    Edit: I am giving away my second build a silver PS Placeable. Please hop over to this video ua-cam.com/video/8TSVk2Kf_d8/v-deo.html share it an leave a comment if you want a chance to win :) I will have two more up for sale in a few weeks :D.
    I have been shocked by the response to this video thank you everyone so much. I will go through and respond to the comments! I am going to keep working on this as the future PCB is finished. I want to make it a solderless kit so then at least anyone with a 2000 could make the build for themselves with no heavy tech skills needed. Thank you all again you are awesome!!!

      PSVita TV, install the CFW then install Adrenaline to run PSP software. Can play all your PSP games in ISO/CSO from a drive attached to the USB port. The CFW removes the Vita TV games whitelist too so you can run the whole Vita library on it, only a select few games have issues.

      I may be wrong but wasnt the ps vita tv or playstation tv capable of running most if not all the og psp games? Now i know its somewhat expensinve to some people depending on region, ive seen them go for around 100-150$ where i live which is the same as what a regular psp 2000-3000 costs or atleast close to where i live. Then again i guess that takes out most part of the portability since the playstation tv cant be played on the go but one could take it with them per say to a hotel or a friends house

    The screen lines are caused by the faulty mobo. I presume this is a 2000 model and the motherboard is TA-085 - This motherboard will burn in the same lines on any replacement screen you put on it. I wonder if this can burn in your TV?

    • @benergylive
      @benergylive  Місяць тому +6

      Hey thank you for your comments :D! It was a really fun project and our goal is to make it easier for people to make for themselves. You are right on the 2000 model. Yeah I learned the screen burn the hard way, but I don't think it will effect the TV since TV out is a whole moba of its own and not connected through the ribbon cables. I have played for a number of hours now as well. Where the screen burn messed up the new screen right away. So maybe the perfect use for these faulty boards haha. I wish I could get all the faulty ones so I could make more of these for people hahaha.

    • @SunwindPC
      @SunwindPC Місяць тому +4

      @@benergylive Yeah, that's literally the first time I can find a really good idea for this motherboard, I thought I could use these mobos only to make one of those "disassembled framed PSPs" but this has actual use for it. If you are going to be looking for such boards you need to know its only the TA-085 board and those can be found in PSP 2000 models only. There are 2 versions of the board and afaik both are starting to experience this fault. These can be identified when purchasing by looking at the Date Code in the battery compartment. Date codes 7C,7D,8A will have this motherboard. I have like 5 so maybe I'll try this project out.

      Thank you!! the positive feedback has been so helpful. I am literally working on this as we speak. I have a different solution though. Without over explaining. Shifting the console over adds a number of issues. I placed it as far to the left as I could. I might be about to squeeze a few mm more but not enough to make a difference. So what I am working on is making a piece that fits around the SD since it slightly sticks out of the psp. This part would sit flush with the outside wall when the SD is slotted in. Then you would press on this part and it would engage the SD card spring pushing the whole part and sd card out. I am prototyping right now. (I didn't like a big hole in the side anyway just wanted a working prototype now I can fine tune the edges and polish it up :) )

Stephen is finishing his design for a new motherboard. Then I will be buying a number of them to sell so people dont have to order them from the factory which is what you have to do now. Take a look at the video I made to see what it cost me to build mine :) ua-cam.com/video/i-hV2Kf_kdc/v-deo.html

    This is pretty cool! Kind of like a PSP version of a Consolizer. Nice to see that PSP hardware modding is actively making progress.
    How do PSP graphics look on a massive tv? I remember connecting one to a 32" back in the day and it didn't look great, but maybe depends on the game.

      Thank you so much! Sorry I was away this weekend I am just getting to the comments. So I run the OEM psp component out cables through a retro upscaler. There are soooooo many different kinds but you can get one for like 50$ the one I am using here is called a retrotink 5x and it gives you a lot more freedom for aspect ratio so I can manually adjust where I want the screen to be and at what scale. Then save that setting for when I play psp :)

I am thinking that once the new PCB comes out from Stephen it will be a bit cheaper to have made, then I can make 2 options people could buy kits for cheap and use there own PSP and printer to make them, or the second option would be to buy a fully built one. That would cost way more though. So I will keep everyone updated for sure :D!

    • @benergylive
      @benergylive  Місяць тому

      Yeah so right now this is relegated to the PSP 2000 since that is the model Stephen used for his BT build. there are a bunch of reasons for it, but the short version is the BT part was the key build for him so just using the native out saved tons of extra parts labor and time. but sadly no 1000 support.

      The PSP actually switches on its own if there is no LCD connected to the motherboard. This only creates an issue if like me you didnt update the firmware before building the consolizer haha the PSP will not let you update firmware while on an external monitor haha who knew. The internal build will have access to that button through bluetooth and there is a setting for auto switching as well. The dock I made would switch on its own :D
