Good choices. You should check out Over the Future. The Babymetal live version and the Karen Girls version when Suzuka Nakamoto was part of a 3 girl pop group.
Just to be exact, Babymetal's album is scheduled to be released on March 24, 2023. They also just announced that they'll be going on a European tour as the special guest of Sabaton with Finnish band Lordi as the opener. The tour will run from April 14 until the 20th of May. I wonder if they'll perform "Oh! Majinai" live with Joakim. That song is the most WTF of all of their songs for me.
In other Japanese music news, LOVEBITES posted a pic of the number 3 in front of Haruna's kit. Combined with yesterday's 4 in front of Miyako's gear, it's definitely and obviously a countdown. They have a premier set for 8:00 am Eastern on Friday. New bass guitarist incoming!

Well, first single will come out this month and the second in November. And I'm mentally unable to not listen to them the very first second they get released. And according to the snippets published it's gonna be bonkers!
"FDTD" is a rarity as you have been already told. And I love rarities. The "futuristic" genre is a mix between dream trance and metal. And it sounds amazing!
I've seen Su using falsetto before and that surprised me a lot as well. Specifically at the beginning of "Tsubasa wo kudasai" from Legend D. It's impressive the way she's able to switch between falsetto and head voice.
I see what you said about the band, and yep they are in a sort of tranches around the stage. Although I'm not a great fan of placing them there, it has a purpose. Unlike the shows in 2014, this time they used the 100% of the Budokan's bleachers (with its capacity reduced to 50% due the restrictions). In 2014, there was a sector behind the band without any audience. In both cases, there is no audience right behind (all the members of) the band's back.

Makes perfect sense with the bleachers and capacity now that you mention that. I almost forgot this was during Covid! As for the new releases, believe me, it's going to take some effort to not listen to them. Who knows, things may change before they come out. I just really like this whole "evolution of BabyMetal" thing I've been doing and I'm torn about skipping Metal Galaxy to hear a new song. Don't even get me started on my thoughts on Concept albums too...ugh...going to be tough!
Growing up my best friend was a drummer, and he told me back then how important it is for the drummer and the bass player to be able to see each other, however these guys do a lot of studio work where they seldom get to see the other band members, I believe Koba supplies everyone with practice versions of the songs minus the part they are supposed to play so they do not need to see each other as there is very little improvisation, my guess is this is because they use a lot of back tracks, and the lighting and pyro etc would all be pre programmed and also the addition of the choreography meaning that a solo that dragged on too long or was too short would throw everything off.
With enough practice, anything is possible. LOL! Thanks!

In making Babymetal songs, American rock and pop basically use chords as the basis for the development of the melody, so there are many similar melodies, but Babymetal songs are similar to the development of jazz chords. It is composed of wonderful melodies that are unpredictable on top of it. Plus a charming and creative dance choreographed by Mikiko. Of course, the biggest epic is Su-Metal's amazing and moving vocals, which I can't explain enough. And Moametal's sharp dance that excites it. And the performance power of the world's most wonderful Kami band, who proclaims that the three members of Babymetal are the most wonderful. BABYMETAL is maintained as a team, and everyone respects each other and is a great group of people who are on good terms. They are wonderful and lovable people who can be proud of the world as Japanese.

This song is definitely and will always be on my top 5 for babymetal.... When I had a friend listen to this, I had to point out to him that the high pitched sound he was hearing, it was the singer singing..... and when they said "Break" and dropped, I was aboutle to toss a table when it hit.... From hearing the snippets of whats coming out for their new album, some of it sounds like its going along this style... Can't wait till their new album drops.🤘🦊🤘

While they are describing "THE OTHER ONE" as a concept album, I dont think there will be a chronology tying the songs together as the concept is "multi-versal" (metal-versal?) in that each song will represent a version of Babymetal from a different, alternate universe.
Needless to say, I wont be waiting for the album to listen to the singles. 😁🤘🦊🤘😁

@@GlassMoonGaming Yes, but the lore often gets convoluted and sometimes even contradictory. Usually to suit the theme of a particular show or tour. Most of their songs are by design unique and completely independant of previous songs (even the Trilogy of Lights can be performed independant of each other).
That said, future shows will likely to have some awesome new lore tying songs together just for the "rock theater" effect that Babymetal puts into shows.

