“Salvage something and Kitsch something.” Perfect! You are now officially my favorite person. LOL! Wonderful mat, can’t justify buying a new one just now but sometime... I wish the cotton candy paste was available - it looks transparent or translucent... any decent subs you know of? Thanks!
Hahaha.. I just go with it. Thanks so much for the grace! lol The Cotton Candy is so fun but could not find it anywhere. I tihnk if you have a pearl paste and then mix a little light pink ink in it might work. I'm going to have to try that
How do you film with a glass mat? I really love using one, but have a difficult time with the reflective surface. My camera is positioned directly over my craft surface and that always shows up, at a minimum 🤷🏻♀️ Any tip would be greatly appreciated!
Uhhhhh.....lol I don't anymore. :( Such a bummer. If you have your light sources coming from the sides of your mat you're good, but I don't have the head room for that so mine show up in the video.
I am glad you pointed out the cutting feature of this mat, Mary. I know the Tim Holtz mat will scratch if you cut anything on it, which I have always thought was odd. Why would one want a glass mat if s/he needed a separate cutting mat as well? Anyway.... I have a self-healing mat that I use most of the time, and an old We R Memory Keepers glass mat that I use mostly for doing intricate cutting with a craft knife, since the blade doesn't "stick" in the glass mat like the self-healing one. I also have an old, self-healing magnetic mat. I think it is also WRMK. I only replaced that one because the grid measurements are imperial on only the top & bottom. Both sides are metric. Just annoying to me, if I'm trying to line/center things up or do quick measurements. At any rate, I will kind of sadly pass on this mat. I just can't justify the cost simply to have only one do-it-all mat. But thank you for the review. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)
Andrea, I'm right there with you on not justifying the need for a new one. There will always be something new and shiny that comes out, so using what you have and just enjoying the fun of crafting is the most important
I have been using a white glass mat since the beginning and thought I would change it out for the new all the rage black one. Currently I have my old white one on top of the new black mat. Old habits die hard I guess 😁
If I have the lights coming from the sides it's all good, but right now they are right above so I cannot prevent that. If your project is big enough to cover it it might work.

I tried the We R Memory glass mat and it was shiny so my craft lamp reflected the bulb into my eye and it was annoying. I’d have to move to a certain angle to avoid the glare. Is it the same with this glass mat? I’m still searching for the perfect crafting surface.
Are you finding that there's a possibility for a lot of glare? My lights are to the right and left side of my mat, and often they show (in a not-so-pretty way) if I'm not careful.
Hey Alison, it will still have a glass mat glare if your lights are in the way of your video. Mine are on the side too and in this video, you can't see any glare. So as long as they are to the side enough, you should be great.
I would give for a white glass mat because I can't see on dark surfaces but I have a barely used TH glass mat so this will have to wait for a while. Fabulous tool but too costly for me. The size being demoed costs almost $100 and that doesn't include taxes (and shipping?). Unfortunately I'll have to put it on my wish list and maybe I'll get it in the future😢
It is a bit pricey compared to some other items. The quality is one of those "worth it" items for my frugal self. Although if you've seen my money savings videos, I don't recommend duplicate products; just finding what works for you is best.
Ok so I’m kinda surprised you recommended this. Usually you recommend cheap options and these are expensive. You can make any glass cutting mat magnetic by gluing a metal sheet underneath which is what this company did. The magnetic pawns are cheap on Amazon as well
Thank you for recommending this. I couldn't have duplicated the quality of the mat that I showed but I definitely like your idea and think it's a great alternative for someone looking for something like this.

Great review, Mary! Looks really useful. I can't buy it because I'm in crafty jail :(. I over shopped and it was a problem lol. It's happened to me before.
Hahaha...well you ARE a victim....a victim of your own desires. lol

I have a glass mat and I absolutely LOVE! it from we are memory keepers but I would love love love a bigger size! It's also not magnetic! Magnetic sounds like a dream! I did lots of paper crafting and also watercolour. My glass mat has been a game changer for me! I'm China go check out that website! 20% off is a great discount code! Love it! Thanks!
Thank you so much! I'm so happy you love yours too; this mat makes me happy!
Fabulous tool but too costly for me. The size being demoed costs almost $100 and that doesn't include taxes (and shipping?). Unfortunately I'll have to put it on my wish list and maybe I'll get it in the future😢
The one she's demoing is $79, if you want the magnetic back that bumps it up to $94.
I’m wondering why they changed from a lifetime warranty to a one year warranty
Great question; peculiar!
Have you or would you consider giving beginner card making lessons?
Hi there! In what capacity? Do you mean in person, online, a course for a cost?
@@marypolancodesigns On line at a cost or not, but a step by step guide to which materials for beginners and how to steps. Maybe you have a tutorial out there already. Mostly I think I need a guide to minimum materials and then how to use them. I always enjoy you videos. Wish I lived near you because I would beg you for in person lessons for sure!
