Hi everyone, I hope you’re having a good week. Welcome to my walk between those two beautiful car-free villages. Stay tuned for my visit of Gimmelwald which I will post next week. Stay well and safe 👍💚
I am addicted to your video I am planning to visit this year , while ur walking and filming which camera do u used the most M50 or Go pro.. I am unable to figure out when u changed the camera
I just love the fact that you can walk from Murren to Gimmelwald in about 30 min. or so! What a beautiful walk would be just right for us older folks! Thank you for bringing all this to us! I would be wanting now to move to Murren and have a chalet as high up I could go! Lol! Cows and sheep couple of alpacas too! Learning to yodeling for my new Swiss friends! So beautiful! Thanks again! God Bless, Jan from Arizona
We finally just completed last week our long awaited first ever 2 week trip to Switzerland. We did this walk from Murren to Gimmelwald and the views were just amazing and I felt this walk was better than the 8 hour long Glacier Express train that was more hype and pricey. At the end of this walk we picked up the special locally brewed beer from the Honesty self service shop. Absolutely great easy walk that no one should miss. BTW, while being in that trail i came across a suspension bridge between 2 mountains and very much wanted to do it and didn't know how to get there. I visited the Aare Gorge i learned about watching your video 2/3 years back. Some of your videos were very helpful in planning my trip. I miss the beautiful Swiss country and wish could settle down there and unfortunately no easy way for non EU folks. If I had a chance I would do this walk every day than the sweltering heat in Texas. Will definitely visit again in the next 2 years.
That’s amazing! It sounds like you had a fantastic trip. It’s such a beautiful place! I’m also glad you found the videos helpful for your planning. Stay tuned for more travel inspiration on my channel 👍🌺
Just thought I'd drop in here to say I came across this video randomly a year or two ago and was so struck by the beauty of this place that I couldn't stop thinking about it and have been planning a trip in my dreams every since. And now, after so much of that planning, I am finally off to experience the Jungfrau region next week and will absolutely be stopping in Murren. Thank you for posting because I'm not sure if I ever would have discovered this place without it
Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the most beautiful valleys in the world, if not the most beautiful at all, as well as the villages around it beautiful and quiet ... Thank you Mr. Janus
This is really best place for hiking, fresh air and amazing sceneries and also can take pictures as much as you like. That's what i like to do most for traveling !
Thank you very much Luca. Yes, I’m still experimenting with different formats. I confess I really enjoy selecting the music for my videos but there will be a number of videos with no music coming up as well 👍😊
Hi I enjoyed watching your video. I’ll be in Switzerland in August, planning to go to Shilthorhorn , then stopping by Murren, then to Gimmelwald on my way back to Wengen which is our home base for 3 nights. This hike is Amazing. Thank you for sharing. Best, Cora
It’s so tranquil, especially when you hear the cowbells and the leaves rustling in the wind. Thank you for sharing! I hope to walk this myself someday.
Thank you Janus, we did this walk in July 2017 and it was magical. A cat met us upon entry into Gimmelwald. We are endeavouring to do it again when travel opens up. You made a fantastic video. Keep safe.
Thank you Josie, I'm glad you enjoyed the video and it brought back some nice memories. This walk is so much fun! I hope I will get to go again soon too
Was so engrossed watching this video, didn’t realised it was reaching towards its tail end. MasyaAllah, I don’t mind walking for miles esp when the view is so truly breathtaking. Thanks for bringing us there, Janus!
Yes, this is a short and beautiful hike. Just make sure you do it in the same direction as some passages are a bit steeper and it’s definitely more fun to go downhill 😅
Wow so pleased I, stumbled across your channel! Absolutely gorgeous Switzerland walking vlog....it SO. beautiful and will give us ideas for when we can travel again. 💜💜💜🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Great walk! Virtually joined you from my breakfast table here in Vermont. I tried following you on Google Maps - did you go along Gehren / Lussi / Balmen? Also, what’s your trick of working with the Weather Gods to get such great weather for your video productions??? Keep the great videos coming!
Thank you Matthew, yes, that’s exactly the route I took. It’s a lovely short walk and the views are just great! On the weather, I was very picky haha. I had scheduled the trip for an earlier time and changed after watching the weather forecast. Visiting this part of Switzerland during nice weather makes a huge difference 😊
Superlike , another nice video. Sir how you given side to that big vehicle on small road ? another thing i never found any villagers roaming outside in swiss vilages in any videos.
The vehicle actually looked larger than it was. They use some sort of mini-sized trucks to be able to go through the narrow streets up there 😊 There are quite a few locals but most of them are working
You can either take the cable car and train to Mürren and from Mürren you can walk down to Gimmelwald or take the cable car down. Or you take the bus to Stechelberg and take the cable car up to Gimmelwald.
Hi You can take a train to Interlaken and from there, take a local train or bus to Lauterbrunnen. From Lauterbrunnen, you take a gondola to another mountain train that takes you to Muerren. Check out my video on Muerren for morec details 😊
I walked that very road 1972. It hasn't changed a bit. I hope to return one day. Thank you for making it possible to show my family and friends what I've experienced in my youth. (I didn't own a camera...)
@@januslog oh thank you so much for your quick response! is it possible to walk from Schtechelberg to Gimmelwald? is there any way? because we are two and cable car is over 100€ for each person. it's expensive for us actually :(
@@allazeyaey4847 yes, there’s a walkway. It will take you about 1hr to walk there but I’m sure it’s beautiful. If you plan to stay in the area for a couple of days, there are some reduced tickets for public transportation. My video on Lauterbrunnen has more details. Safe travels
I think that you are the SMART one--walking downhill--I am not sure that I would want to walk the uphill route...I hope that you can take a bus back...dts
Haha, yes I was glad I did it in this direction. There are no buses since it’s a car-free village but you can take a cable car back up. I’m showing the ride at the end of my Gimmelwald video 👍😊

