@@station2station544 i don't remember. To much time ago and the OB6 was not mine. But the mod matrix of OB6 is quite simple.

I really like a lot of these patches. The OB-6 is great. Even though it's a synth, it has an amazingly natural sound.

@@hayeye i got rid of my ok synths and 3 synths turned into one good one that blows them all away. You just need to clean house and downsize

very nice patches, good work. problem is ...it doeasnt sound like an obx or oba.....glad i kept one. i will wait for the behringer copy....I like sequential pro 3 though.

Wow! I am currently on the fence between the OB6 vs the Prophet range. For a moment it seemed the OB6 is more of a "one-trick pony" (albeit an enormously good trick) than the Prophets, in that is mostly seems to lend itself to Oberheim-eske lush pads, strings and brasses. You've demonstrated that it's capable of much more experimental stuff than what most standard demos showcase and that's really important to me. Thanks man.
Still in doubt though, as I'd really like to make it my main synth so it should be quite versatile.

Yes, OB6 (and P6 too..) can do more than we expect from it features. They can't do all but they are easy and fun machines for me.
I'd like to add on to the idea that it is a one trick pony for i just got one last month! It does feel that way but it is just SO powerful at what it does it really makes the decision between it and p6 just that more difficult! If I could do it again I would choose the ob6 everytime though!😎

Bloody hell that was incredible!!! Bravo signore! Really beautiful sounds and sequencing. Especially the very opening sounds and the almost modular sounds from 11 mins onwards. Excellent...Now where did I put my $3500... :(

I have a Prophet 6 and I really would like to know if getting an OB6 is worth it. How different are they in terms of features/modulations/capabilities? Not so much in terms of sound but is it essentially the same synth but just SEM based?
i think P6 and OB6 sound different. Filters are not the same. Only oscillators seems to be the same.
Oh I know the Filter sounds different but other than that?
you have two different timbres but similar features in this 2 synths. P6 is aggressive than OB6. OB6 is not suitable for percussive sounds for instsance but is fantastic for pads and strange things too if you want.

what do you think about it ? can you get the vco's to sound very clean without any overdrive like on the Prophet6 ?
a nice synth for me. My favourite is still the Prophet 6 (more agressive for me) but OB6 is also so fun to play and to discover new sounds.

thanks Daniel. Sorry but i really don't remember the perfect patching i've done (I had it in a loan just for fiew days..sig) but for shure there is the X-Mod.
I've downloaded the file but I couldn't figure out how to upload them to the OB6, the manual also hasnt got that information. I have the soundtower editor but this doesn't uploads midi files. How do I load the banks into the keyboard?
sorry, you can upload the pathces on the synth using Snoyze sysex librarian. I don't know if on Soundtower you can import sysex files.

I don't know well how house music do sounds but OB6 have not a auto oscillation on filter. I think P6 can be better.
I chose the OB6. for a prophet type sound you can get a Rev 2 for much less. I had the Proph 6 for a short time but the OB6 is soooo fat and rich. I sent the proph 6 back.
Is it just me, or should the LEDs on this synth be green/blue? You know, to match the old look of the Xpander/Matrix-12, and compliment the blue lines on the panels?
this synth is it not an old Oberheim. It looks and sounds as a 2K years synth must be for my opinion :)

I bought it when nobody want more one but my best are still the EMU IV series.
Default Corporation cool man. I had a few of the later models. I believe a 3000 model and the 6000XL. Also had en E64 emulator but nowadays it's all software. much easier to edit 😃

@default corporation, I'm really curious about the patch that starts at 10:18. Can you describe some of what's going on there. random lfo the the x-mod to quite a number of parameters? if you can be specific, I'd really appreciate it.

Sorry I had this OB6 just for fiew days and i really don't remember how i've done the patches. I don't whant to say wrong about it but you can download most of this presets i've done on file section in synth cafè group in Facebook. If you upload it, you can then visualize (by the dot in the display) the correct position of the knobs.
Any chance you could add a link to thpreset location?

hi, You can download the patches in file section in "Synth Cafè" Facebook group. The patch you say however is "played" live.

I was looking for the patches on Synth Cafe Group on Facebook, but I was unable to find them. On account of the facebook page not loading after a certain point. I'm finding trying to load passed a few days aren't loading. so if you are able to link it, that would be great. As I will not be obtaining my synth for a little while yet.

I have this synth and I like it better that the Proph 6. Just more bandwith? If that makes sense. I couple this with the Prophet Rev2 and I get all the DSI I need.

JD-XA sounds much better than this and costs way less (and does way more). Not a knock on the video but by god DSI can NOT make a musical sounding synth to save their lives. How can you guys not hear how unmusical/harsh their synths are? Well whatever floats your boat but the JD-XA can get close to much of the OB6 (and even P6) sounds and then surpass them too, yes even as just a DCO synth with 4 voices. And sounds way nicer doing it, 2-3 LFOs on the XA also, what year is this again?

I got an idea quarky. DON'T BUY ONE. AND, never go to club where a band is using one, AND never listen to a recording where a DSI instrument is used, AND never involve yourself in a conversation where DSI is brought up - like this one. AND don't shellfish or drive after 8 o'clock at night with the passenger window cracked. AND, now that you have stopped taking your medication, call your probation officer. AND call your mom. I am sure she will really love to hear from you.
