Seller, “I’d like $20k”
Rick, “best I can do is $50-$100k”
Me, “Is Rick high today?”
No you just missed all the times when he offered much more than was asked for cos of the value.
@@bellmeisterful dude, i was thinking the same.. 😂😂..seller want for 20k,then he said its worth alot more than that and called in expert..
Soooo how's your day do you own a ranch yet...?
Wannabe Ranch I think rick was buying it for himself , the fact that there are only a dozen of these known in existence. Rick is a collector as well , and if he was trying to resell it there’s no way he would’ve payed 80k for it .
I’m shocked he gave him 80k...it’s priced at north of 50 but less then 100k...thought he’d only go like 50k-65k...80k is a good deal.
Rick offering more money than asked is a part of us history
There are finds that would just come back on the reputation of the place if they didn't offer at least fair money.
Like if an army widow brings in a 62 Custom Color Stratocaster, you tell her it's not a $500 guitar and you're both going to make a lot of money if that's ok with her.
fax bruh
He did it for a faberge broach too. The lady had found it in her junk drawer, wanted a few k, he offered her something like 50k
Andy G that surprised me too.
🤣
Rick: "You were willing to take $20Grand for it."
Customer: "You weren't willing to offer me $20Grand for it."
Best comeback ever and shut Rick DOWN!
Rick joked around say that he would buy it for 20 grand when he said "yeah let's go"

As a fellow coin collector I know that Rick also knows that this coin will always go up in value. He knows the hobby very well and even at this price it is
a smart buy.
He’s surprisingly good at appraising art as well.
Do you know where I can sell the rare coins? thanks
I got one a 1922 PEACE DOLLAR a bit circulated and a 1880 MORGAN DOLLAR .Wander how much they worth now .
Hi Paul, i have a beautiful 1923 and 1974 Silver dollars. Looking for a buyer please
@@aberosal7784 i see the 1922 for 140k. So good buy by Rick.
Rick knew it was worth more than 20k and still didn’t rip him off, respect.

@@strattuner Exactly, if the camera wouldnt have been there, a total rip off whould have occurred.
That's rarer than the coin is.
What a guy, if the camera was off he would have negotiated it down to 10k haha
Rick is extra nice to him because he’s a fellow baldie. Baldies stick together like the Marines
They probably have cockfights too
This is true there's a bald guy code of conduct lol.

This is true
It's true, and we can tell the machine cutters from razors, weed out the weak.
@@ivv6721 but not everyone with a bald head is going bald so it's hard to use a razor when all your hair is still there
That's the first time I've seen Rick offer something on the higher side of the scale. Normally if they say between 50 and 100 he'd be low-balling at 45
Depending on items.. he loves coins and he wouldnt risk to loos it such a big opportunity
Weird items will sit around in the shop a while, and every day an item sits it costs the pawn shop money. An item like this Peace Dollar, however, will sell instantly in an online auction.
Ya, I was shocked he started at $65k and even more shocked he went to $80k so easily. Guess he figured it's gonna be a really easy sell, and flipping it for another $10k would happen in days.
Rick can easily set the auction price at 75K and watch the offers blow through the roof to over 100.
Shoulda started at 60k then 2 more to 75k. Woulda saved another 5k. Thats a must buy item and you gotta start high for an item like that.
Paying four times original asking?? That’s an insult to the Rick Harrison ‘I’m taking all the risk here’ community.
Lmfaooo
He already had a buyer ready I suspect. Easiest 20/30k he’s made
No risk in that one. That will be sold again within 24 hours
There is no risk here he basically already had it authenticated
No rush in that one coin value if kept in.good condition will only keep raising

The Dizzle is in the house

Yeah, I was pretty shocked he went for 80k I mean when he offered 65k I thought the guy would take it, I knew rick wouldn't do 90k but 80 is still pretty high. Usually you see rick not budge on his offers. or he'll say something like, "I have to find the right buyer, it will sit here for a year or more" etc etc etc.
Walked in asking for $20K and left with $80K. Rick was a gentleman.
Rick probably still made 10-20 k on it
You know it's fake right?
@@The570Experience no. It’s definitely not. There are some fake aspects of it, and staged moments, but these are real people that really own these items.

One of the very few segments where, just from the camera closeups alone, you could see what they were talking about in terms of the depth and sharpness of the strike. Exquisite detail. What an beautiful coin.
Rick's moments of honesty are laudable. The guy could've probably gotten $85,000. That's a very, very special coin.
He won one of the most rarest coins ever minted in American history in a poker game.
That's that most American thing I've ever heard of.

He's definitely the luckiest seller in Pawn Stars history. It's also one of the very few times that Rick folded. He knows better than to low ball a player. Hahaha
If he went to any other pawn store and they knew how much this coin was really worth and he said 20k they definitely wouldn’t say it’s worth more they will just agree on the offer and I actually respect Rick for doing that
Anyone who takes something that is genuinely rare to a PAWN SHOP and expects top dollar is nuts. Take it to a high end auction.
it’s a tv show
They would also want to authenticate it first.

I would guess he will lose it in poker games.
The fact that this coin is basically exactly 100 years old, you can’t get any more perfect than that.
"Old" doesn't necessarily mean "valuable". Heck, I've got an English farthing from 1672 that I paid $10 for about 20 years ago. The difference is that this coin is exceedingly rare.
Dude... can you imagine ASKING twenty thousand and leaving with 80? That's unreal.

Imagine playing poker and throwing that into the pot and losing ....
No ,lol
That’s called being a degenerate
Probably inherited the coin and had no understand of it's value. If the guy wanted 20k it was probably at most a 10k wager.
Nether player had any idea what the coin was or what it was worth, NGC has deleted this coin, my guess is Rick had it graded by PCGS.
Yep, kind of guy who gambles that coin away is the kind of guy who gambles the house away while wife and kids are sleeping in it
2:47 dude I had no idea Edward Norton was such an expert on coin collecting
The guy with the peace dollar must play in some pretty high stakes games. I can't believe someone would throw that in a pot and not know what it is.
A) The poker story is likely a cover, he probably got it doing something a little shadier.
B) If someone is letting you wager huge amounts OFF the table, it means he has a REALLY good hand, and you should fold and keep that silver dollar for another time.
He looks Jewish, so I sure he does play in high stakes games. Jews are like Asians-they all have money.

Bruh, an episode of Rick offering more money should be considered a HOLY GRAIL of american television and deserves an Emmy award
High relief? What's that mean?
@Susie Cox it has higher sharper detailing on the coin, and with there being higher sharper detailing, it was harder to knock the coin out of the mint so many of them didn't come out right and canceled production

Appraiser says more then 50k less then 100k Rick settles for 80k hmmm not a typical rick move what’s the catch?
I don’t know but I always feel so good when people walk in for one price and get much more.
The coin guy Rick brought in was good. He always seems to give a legit value to coins and such. He and Rebecca are the two I would trust the most out of the appraisers he brings in.
Great way to see the rare coins, which otherwise none of us would have seen these beautiful and valuable coins 💲💲💲
Rick really wanted it for himself. He knows the value with only appreciate more in time so he wins either way

Um.. it’s a rehearsed TV show?
If he accepted the $20,000 asking price he would loose customers bc they are afraid of getting cheated
