I bought this mat after the first time I saw you using it. I knew straight away it was what I had been looking for. Like you say so easy to clean and I needed something my heat gun could dribble on that wouldn't be affected. It's a great size for my desk and was also a very good price. And I think it will last for life . Thankyou Vicky :o)
Excellent product review, Vicky. I've used a glass cutting mat for years and was so impressed by it that, when I purchased a desk for my art room, I bought a glass topped desk. I love how easy it is to clean it. My glass mat is actually a glass cutting board that I bought in the kitchen department at Target. Even though I already have a glass cutting mat, I think I'll probably be buying one of these new mats because of the lines and guides. That is definitely a plus. Thanks for the review!
I was so hesitant to purchase one of these thinking it was too good to be true, but your video was SO thorough that I'm headed over there now! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this Vicky! ❤️
This was a very good review on the glass mats. I think I'll pull out the one I have had for years and never used because I didn't want to dull my cutting tools. Thanks so much.
I have a smaller glass one from Tonic, but I didn't know they had this large one. I need it in my life. I use the other one all the time when I'm inking. It cleans so great.
I have a memory keeper glass mat Since I’ve started card making four years ago. It’s amazing. I don’t even know where my nonstick mat went! I would love this one if it was in inches because it’s larger and I love that you can place your ideas on the different mats.
I was always scared to use a craft knife to cut on my glass mat, so this definitely makes me feel better! Thank you for taking the time to create this review.
I love mine too although for cutting I am using a selfhealing mat agaun because I did get scratches on the glass and I can't stand the sound of the knife going over glass. All other things work pergectly
I've used a glass mat for years. I keep two craft knifes in my caddy, one for cleaning adhesive, one for cutting. The back non cutting side of your knife works easily and doesn't dull your blade. I've found my knifes don't dull any more quickly on my glass verses a cutting mat. I also use my wood burning knife blade for trimming easy mount foam stamp backing from my uncounted rubber stamps! I can't believe everyone hasn't switched to glass!
Hi Vicky, thanks for that review. I already had a glass cutting mat from we R memory keepers, but I only use it for fimo work or with the fuse because it is quite small. So I bought the glass cutting mat from tonic studios using your link a few weeks ago . I’m so glad about it. As you said, it is far more easy to keep it clean than a regular green cutting mat. Plus I really appreciate not to have to switch between the cutting mat and the craft sheet depending on what I do. The glass cutting matt from Tonic Studios is also a bit smaller than the A3 green cutting matt that I had which is great on my desk !
It’s exactly as you showed!! Love mine, too!!😍😍 just be aware of ceramic on top - I have a little ceramic bowl for my bits and pieces and that tiny little bowl (the bottom of it was a bit rough) scratched my glass a bit. It doesn’t bother me but just be aware of it - bigger scratches might bother the crafting process☺️
Thank you for this review! I've been using a glass mat from We R Memory Keepers for some time now and absolutely love it! It is 14 x 14 inches which is perfect for smaller craft spaces.
I've had my Tonic glass mat for quite a while now and I love it. I have to admit that I do have a couple of scratches on mine but they don't affect the use of the mat in any way and it's still ridiculously easy to clean and work on despite the slight damage. It took me quite a while to decide I really needed one and I had it sitting in my Amazon wish list for months and months. Then one day, the price dropped dramatically, so I snapped one up quickly (we all know how the prices rise and fall on Amazon at the drop of a hat). I've never been happier and think I would find it hard to go back to my self healing mat now. Bejay xx
That is so nice to know, Bejay. I have one in my shopping cart and just can't make myself purchase it without knowing if it will be as great as advertised.
I'm so glad you shared this video! I've seen the mat in your videos and hesitated to get one since it is a bit costly. But I was looking for a self healing mat larger than the one I have and I now want a glass one as it addresses so many issues i have with self healing mats or craft mats. Thanks again and also for the links to mats with measurements in inches!
Thank you for doing this review, Vicky. I'd noticed that you were using a new mat and have been curious about it. You covered all the questions that I had about it. :-) Thanks again!
Thank you Vicky, I've been using the We Are Memory Keepers glass mat for a while now and love it. But might just have to pickup this one and let my granddaughter use the other one on her side of the table 😎
Wow this was fantastic Vicky! Not only am I going to get one I am going to get this one, I work in inches but always think centimetres are more exact. I love the layout!
The glass is an hard surface. I can't get used to the noise it makes whrn I put something hard like an acrilic block ets. Also not sure what to do with my tonic mat sheet 🤔
Thanks for the review.....I also was reading that cutting on glass is sharper....I do iris Folding and to cut out my aperture cutting on glass was better......
Seem to be sold out at US locations. I found a wonderful price and shipping on Ebay from Great Britain and just ordered it. Thanks for a great review Vicky.
Thank you - this review sold me on this version of the glass mat vs the new Tim Holtz version. I like the larger working space and that it all has a white background - I also appreciate the different sizes of pages and layering options shown on this one as opposed to the TH version. Hochanda has a great deal on this mat right now.
they are pretty much the same. The main difference they have is the grid in my opinion. The white one is in centimeters while the black in inches. Their size is exactly the same. I will post a video next week about them since I for the black one too.
I love my glass mat. Mine doesn't have a white backing, which would be nice to have. I didn't hear you mention that the glass never warps so it is always perfectly flat as a base for stamping--no bad images because your desk was warped or had a nick in the surface.
Thank you so much for this review. I have been searching for information like this. I have the glass mat in my shopping cart, but wanted to make sure it was really going to work before purchasing since it is a little bit expensive. I worried about the glare from the glass for videos, but yours are beautiful, so I think that is not an issue. Have a great day, Vicky!
If acrylic paint dries on it, do you just scrape it off? I have acrylic paint stains on many things (I'm messy), and I sure could use something to work on that I can keep clean.
Thanks, That's a great review. I just got a glass mat and was wondering what the difference in use was with the self healing matt. I'm glad i got it now! Thanks!
Hi Vicki, thanks for your great review......maybe I have missed it but can you use alcohol inks like the Ranger ones on the glass mat? And just clean it with the blending solution?
yes, you can then easily clean it with either rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer! Don't use your blending solution for this since it's expensive, keep it for your techniques ;)
Great review, thank you! But i have a question about use it with papers. Doesn't the paper slide easy when you work on the glass surface? If you work on paper with your selfhealing mat it lays relative still in the same place and don't slide. This glass mat are the perfect to clean and work on, i have destroyd a lot of self healing mat with my heatgun and adhesive hahaha-
I’ve had no issues with sliding, but a dot of adhesive will solve the problem if you do, either permanent or temporary adhesive is fine. I also use my glass mat for extending the life of painters tape used on projects. Stick any good pieces from any project right on the glass and use over n over as long as the stickiness lasts, saves time too!
Thank you Vicky for a most enjoyable and informative review. I have never seen one of these mats. Not sure if they are available in Australia. I am off to check it out. Thank you so much.
Hi Vicky. Sorry to come so late to this. I Loved this video. Have now bought this glass mat but had a quick question - do you know what isopropyl alcohol might be called in the uk please ? thanks for any help and a big thankyou for a great review - really helpful.
I would love to have this one, but I think that i would not be able to handle the screeching. I have sensitive teeth and any scratching noise of glass make me cringe so much. Is painful just to think in it. Is this mat "noisy" Vicky?
Gisi you can't hear anything because there is no scratching. Like sliding your finger or your phone. No need to get it but If you get a chance try it! It's great!
Hi Vicky! Thanks for the product review. I just purchased a new self-healing mat as mine was warped! I will be returning it because I actually have a glass mat already and just forgot about it! I would like to have the larger mat like you have though can't find it in the U.S. with inch measurements. Do you have a link for the Tonic inch mat in the larger size?
Hello from Norway! Thank for the review, I have been used mine for a couple of years now (from another company) and I love it! I use a window scraper, glass paint remover scrapers I believe is the name hihi works really god :) love your videos.
Thanks for the video Vicky. How do you convert money on Amazon and how much did they charge you for shipment? I am in Australia. I know shipping cost will be different.
Got my mat today and I love it! I wonder if spray inks, such as dylusions, will come off easily. Have your tried them yet? Or is it the same as your alcohol ink markers?
Hi Vicky... i needed an opinion.. We have now got these mats in India and I’m planning to buy one. But which one is better, this or the black one? It’d be great if you could guide.
Thank you for this product review, Vicky! I had wondered about the new craft mat you have been using lately. I value your opinion of the Tonic Studio mat and can certainly see many advantages over the self-healing mats. You mentioned tape runner tape is easily cleaned off which is great, but how advantageous it is to have a service where you can apply a low tack double sided tape just to temporarily secure a project piece while working on it, such as tiny little die cuts you wish to color? I can see a Tonic glass mat in my future!
I have used a Tonic glass mat for years, it is not as large as the one you have, I love it. As a matter of fact a few years ago when shopping out of state I found another one just like the one I am using, it was on clearance, so I bought it also. I wouldn't want to be without one. I have all of the other mats that are used in crafting and I need to gift them to someone else, they are never used any more in my craft area. Hugs

