Good reaction. 'From Dusk Till Dawn' was only on the international release of the second album (the Japanese edition had 'Syncopation' instead - an equally great but very different song).
They had only ever played FDTD live once - that was in 2017 at the Hollywood Palladium and the pro-shot video never saw the light of day, so all we had to watch were shaky fancam videos with fancam quality audio.
When BABYMETAL were putting together their 10th anniversary album they ran a poll to get the 10 favourite songs ... the fans had a campaign for FDTD to be included and it did win the votes, but was not included on the album.
Instead we did get two new live performances when they played the 10 Budokan shows in 2021 and finally we got the pro-shot video we had all been wanting to see.
The official lyrics have never been published, we know it is all in English, but nobody had managed to accurately discern what the lyrics were. This new live performance helped a lot ... but the subtitles on this video are still largely guesswork.
I was going to say some bits sounded as they were singing something different to what was being shown on subtitles haha but nether less it was amazing 🤘🏻🦊
Thanks for your reaction to one of my favorite song. This mystical song was a mirage for a long time until it was played at the Budokan. Su's ability as a vocalist is unbelievable, and Moa's vocal parts are very effective as well.

They recently performed at Rising Sun Rock Festival a couple of days ago and SuMetal tried to compete with the sunset during Monochrome, and today (yesterday for Japanese) held the "Apocrypha - Another One" exclusive live concert for fans, returning with Headbanger!! once again and even playing rock, paper scissors during Megitsune classic shenanigans between the girls lol The place (Zepp Haneda) was so packed that fans couldn't pull out their phones when SuMetal commands for it during Monochrome.🥴
This song was performed along with Syncopation in the middle of setlist during Doomsday III and IV, it got that epic and ethereal vibes and it shows a mature side in BM second album, Metal Resistance. Both songs are part of that album, only thing is FDTD was released for international market and Syncopation only locally, of course is another suggestion for next reaction.
This is a long time waited proshot version for the fans, song was pushed to be performed again after many years and being played only one time at Hollywood Paladium in 2017 while on US tour when YuiMetal was still in the group, sadly for copyright disputes that proshot version never saw the light and we only have fancams of that.
Thankfully they performed this in 2021 at 10 Babymetal Years Budokan, and surprised everyone with this astonishing and beautiful production. Momoko Okazaki (now MomoMetal) was the avenger helping to fill the third spot and she did a great job.
Also the English lyrics is a little bit more clear thanks to Papa Xan from BMRR although this one is a fan edit with another English translation, but we don't have official lyrics yet, is one out of four songs with full English lyrics. Like someone said before, MoaMetal is like a body subtitles for this song.
Love that dubstep or brostep breakdown, is a genre widely know and popular around 2015 thanks to Skrillex among others, he actually become very good friend with BM and even invite them to perform during a Skrillex show in Japan playing a remix version of Gimme Chocolate!!

I love this song! Deep meaning, following sunset (despair / anguish / sadness), to sunrise (hope). With a minor to major key change accentuating this transition, along with the changing of lighting to reflect.
Of course, sick heavy breakdown, and Su’s angelic voice. I don’t think I’ve heard her sing at such a high register before. Moa got a small moment to shine as well which always a treat.

"From Dusk Till Dawn" is still a rarity, not only because of the mix of genres (dream trance with metal in this case) but also because of its weird live performances history as it's been already explained. I love the song and the atmosphere they created at the Budokan 2021 concerts. The light show there is one of my favorites.
Yes, Su-metal can really belt those crazy high notes and, apparently, she's now able to do some other things with her voice I don't want to spoil. 😁

Nice reaction! This is one of my absolute favorites. I had to chuckle when you mentioned leaving the subs on so you could understand the song considering the lyrics are English, lol. Unfortunately the subs on this one don't seem to match up in several spots. The lyrics, as Grington mentioned, have not been posted so we don't have a definite resource for answers. However, the version on the Babymetal Reactors Resource seems to be the most accurate so far. Kitsune Up!

@@back2thegeek AWESOME! You'll Love It! The video was decent tho, but wasn't HD. The Sound was really great at that show! The Bass was cranked way, way up, & you could feel it hit your chest everytime the bassist plucked a note! The guest band Hellyeah had the sound just right! I guess when Babymetal got on stage their sound board techs left everything much the same! No idea if that was the case, but the powerful sound Babymetal had on From Dusk To Dawn imo was Epic! It was also the 1st live debut of that song! We were all blindsided by that, & we freaked out as it was ttly unexpected! ENJOY!

This is such an underrated song and its really kind of unique. Its kind of a shame that they've only performed it live three times.

FDTD for me is an artistry masterpiece. The mixing of this song together with Su-Metal synthesised vocals create a twilight zone atmosphere like it's coming from outer space 🚀. "FDTD" is exclusively available for the International audience and the Japanese audience got "Syncopation".

Su and Moa totally nail this song and it needs both them to be so co-ordinated a very tricky thing to pull off live.

Such a beautiful song. Even though it is on the previous album, I consider FDTD to be a prelude to the Trilogy of Lights. Where ToL expresses the grieving process over a great loss, I see FDTD as the loss event or cause leading up to the grief (In the end).

Personally as a English speaker, I don't focus to much on the lyrics.
It seems that Japanese to English translations can be notoriously bad so if I want to understand more of the lyrics, I should learn more Japanese. Keep on rocking.
