it looked like. You showed the driveway and I automatically thought it would be a bear to drive it when it’s icy outside 😂. TGIF 😂 on a serious note, the US government bullying a man for using his first amendment rights is disgraceful but not much has changed. If social media had been a thing back then, he could’ve exposed his comedy to the masses until the government shut him down again. 😢
What would Lenny have thought about Andrew Dice Clay? It seems like the pendulum of moral righteousness swung the other way and now it seems to be swinging back.
Lenny was the trailblazer. How odd it seems that all his tenacious work is now just in history and comedy free speech is edited. What a kick in the a** to his legacy. RIP Lenny.
I wouldnt say its he saw howpeople really behaved...but how SOME people behave...but yeah im not for censoring as far as people being able to tell or express and idea or to defend themselves certainly not...anyways good segment
Because of his lavatory sense of humor, Lenny was booted out of Australia in 1962. Australia was a very conservative country during 1950s and 1960s. Books like Lady Chatterly's Lover were banned
Love your content, you always do great work on good subjects....that said, nothing should be off limits for comedy? If someone made a comedy routine out of absolutely trashing someone special to you (grandfather? wife?), you'd laugh and enjoy it at the expense of their feelings? Wouldn't rub you wrong at all? Freedom of speech comes with responsibility and accountability. I love comedy, I love F.O.S., but even I know that you can't just say anything you want and expect no repercussions.
I didnt say id laugh. I dont think, nor have i ever thought Louis ck was funny.. do i think he should allowed to say anything he wants in the name of trying to be funny, even though i dont find him funny. Absolutely..
@@DazewithJordantheLion Fair enough. I respect your standing by your opinion. To be clear, I wasn't trying to go on the attack, merely offering up a counter-viewpoint. I agree that people should be able to say or joke about anything they like, but understand there are going to be reactions and consequences one way or another. Keep doing the good work, excellent research and I love your stuff!
the inside scoop is that a friend of his gave him a lethal dose of H just to put him out of his misery--the words that he got arrested for, you can barely have a comic career now without using those words and even worse now---did ya dig spellman on starz of jazz?
It was because of him. ( in my opinion ) that we had comedians. Like George Carlin , Richard Pryor , Red Fox , etc etc etc . THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA......PS good job on this one......
Thats the interesting thing.. i feel like in many ways we are back to over sensoring everything.. and if you try to fight for "comedy" you either get cancelled, called a racist, biggot, homophobic.. comedy seems to not allow anything on any of those topics at all anymore, no matter the context
listen to 'the sick humor of lenny bruce' not x rated, first heard it when i was 10 and can practically recite the entire record--his is the left face on mt rushmore of comics, the next three are yet to be carved.....

“In the halls of justice, all of the justice is in the halls.” - Lenny Bruce
My all- time favorite quote of his!
Amazing video! Lenny walked so George and Richard could run.
I enjoyed Luke Kirby’s portrayal of Lenny on The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. His performance of All Alone was spot on.
Ohhh Kirby knocked it out of the park!
Yes!
Yes! I didn't know alot about his, but found him facinating!!
Rest in peace Lenny. He paved the way for all the comics we have now. Thanks, Jordan for telling his story. Take care.
Thanks, Jordan. A man born way before his time!
RIP Lenny. He was a pioneer in comedy. Wouldn't be able to enjoy some of the great comedians in the last 50 years if it wasn't for Lenny.
Jordan thank you so much for this exceptionally interesting and informative biography on Lenny Bruce. It was terrific.

When you talk about Lenny It reminds me of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. Remember Susie saying : Your Lenny fu#&ing Bruce!!
Thank you for the videos
Thanks Jordan, as always you're the best! You and Jah travel safe! Love your videos I can always count on you to teach me something and give me a good chuckle.
I bet Lenny and George Carlin are saying we told you so, Roasting the current world from the clouds celestial comedy club.
Thank You… Thank You for going into depth with these people’s Stories….. Always educational

You are the first person to cover this house, I think! It is about time. I wonder who lives there now.

I love seeing you in fantasy land!🌟📽️🎬🎭
“You’re the next Lenny Bruce” …I remember the mention in the Nutty Professor movie😊
Glad to see you back in L.A. 👍⬆
Hollywood Fame Walk ⭐️💖💖💖💖💖my favorite one fan BIG
Interesting how his body was found, he was lying naked in the bathroom with a syringe still stuck in his arm. It screamed “I died of a heroin overdose!”
Well, when you die from an overdose you don’t really have the ability to remove the needle 😂 I knew what you meant though
It's come out since that LAPD sort of reconstructed the scene for a photo op. Then people at the scene squabbled over ownership of the photos (luckily his friend Phil Spector bought them to try and protect him)
I came across a video of his and he was HILARIOUS! I have to check out more of his comedy.
Very interesting. Thank you.

Jordan wishing you a great day 🏵️ love your videos in Michigan ❤
hey jordan........from here in tacoma washington.....
He grew up in my hometown and went to the same high school I did. Well know around these parts.
Lenny was the trailblazer. How odd it seems that all his tenacious work is now just in history and comedy free speech is edited. What a kick in the a** to his legacy. RIP Lenny.
He was ahead of his time.
Thanks Jordan
RIP Lenny Bruce 😢❤ One of a kind
Lenny led the way for the great George Carlin …. Great Vlog Thanks Jordan
How bizarre that his marker was wet when the ground looks dry. I wonder if someone had visited and poured a drink on it or something?
Looks like some type of oil was poured on it to me.
Thanks for another story I never who this man was till you did this video sad ending
A comic ahead of his time RIP
I always thought he died broke, but that looks like a pretty nice house that couldn't have been too cheap even in the mid-60's.
Good video about Lenny Bruce and his life. Nice resting place for him good vlog jordan
Lenny Bruce pushed the comedic envelope!
A pioneer and a brilliant comedic mind, Lenny died for free speech in a country where speech is supposedly free.
Somehow things have come full circle 60 years later we are going through same things.
Totally agree
The precursor to the shock jock phenomenon.
Never thought he was funny, But good video.
Just watched Adam a few minutes ago....he was talking of your friendship~ He was watching a start get their star ...
Good video 😀
A very sad story that is all too common in the entertainment industry.
Back in 1966 the new drug of choice was LSD it stole a lot of young people’s life’s so sad
Million times better than fent
Freedom of speech is my favorite thing in the universe, especially when it's funny. Great video.
41 so young 😢
Tragically sad.
He's so famous, yet i never heard his routine
Speaking of Ritchie Valens, have you ever done an LA Ritchie Valens tour vid?
Yeah
I wouldnt say its he saw howpeople really behaved...but how SOME people behave...but yeah im not for censoring as far as people being able to tell or express and idea or to defend themselves certainly not...anyways good segment
What the hell is that thing by his grave marker?
all the drugs didnt help for sure!!!
Did I miss it or did you move back to LA?
Because of his lavatory sense of humor, Lenny was booted out of Australia in 1962. Australia was a very conservative country during 1950s and 1960s. Books like Lady Chatterly's Lover were banned
I am curious as to what happened to his child?
Cool. Lenny Bruce paid the ultimate price for attempting to increase freedom for everyone. RIP. 🌈☘🏳⚧🏳🌈
👍👍👌!!

@DazewithJordantheLion right. Right wing religion has infiltrated everything
14:34. That looks like a finger right side of the video. Anyone else see it?