Nice reaction. The only genre I can but this song in is Babymetal. So different from everything else it could only be one thing, Babymetal. All the years they have performed and somehow, they still manage to surprise even their biggest fans. An amazing feat. The 10 years of Babymetal concert series was an amazing feat in itself. When they add in performances like this. The raise the bar to epic level. Enjoy the ride through the foxhole and into the Babymetal multiverse of music.

They put the bonus tracks on the Japan release to encourage Japanese to purchase from Japanese retailers as it is much cheaper to import cds from the west than it is to buy the locally sold cds, fortunately for us we get to enjoy the bonus versions due to the power of internet. This song was voted by fans to be included in the 10 Babymetal years album, but because Babymetal did not own the rights to the only live performance at that date it was not included. I think they decided to include it in The 10 Babymetal Budokan as a consolation for this omission. This is one of the few songs where I personally prefer the studio audio to the live, I feel the Studio version where Su says "break" right before the breakdown has better timing and just makes that breakdown seem more impactful to the song.

For a couple years, I didnt realize Su was singing in the beginning!!! LOL! I just thought it was an electronic instrument until one day I happened to watch a reaction video with subtitles to the song. Good reaction!🤘🦊🤘

@@GlassMoonGaming my theory about the concept, isn’t that the songs tell a story. I think the concept is that each song is a reimagined version of previous songs. That the new songs take a musical theme, or a few bars from a previous song and rework it into something different.
On some of the song previews I have heard bits from From Dusk Till Dawn and Arkadia.
The idea is that there is another, unknown side of babymetal. Or a journey through the multiverse where other versions of their songs have been found.
At least that is my take on it.

I believe that during at least one concert Moa's in-ear monitor went out. That was back before Yui left and they coordinated visual cues to keep the choreo in-synch. Those girls are so incredibly professional it's unreal.

excellent content Glass Moon-Metal, my absolute favorite song, did you notice that it was all in English? Su is like the 5th Kami with her voice, it took us since 2016 to figure out what the words are and thanks to Su for making it more clear, I feel like 95% sure about the lyrics, but it's still one of the coolest songs by anyone, ever.

It's funny that you thought that babymetal will release a single in december when actually it's the only month they will not release anything before the album:D. They'll release singles in October, November, January, February and March.

THe light show for this song is breathtaking! Did you notice how in the beginning and in the end the stage was yellow colored representing Dusk and Dawn, while during the song the lights were more towards the blue? :D

Great reaction. FDTD is one of the few songs they sing completely in English ... but we are still not entirely sure what the lyrics are. The most recent attempts to work out what the lyrics are, since these Budokan performances last year, are obviously much closer to being correct than the older attempts when all people had to go on was the album recording and the fancam videos from the first time it was played live in 2017 at the Hollywood Palladium.
Prof AJ Hartley and a friend of his posted a lengthy video a few days ago where they did their best to work it out - that was very interesting, as all his BABYMETAL analyses are.
Looking forward to your (continuing) regular BABYMETAL Monday reactions ... and I envy your patience waiting for the album in March and not jumping in to listen to the 5 songs they will be releasing in the months leading up to that. Personally, as I'm sure you can guess, I will not be waiting.🤘🦊🤘

This is a long time waited proshot version for the fans, song was pushed to be performed again after many years and being played only one time at Hollywood Paladium in 2017 while on US tour when YuiMetal was still in the group, sadly for copyright disputes that proshot version never saw the light and we only have fancams of that.
Thankfully they performed this last year at 10 Babymetal Years Budokan, and surprised everyone with this astonishing and beautiful production. Momoko Okazaki was the avenger helping to fill the third spot and she did a great job.
Also the English lyrics is a little bit more clear thanks to Papa Xan from BMRR,, but we don't have official lyrics yet, is one out of three songs with full English lyrics. Like someone said before, MoaMetal is like a body subtitles for this song.
Btw now that you mentioned the electronic vibes, which maybe got a progressive trance not really sure but definitely some bro/dubstep, in fact KobaMetal met Skrillex and work together on something for BM (there's a picture of those moments along with the girls) and even collab with Skrillex performing in one of his set in Japan and Gimme Chocolate!! remix, so if you look for the new recent public BM snippets you'll find one with clearly this same vibes, go listen and come back to tell me which one is that, "90%" "91%"... and so on posts, but i totally get if you don't want to do it and want for the full album but don't take it too seriously and try to reach the singles at least, i don't want to give spoilers but if you like this "futuristic" song you're gonna find some of that on the new songs.
And yea SuMetal is singing with some backing track on certain parts of course, also MoaMetal got her own parts but I'm not sure if is lip sync, is all good thou, and the IEM are really important to do this kind of top notch live show.
Also nice thing you mentioned being the same venue they performed before in 2014, it would have been great if you watch that already so you get the idea why reaching this prestigious venue again and celebrating their 10 years was really important for our girls, especially MoaMetal, although the capacity was cut to halve due to pandemic situation and the crowd just like previous Budokan couldn't allowed to shout, mosh, crow surfing or do wall of death, instead they can stomp their feet, clap their hands or doing human wave like in certain Word Cups at stadium, it was fun either way.

