We're working on our 1904 Edwardian duplex in SF & that is more than enough! I can't imagine the work a project like this one in Italy entails. Putting in 220 electric for the clothes dryers, multiple outlets for computers for the engineers who are working from home, replacing double paned windows (in the back of a schedule 2 house) that have lost their seals, is more than enough.

Its personal taste but I really love the apricot colour typical of so many period italian buildings. It is very characteristic. It glows in the evening and morning sun. I certainly wouldnt call it orange at all. It would be a keeper for me.
Unfortunately it's from the 1960's and painted in a plastic colour, many of these types houses where originally painted in this very light yellowy beige that I show on the other villa in the video, our's where also in this shade.
Your not alone I agree I liked these original there was character there. From base, trims, and designs.
I love the original yellow/beige. Great job at keeping it as much as original as you can ❤️

Many special thanks to you who have loved this place to the point of working so hard to save and refurbish it extensively. There are many houses like this in Italy which are beautiful but abandoned because they require too much work. So I think you have done something important and beautiful not just for youserlf but also for Italian heritage! Thank you very much.

I love to see old houses restored. I hope you plan to paint the exterior of the house the same beautiful color it was before you started restoring it.
We will absolutely paint it but not in the old orange as it's not the original colour.

@@thehungrygoldfishI can understand leaks and dumps since I’m an engineer/architect. But when you’re supposed to renovate a house the least you could do is preserve. I know it would take a great amount of time and resources. But still. Rather than restaurating, this feels more like adapting a perfectly preserved, 100 yo Italian jewel into an American standard of living. Which I’m assuming they even bought for nothing. So the least they could do is preserve the historical and architectural value.
@@oblivionzzzmike Ok but how are they suppose to preserve tile if it needs to be replaced structurally, like it literally can’t stay there.
I don’t think bathroom was originally pink. I think that happened as part of a 1950s redo. Not a tragic loss.

I was absolutely screaming to myself when i saw those beautiful wine barrels go - what could be more in keeping with an Italian Villa. My son lives in Italy with his Italian wife - she would have had a heart attack if she had watched it all/
Yes but we kept one of them, we have plans for the basement and can't keep them all but for one of them we do have some plans down there.

I miss the beautiful terra cotta color of the outside. It was so Italian!
I think it looked a lot better on pictures than in real life, and it was a plastic colour from the 1960s, it will be better once the house is painted. 🙏🏼

I also live in Italy they seem to love that orange colour.i dislike .good choice to get rid of it

Terracotta colour on the outside is authentic and really beautiful. Hope you painted back same colour .
Well, we are going to paint the house but not in that Terracotta as it's not the original colour but something they did in the 1960's.
Gooddammmn that's one labour of love. I rennovated my house somewhat extensively and it almost gave me a burnout, and it wasn't anywhere near this. I tip my hats to you... That's one rough process no doubt.
