The RTIC 20 Qt hard sided cooler is much less expensive than some of the other rotomolded cooler brands on the market. So what gives?
In this RTIC 20 Qt cooler review, I’ve tested and compared RTIC to the top brands to see where this cooler is crushing it and where it falls short.

In the 20-25 quart hard sided cooler category, the RTIC 20 Qt wins the value-for-money category. In insulation tests, it was only beat by the YETI Roadie 24 (which had three hours, or 5% more insulating power).
But the RTIC’s price is roughly 60% less. Plus, with features like the bear lock, drain plug, and slimmed down stainless steel handle, I think the RTIC 20 Qt is the best small hard cooler you can buy.

Wow! I love this cut test. That's a major investment to give the subscribers valuable info. Thanks CoolerSpy.
Tremendous work, analysis and the presentation is very impressive. Much appreciated
The foam was not mixed properly in the Yeti. You can see darker color, that is the result of an improper mix ratio in the 2 part foam they used.
Solid review, very scientific. THANK YOU. Please review rtic v yeti softcoolers...And maybe even ice pack tests
Lifetime cooler test? Best budget high performance cooler!
Great video. Thank you for this
Awesome videos comparing the 2. I have a LifeTime 55qt with wheels that I use for camping trips with the guys and that works super well! Been looking for a 20-30 qt and I’m not sure if I want to go with the LifeTime for that because I will most likely end up using it more often than my larger one. Not sure if you’re out of pocket on these coolers but I’m sure we would all love to see one of those smaller LifeTimes cut in half!
Keep the content coming! Even when I’m not in the market for coolers it’s just enjoyable to watch cooler content for some reason 😂😂
Your videos are extremely well done and amazing quality. Definitely thought you were a seasoned UA-camr with like a million plus subs. But you earned a sub here! Best of luck to you and will see you on the next one!
thank you so much for the kind words and the idea looking at LifeTime. Many more videos to come! I appreciate your subscribing as well!
the RTIC 20 is identical to my Yeti 20 (which they stopped making for the Roadie 24)...you wonder how they got away with patent copying etc...I have spent the past week on getting a cooler, soft side, hard side, rolling, collapsible etc...if yeti made a 24 with wheels, that would be a home run but nope...thanks for your time and the video
Please make a video with the cater gator 25 or 45
In Yeti's defense, comparing the foam in a Yeti to the foam in other brands is like comparing apples to oranges. The foam in a Yeti, according to lab tests I've seen on line, is actually less dense( more air), which gives it a greater insulating factor. However, I don't know if it's worth the greater cost for my uses.
That's not the way insulation works, bud. If it were more efficient (less dense, more air), then just leaving an open cavity and no foam would be best. Yeti doesn't do anything better than their competition, they just have the better brand and can charge more. That's the power of a brand. Nothing more.
@Charles Rogers Yea, ok, I guess you're an expert in all things cooler 😂😅😂😅 It's funny because people like you who complain are just butt hurt that they can't afford a Yeti 😂😂🤣🥰
@@TheAmishElectrican what an ignorant thing to say. you just sound angry. I happen to work for a cooler manufacturer, so yes, I am an expert. Why are you even assuming that I'm just anti Yeti (which, btw, please explain how I said anything negative about Yeti in my comment. Be specific). And lastly, it's interesting that you feel the need to take a guess at my financial status without knowing anything about me. You might want to think about talking to a professional about why you're so angry... it is not good for your health.
@@CRGlobal LoL, I'm not angry at all. Kinda funny that you say you're an "expert" because you work for a cooler company lol So if someone works at McDonald's, are they a culinary expert? You said Yeti doesn't do anything different in their insulation, BUT they do. They have a denser foam than the competition. As far as calling me "ignorant" I don't think you fully know what that word means and I'm sorry that I upset and triggered you so much so that you needed to resort to calling me that lol ❄️. Little tip, maybe save up for a while, cut some coupons, and one day, you'll be a big boy with a big boy cooler. Now run along, I hear your husband calling you for supper...P.S. Maybe apply yourself, and you wouldn't be stuck at a dead-end job in a cooler factory 😂😅😅😅😅 You can go ahead and reply, but I'm not gonna waste my time reading it. You're obviously too emotional on this subject, and I don't wanna put myself through the agony of listening to your crying and whining 😘
@@CRGlobal just because you work for a cooler manufacturer doesn’t make you an expert. Haha! I worked for a hospital before and knew nothing about medicine. I now work for a nuclear power plant, but I’m definitely not a nuclear engineer. Get off of your high horse.
Drain holes also all heat in
what do you do with the cut coolers? can i have that one?
i think its bc of leakage from hole that makes it less insulated.
That could definitely be the reason why. Thank you for watching!
Can you do the 1 gallon jug challenge? Like so I can see if you will or not! I won't be able to see!
Pelican and orca are made in America! So is the lifetime 28, and it’s lighter!
So it's smaller, doesn't last as long. Heavier, the handle is questionable long term
I always keep my snackies and num nums in separate coolers
that's the way
RTIC only down fall, was too heavy .
They make a ultra light
There's literally hundreds of videos comparing top brands
What a waste to cut them
How else would we see what's hidden inside? It's hardly a waste when the result is valuable information.
