Hi everyone, this video will hopefully give you a bit of a sense of the prices in Switzerland 🇨🇭. It’s definitely not a cheap country to travel to or live in but the beauty of the country makes up for the cost of living. I hope you find the video useful. Please like, comment and subscribe 💚👍
I loved Zermatt. I was there in 2018 June. Love to visit again. It's expensive, but worth every penny. Better to buy travel pass for unlimited access for getting around. Doing own cooking, cheapest way there.
Thanks Janus for this video! it was very helpfull. I thought the Netherlands was expensive.... We are planning to visit Swiss in 2021. Thanks for this upload!
Thank you William The Netherlands are quite inexpensive compared to Switzerland. You may also be interested in my other videos and vlogs on 🇨🇭, including the one on money saving tips
Thank you for watching. I’m sure you had a great trip there. I loved my travel to Switzerland and have put together a whole series of videos. I hope you enjoy 👍🌺
I enjoyed your money saving tips. When I was there, some of us from the tour would go to a grocery store and buy fruit bars and granola bars as on the tour, our breakfast was included so we ate well and then for lunch a couple of granola bars or something would be all we needed until we ate dinner in the evening. Also while travelling on a bus a person can tend to feel bloated if you eat a big meal for lunch and with just a light snack instead, you can avoid that feeling.
Yes, it's really quite international, lots of tourists from all over Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America and the US. You can also find some Japanese restaurants here and there...
Zermatt is more of a hotspot for Japanese tourists, hence the Japanese. While Lucerne on the other hand is a hotspot for Chinese tourists, so almost everything in the touristy parts is also in Chinese.
Living or especially traveling in Suisse must prepare your options in groceries..always. You could avoid expensive or hi-end supermarché like Migros Coop etc. Look for Lndl if you want to save 20-30%. They've won best price for consecutive years. Thanx for sharing Janus.
Switzerland is no doubt VERY expensive:( As I didn't find such a content from swiss youtuber self, I'm glad you made this useful video 👍 I've watched your another video about saving money during traveling in Switzerland too. Thank you very much!
Zermatt is also for Swiss people more expensive than other places. Any place where they have to bring the stuff up to the mountains. Also the main supermarkets Coop and Migros often have still premium prices. Try to find an Aldi or Lidl instead. As a Swiss I am also shocked at some prices in Porto Cervo, London, etc. Now if a Swiss is shocked, it is really expensive ; )
Thank you very much. Stay tuned for a video I'm planning to do on souvenirs from Switzerland. It won't be on watches exclusively but will have some in there.
That’s so true Fabian. Zermatt is really on another level. The prices I cover are however from other places in Switzerland too. Still expensive but not quite as extreme 😅👍
Thank you for watching bhbfan. Yes, I found the grocery and food prices more expensive than in the US while in many European countries they seem less expensive
Very enlightening video, a heads up for all of us to plan our trip n budget wisely in future. Indeed, some of the similar brand items cost comparatively double or even triple than here in SG but as u mentioned the beauty of the country makes up for it all💫🏔✨🏔
Nisha San That’s true! Singapore grocery prices are off the charts! You may actually find Switzerland comparatively cheap when it comes to buying food. But the restaurants in SG are much cheaper than in Switzerland 😊
I will be travelling to Switzerland this year for 2 weeks, definitely gonna bring my own food, use a car and camp all the time. Do you know the camping prices in Switzerland? Grindelwald and in the Valais canton, 2 person and car. And how much is car parking? Like in the cities Bern, Lucerne, villages around Interlaken etc. and mountain valleys.
Thank you for watching Rok. I didn’t do any camping but you will probably have to calculate around CHF40 per night, give or take. Car parking depends a lot on where you leave your car. Like Zermatt/Taesch for example is quite expensive (CHF16) per day. Wishing you a great trip and feel free to also check out my other videos on 🇨🇭.
The Swiss earn in Swiss Francs and so I think it’s not as bad for them. But I was told that people that live close to the borders still tend to buy things outside Switzerland since it’s generally way cheaper
Some stores have some limited options but I don’t think they’re much cheaper. If you want to save money, i recommend you get your groceries at Aldi and take them for a nice picnic in the country side.
Love groceries part the most. I can watch it all day and never get boring. LOL Thanks for uploaded this video, it's really helpful for budget planning. One day I will go there for sure :)
Put like for the video then watch 😍, salam from arabia ✋, for all doctors, nurses, hospitals staff and volunteers who are fighting this war against coronavirus, respect from the world✋🤲🌍💐

I fully agree. Lidl and Aldi have the most reasonable prices for groceries in Switzerland 👍
I agree. Migros and Coop are the expensive store.

Grocery prices look similar to Canada with the exchange rate. Would love to visit.
Sure? How about meat and Cheese, which is super expensive here. Assume meat is way cheaper in Canada...
Swotcherland is too expensive for other people like us in europe, but what about people who live there?
The Swiss earn in Swiss Francs and so I think it’s not as bad for them. But I was told that people that live close to the borders still tend to buy things outside Switzerland since it’s generally way cheaper
Thanks for your efforts. but it’s expensive
I agree Mahmoud, it’s not a cheap country to visit unfortunately. But there are a few tips to get some savings. See my separate video on that 👍😊
We heard that you can dine in grocery stores is Switzerland for a cheap option. Is that true?
Some stores have some limited options but I don’t think they’re much cheaper. If you want to save money, i recommend you get your groceries at Aldi and take them for a nice picnic in the country side.
Prices are very similar here in Dubai
That is interesting. I found the prices in Switzerland much higher compared to its neighbors in Austria, Germany, France and Italy
@@januslog That's normal. The Salary is much higher in Switzerland.
@@sagittariusa9012 I agree, if you make a living in CHF then it’s less of an issue
Love groceries part the most.
I can watch it all day and never get boring. LOL
Thanks for uploaded this video, it's really helpful for budget planning.
One day I will go there for sure :)
Haha, thank you, I’m glad you enjoy and find these useful 👍😊

Can I move to Switzerland with you 😩😩