when was this? were planning to go this June and thinking if we can expect this kind of views as well?
I went in August but the weather is very unpredictable in the mountains. June can be a nice month too

Is there a specific name of this hike or if I map Murrento Gimmelwald it I’ll be ok? I’m finally going in just under 3 weeks
Yes, I don’t think there’s a specific name but it’s quite easy to find when you’re leaving Muerren towards Gimmelwald
I've always heard about the reputation of Switzerland. Now I understand O.O
Thank you for watching Miu. Yes, it’s quite a special country. Their nature is breathtaking 🇨🇭👍
Thanks ♥️
Thank you for watching Bulent 🌺
If i would have gone to visit gimmelwald by cabel car from lauterbrunnen, then can i get down at murren? Or it's direct route, no one can get down.
You can either take the cable car and train to Mürren and from Mürren you can walk down to Gimmelwald or take the cable car down. Or you take the bus to Stechelberg and take the cable car up to Gimmelwald.
Does this beautiful trail will be ready in 1st week of June? Any idea?
It’s open all year round 👍😊
I will be here last week in April. Do you think it will be this green??
It will be green but you’ll have a good chance of rain. But the weather is really unpredictable in the mountains
Hi Sir - how is the transportation from Geneva to Murren? I will travel solo and bring a mid-size suitcase and a camera backpack. Thank you.
Hi
You can take a train to Interlaken and from there, take a local train or bus to Lauterbrunnen.

What time of year was taking?
This was recorded in summer. Interestingly, August is the month with the most rainy days there. Seems like May-June are better in terms of weather.
How many km. have to walk from Murren to Gimmelwald?
😍😍😍😍😍
Thank you Sila 🏔🌻
Hello. could you please tell me if we can drive to Mürren and then walk to Gimmelwald? is Mürren also car free village?
Hi Alla, Muerren is a car-free village and you can only get there via cable car from Stechelberg or via cable car and train from Lauterbrunnen.

It is at least 15 km apart, how do you suggest it only takes 30 minutes to walk.
I’m not sure. Doesn’t feel that far. I didn’t walk longer than 1/2hr. Maybe 40 minutes max (downhill 😊)
I want... 🥰
