Thank you! I never got why AoM didn't remain in the collective consciousness the way that AoE2 did. Both awesome games, but only one of them has Laser Crocodiles.
This is probably a very common sentiment, but somehow AOM makes me feel safe. It soothes me. The atmosphere, the sounds, the nature and characters. There's always something to do, some adventure. It gives me a sense of calm like no other game.
Hard agree, nothing like that one bird cawing to really relax you (points if you know what I'm talking about). I actually really want to make a tier list video on the voice acting of each unit. I might make that video after I finish editing Egyptian Deathless.
Mission 10 is where it dawned on me how good the story heroes are against Myth Units. It's almost like they made this mission before the extra bonuses against myth units were a thing, and then added the bonuses latter, which made this mission almost trivial.
Yeah, that might actually be true, or they designed some of the missions around weaker anti myth unit multipliers, and then later buffed the hell out of the multipliers.
I hope to gush a bit more about how much I love the story in the next video. I just wish there were a bit fewer Mirror Match ups, and that Gargarensis read more poetry.
@@MinMaxerGaming They're handy in deathless/no build missions but it gets old quick. Unfortunate because underworld passage would break no build missions.

But then all these youtubers make such hard challanges look like a regular playthrough. Well done my man. I'm gonna sub to see what else you are capable of!
This was just excellent, I expected a simple trip to nostalgia and was instead entertained beyond my expectations. I do not comment much on UA-cam but man, kudos to you... I subscribed and hope that many more will as soon as possible.
I've got to echo some previous sentiments in the comments, sir, well done. Not only was this entertaining but it was oddly serene as well. I am greatly anticipating any follow-up videos from you.
Great video friend! You’ve made me play the game again on titan difficulty, this looked so much fun! Might try deathless too someday. Can’t wait for part 2 ❤
Shit man it was so enjoyable to watch. Edit: i would love to see someone bring back warhammer: mark of chaos too, i have amazing memories of that game, but never managed to get it runing even with the gog version
I can't imagine playing this game without the delete key--it's my favourite. Also, as the world's foremost expert on Editor Glitch I am contractually obligated to let you know of its existence. Although I would never expect you to use it in a deathless run, if you are ever truly stumped on a problem, it might be the way to go. Other than that good vid, but you did ask for audio tips and I think I might have one for you. At 4:24 there is a very abrupt change in voiceover, this is almost certainly you rerecording the line and splicing it back in. This happens to me all the time, and the reason it sounds so jarring is usually because you are recording the line on a different day, you're more or less tired than you were, and/or you've settled into a different speaking voice. My solution to combat this is to listen to the original line (that I'm trying to match) and mimic my own voice. Try it a couple of times to really get yourself back into the same rhythm, and when you're ready to record, record yourself saying the whole line (even though you only intend on using the one section). As for the rest of your audio: the pops, static, and breathing really weren't that problematic. It's very easy for the human brain to tune small consistent anomalies like that out, although I'm sure you worked hard to bring your audio to that point. I'm certainly no expert, but I have been doing this marginally longer than you have. Have a great day, Cheers!
I TRULY LOVE YOUR VIDEO AND REALLY LOVE AOM. while waiting for AOM: Retold., This video showed me there's still more fun things to do in this awesome game. Looking forward to watch the next video you make ;)
Thank you! If I were better at the game I would play online haha, but instead I have to think of cool stuff to do in Single Player, thankfully there are alot of options.
Great video!!! I subbed and went to your channel for more and my jaw dropped when I saw only 2 videos and less than 1K subs. Keep it up, you got the stuff!
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this on headphones, contrary to the description I think the mixing you did was actually good and your voice sounds great man. Just watched this one after accidentally watching the Egyptian video but still loved it and I can’t wait for the Norse section!
This is a fanstic video for your first video (at least on this channel). Awesome work mate, I shall subscribe to see what awesome stuff you'll make in the future :D
20:04 To my recollection, you can actually safely grind Hydra heads on this mission. Buildings also count for the head incrementing, so the wooden walls in the centre of this encampment allow you to get some very strong Hydras at no risk.
This was a great video! A fun nostalgia trip, good explanations and you're clearly pretty passionate about the game. Subscribed and looking forward to the next part :)
Interesting point, you can pause the game using the Pause key on the keyboard and move the units, then when you unpause they will all move to where you told them to. Very helpful if you're like me and can't micro your way out of a barn.
Nope :( I tried that as one of my ideas. The problem is that that feature was only added in "The Titans" expansion. And the way it works is that the original campaign works on the ruleset of the patch it was originally made on. That's why you'll notice stuff like Phoenixes being much weaker than they are in multiplayer and you don't get a free myth unit when you age up.
If you there are two or more different routes for the enemy AI to take and you wall off all routes except one, the AI will always take the unwalled route. They will never try to break through the walls unless you wall off all the potential routes.
I tried this as you described and i got past the first 3 levels fine... but the fourth, Troy used a bolt on me which was pretty unavoidable. I can say deathless except for one poor hippikon :(
Check out part 2 for what I did to avoid that bolt! I didn't talk about it right away because there was something similar in the dream mission, here's the video and timestamp where I talk about how to save that hippikon: ua-cam.com/video/ICnunx1yrjg/v-deo.htmlsi=eIHydcwfFxCCc0E4 Timestamp: 20:27
@@MinMaxerGaming That's clever! And thanks for that :) I'm going to try this now. I smashed Cyzicus with juggernaughts and prevented them from killing any ships, but I'll pop off those pesky pegasus too. Cheers!
@@MinMaxerGaming Mission 5. The one where you rescue Ajax. He starts with 6 hoplites and 2 toxotes. Its not possible to save them all, but you can save a lot if you burn resto and send the cav ahead of the other units.
Such a fun format to watch, I was thinking about what other challenges I could do, like no ageing up, or only using 2 resources, but ultimately Deathless just gives the most room for creativity and fun strats.