Hmm...I really don't want to tell you what to do, but about the idea of not doing TOO content until album release, I think it's probably not the best way to approach it. Koba is crazy, and plans stuff like 3 or 4 years in advance. Like that time when in 2015 they were doing the three trilogy concerts and in the Tokyo Dome show in 2016 we discovered the three venues from the trilogy shows were drawing a triangle in a map of Tokyo with the Tokyo Dome in the middle, like if he was an illuminati or a serial killer or something like that xD If Koba is going to start releasing 5 music videos before the album, I'm pretty sure that's how he intends the story of The Other One to be experienced. Then if you want in march on the album's release, a whole album review can do for a nice experience too. Of course, do as you feel comfortable doing, but I invite you to jump into this train and enjoy this journey with us.

I know exactly where you are coming from. It's gonna be a hard decision because I see merit in both. Understanding how crazy and pre-planned things have been, it makes sense to do it the way you suggest. I'm also expecting lots of blockage coming down the path. LOL. Oh yeah don't expect they are allowing reactions for the MVs, they were even blocking the The One version they published on october past year, that's not in any DVD or anything, it was just content for UA-cam. Amuse is going to be ruthless about that.
11:00 their are actually a bunch of instances we know from watching and from interviews when the girls didn't have working in-ear-monitors, but we've never heard about the Kami band. But I'm certain it has also happened. We also know the girls like to check on each other to see how they are doing. Because they also need to sync up. The one time at a festival one of the Kami band members tapped on the wrong peddle and a very different guitar sound than intended came out for a moment. 🙂
I can't imagine what goes through their mind if/when that happens during such a HUGE production. The show must go on!
@@GlassMoonGaming Babymetal's hardest to perform song live is: Tales of the Destinies, if you watch the one time performance you wouldn't see it, but supposedly Su-metal didn't have sound on her in-ear-monitoring at the start of the song. They are trained like ... I don't know,... they can perform it blind. Which gives them convince to keep going.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。This song has been performed only 3 times to date. A limited number of fans who were at Hollywood Palladium on June 16, 2017 had been privileged to experience this song for 4 years. (Rick Wagner may show up soon and talk about the performance) On February 16, 2021, when the intro started, everyone at Budokan was firstly shocked and gradually god excited understanding what was going to happen. At the end of the song, however, everyone got confused with what he / she witnessed because it was too surprising and mesmerizing. On the following day (Feb.17), the audiences came to the venue expecting the setlist would remain the same and FDTD would be played again. Once this song started many of them (including me) just stared at the stage without moving as if they were trying to burn the performance into their retinas. Su-Metal did it perfectly. "In the end ! (or In the air!)" Divine voice. And Moa and Momoko did perfect choreo like angels smoothly dancing around the goddess. Oh! I actually saw and listened to it twice for sure, but still "was it real?" (Even after reconfirmed it in Blu-ray video)

I think this is Koba scratching his EMO/goth itch and we end up with something that could be described as ambient music that reminds me of The Cure. The lyrics are in English and frankly I have no idea what they mean. I think that they are pretty irrelevant and really the whole song is just going for a feeling. I just let it transport me back to my teenage bedroom listening to Robert Smith and then I actually listen to some Robert Smith. This and The One video from the Budokan 2022 show how good BM are at emotional manipulation.
