Going on 2yrs with my 52qt RTIC UL.. love it, zero complaints. If the wheeled version had the same ice retention I’d buy it. But south Florida heat is no joke lol

I laugh from the remarks you think of on the spur of the moment, I worry about your wife concerning the cooler budget, and most importantly, I listen to your advice from the testing as well as from your experiences. I had to return a 100 qt cooler to Amazon of the Coleman 316 because well-lt was so large that it took up half the space in my panel van! So, of course, I am still on the prowl for a decent cooler and am very grateful to see your new video! My concern is budget, extras and of course perfirnance (so I want the one with the divider and food basket ... that means I will watch again to verify) , lol. First, as always, love your cooler videos! 👍Literally freaked out a lil bit at the beginning..I was like where’s the hot dog?! But thankfully you added later! 😂 Not surprised with Yeti winning (given past performance,) but must say the Coho is definitely impressive. Been fighting the urge to buy it every time I walk past it at Costco, after watching your review of it last time. It’s seems like too good of a value to pass up.
I was a bit ashamed that these weren't all-beef franks, but I was in a pinch.
Thank you for the honest reviews glad to see someone pointing out that these coolers are not rotomolded. Yeti seems really sleazy to me in that a lot of reviews and descriptions of the roadie line say they are and Yeti really says nothing as to how they are manufactured and just continues that myth. Really like my coho $50 well spent.
Ya I thought it was pretty sketchy that they don't disclose that.
After a few days of watching multiple videos (many of them yours) and reading tons of reviews, I finally settled on the RTIC 52qt Wheeled "ultralight" for my next cooler..... apparently the rest of the world did too because I can literally only find them in white online (for the normal prices), and I want either the dark grey or "trailblazer" colorway which appear to be out of stock everywhere. Good thing I don't REALLY need it until Labor Day weekend. 😂

I have the rtic and it doesn’t hold ice that long two weeks ago I put two bags of ice in it and 3 hours later it was melted so use caution if you buy one

Do you know if the pelican you reviewed is the same construction as the pelican 45 quart with wheels? The 45qt weighs in at 37 pounds and cost $450 but it’s also called elite.
Indeed it's confusing with Pelican. No, the wheeled and non-wheeled Elite is different. The non-wheeled is injection molded plastic. The wheeled is rotomolded plastic, so heavier. But I've tested it before too and it did worse than the non-wheeled.
looks like RTIC has a new cooler, the RTIC 45 QT Wheeled Ultra-Tough Cooler...any chance you can review this?

Hey Buddy you had a good point if you don't need a cooler don't add more wasted plastic.. I do need one and you seem to have way too many... do you have any roller coolers you were going to throw away because I'll take one please 😅 ps love your videos .
I still have sinister plans for my coolers, but one day may begin to release them into the wild.
So if i have a sandwich in the dry goods basket but in the day they are all getting above food safe temps ?😮
I've thought the same thing. If the cooler is in direct sunlight, I think that is a risk. If it's in the shade it doesn't get quite as warm based on other tests I've done. I think it's fine for a day or two, or longer for fruits and veggies. But for meat and mayo, you might want to keep it closer to the ice. Depends on how full the cooler is too.if packed to the brim with ice and food, I think the sandwich in the basket would be fine.
May I ask why no kong , Otter or Orca cooler in here?
I’ll answer my question I’m assuming because they don’t have ultra light cooler
As you mentioned it is primarily because they have no ultralight or injection molded coolers. Kong and Orca are rotomolded, but I cover them in other videos. OtterBox was injection molded but they were discontinued a couple years ago.
The 2 drains came from a lawsuit between Eric and yeti. One owner from yeti left Nd started rtic, and “copied” yeti so they had to make the cooler different somehow.

They were not. I only unlocked them when I observed them then closed and latched them til the next day.