Vicky I have used a glass mat for the last 12 years and couldn't be without it. TFS
MORE than OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! Love your voice and accent. Excellent teacher. :):):)Thank you !!
I bought a glass mat, but I was hesitant to use it. This definitely helped me to decide to use it. Thank You, Vicky!
This was a very good review on the glass mats. I think I'll pull out the one I have had for years and never used because I didn't want to dull my cutting tools. Thanks so much.

As always, flawless demonstration!

Thank you Vicky....another item I need! It looks really fabulous. the only con was the green supports for the corners!
I was always scared to use a craft knife to cut on my glass mat, so this definitely makes me feel better! Thank you for taking the time to create this review.
Thanks for all the information. You answered all my questions plus some I didn’t know I needed answered. Very helpful

Thank you for your thorough review!! It covered everything I wondered about!
Excellent review thanks so very much, was particularly interested re using heat tool with it as it’s not clear elsewhere if this ok with this mat.

thank you for letting me know! I'll be very careful of ceramics!!
i guess it's kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to stream new series online ?
@Easton Jordan Flixportal xD
@Rudy Braylen thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it !
@Easton Jordan Happy to help =)

I love this mat. I will be looking for a supplier in Canada. Thanks for all of your tips and advice.
Thank you so much Vicky. That was a fabulous review!👏

What a helpful review! I think you answered all my questions -- I wondered about heat embossing!
And now I want one! 😝🤔 thanks for great review !
Will it really work with the adhesive eraser to remove tape? I just saw a video about the adhesive raser and they said it does not work on glass.
I always learn something great in your videos! Thank you!

Does this mat come with the markings in inches?

use a razor blade to scrape off the dry acrylic

Nice information ☺dear vicky
I just ordered my glass mat from amazon/UK it was much cheaper than amazon/USA
I have used a Tonic glass mat for years, it is not as large as the one you have, I love it. Good to know. Thanks, Marilynn!
Oh I love th u s...tfs
well, as impressive as this thing is, I just purchased a large self-healing mat and I have several non-stick craft mats, as well. But you TEMPT me! :)
Like it. To expensive.
Very helpful review, thanks.
