      Italian bureaucracy is the definition of hell.
      My grandpa sued the neighbor for removing a little bridge that united the house to the road. WELL … in the end grandpa won but it took 10 years! Insane.
      Good luck, you will need loads of patience.

    Just love your sense of humour, and dedication to those jobs where time goes awry, like when you start you think it won’t be too bad, then as you progress, time stands still and you think you’ll never finish then the finish does come and, after a while, you think, well, that wasn’t too bad.

    We missed your videos, great see you again! A short note: the reason why the fires are banned in winter is not for safety but for environmental reasons as in that time of the year the smoke usually stays in the atmosphere much longer and there is less „green“ on the trees etc. to process the fumes (sorry, I am not a native speaker, hope that makes sense ... 😉)

    • @VillaAroldi
      @VillaAroldi  4 місяці тому +2

      Thank you!
      Yes my neighbour told me the same, I just find it funny anyway, large uncontrolled fires in the summer must be worse than trapping a bit of smoke in the atmosphere 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @HannahMariaWhiteLight
      @HannahMariaWhiteLight 4 місяці тому +1

      @@VillaAroldi well, it seems like it’s not so much the smoke but the released CO2 that nature can’t handle well in winter 🤷‍♀️ I only got aware of that as we have strikter speed limits in Austria in winter than in summer on some highways for the same reason. But honestly, not sure about that whole CO2 narrative all together …

    • @VillaAroldi
      @VillaAroldi  4 місяці тому +2

      @@HannahMariaWhiteLight I really cant say, I wonder how much difference the co2 for a car is when doing 90 compared to 120, cant be much difference. I think they should look into all the cargo ships instead, that's the real problem.

    Awesome job on the brickwork. You mentioned re-pointing between the bricks, so it's my assumption is that you will keep the bricks unplastered and unpainted. If so, there is a fantastic product I used when I renovated my 200-year-old stone village house on Naxos Island in Greece. After months of removing old cement plaster, cleaning each rock, removing all the sand packing between the rocks, and re-pointing, I needed to prevent rainwater ingress into the rocks / pointing and protect the building. The product I used is Sikagard -700 S - a one-part water-repellent impregnation for absorbent cementitious substrates. It penetrates well into the open pores of the substrate, providing durable water repellency, while still allowing water vapour diffusion in both directions. Sikagard -700 S complies with the requirements of EN 1504-2 for hydrophobic Impregnation (penetration depth class I). Sikagard -700 S is used as a water-repellent and colourless protective surface treatment on absorbent exposed materials such as concrete, cementitious rendering, concrete tiles, fibre cement, brickwork (clay and lime sand, non-vitrified), and natural stone. Sikagard -700 S can also be used as a hydrophobic primer under solvent-based or emulsion protective coating. And no, I don't work for the company, it's just that the product is fantastic, the stone colour did not change, the product is super matt (not a varnish finish) and it works really well - 7 years now and my walls still repel water and look great. Happy renovating 🙂

    Soooo sorry for this delay!! I had a Bad feeling about the window company a long time ago as they didn’t seem to care about how their lapse in service and delivery was affecting your project!!
    I certainly hope you are able to not only get your windows , or if not, then get your money reimbursed With Interest, because of the costs in the waiting and how these delays affected your timeline! This company has cost you not only time but money in your project management!!! But!! I don’t know how it works in Italy and you both seem so Positive, kind and patient, that I know you’re going to be grateful to have the money returned, just so you can proceed with this restoration!!😅 It is a terrible situation for you and Anna to have to deal with this as you have made much progress in a short time and then were really on a roll until the reality of this company’s unethical business practices!! Hi I work in the province of chieti, and we do restorations, and if we have to remove the render and then jet wash the wall's, then we remove the cement between the bricks with 3 cutting disc's on a grinder, and when pointed wire brush it off before it gets too dry, hope this helps all the best 👍

    I was always told that the bricks have a fired finish that is important... if you grind or sandblast off the fired finish,the bricks will be prone to erosion. Often, old brick structures have fired bricks on the exterior finish and non-fired bricks on the interior of the wall. I hope you are not compromising the brick facade.❤
