I'm curious about the trust on it why was the trust spelled trvst on this coin was it on purpose or error
@@laurasanders7998 it was on purpose. For some coins, they employed the Classical Latin spelling where the letter V was used for what we know today as U. There was no U in classical Latin. I hope this helps.

JB I do not know how often you check your comments, however you got me into coin roll hunting last year. I prefer the half dollar coins. I study the list you provided about all the coins to look out for. I have found two coins you have never mentioned and I wonder if you can tell me about them. They are both $0.50 halves dated 1982 with a gold hue. The strange thing is there is a stamped date above in god we of 1960 and another stamp above trust of 1980 which are both very small stamps. Very curious to know what the stamps mean. ??? ps I cannot make out whether their stamped D or P

Is it possible to have a 1922 coin with same liberty women pic on both sides ? I have packed this coin since I was a youngster it has COPY stamped just above in God-we-trust only on one side .. the other side is very beaten up… other side fairly clean with “copy” stamped on in…… I have no idea where it came from or value if it has any… just a child hood piece thanks

I found one of these in a box left in my grandfathers house, they were emptying everything to sell the property and it seemed like a wild mix of change from vacarions and some old coins found in old desks, cupboards, cookie boxes etc. everything from old German Reichsmarks to small Russian coins, old Austrian Schillings before Euro was brought into the whole EU region, Serbian change, small French Swedish change up to British and even US coins, half dollars and even one from Denmark.
But the one I found was the "normal" one I guess, without the 270 ° rotation, on mine the eagle is exactely standing on its head, if I turn the coin.

TRVST is Latin for TRUST.
it was the way they typed years ago, many letters were different ages ago and changed many times until they are what they look now. Also the alphabet didn't always have 26 letters, there were more thst got cancelled because they were considered too complicated and easily mistaken for another one.... I know at least ten they cancelled..like the long S, the & and others I can't type because obviously they were removed from our nowadays used keyboards..

Latin has no U and a V is used instead. This is the style of that era when some words on coins, documents, buildings, etc. were printed in Latin.
