I really appreciate that you took the time to do a wear test and were so open/honest when your opinion changed about an item! This is the first clothing review I’ve watched that has ever done a wash test too, in all my years of following fashion channels. Really thorough, excellent review.
I love Quince, it’s one of my favorite brands. I also shop at Banana Republic (not the Factory line), Theory, Lily Silk, Equipment, M.M. la Fleur and Sezane. There are a few UK brands I like too. I’m in the US and the tariffs charged when buying from overseas brands push the costs up. I can’t wear synthetic fabrics, even in blends, so I need to shop at brands that make 100% natural-fiber fabrics and materials (like genuine leather). This makes everything a lot more expensive than if I could shop at low-quality brands like H&M (which has great styles and prices, but inferior, plastic, fabrics). I bought a whole new wardrobe over the last year, shopping for each current season as they rolled around, for the best selection. I lost 50 lbs. over the last decade or so and just couldn’t put it off any longer, everything was falling off, even jackets. Fortunately, I could finally afford it, but naturally I didn’t want to spend more than I had to. So, Quince was my first stop. I think its balance of high-quality natural-fiber/material items, reasonable prices and big selection are just great. I have bought dozens of items there over the years, including silk, cashmere and leather and have been happy with all of them. The sizing is generous, I often size down one size, especially in tops and sweaters. Thanks for your review.
Everything you wrote here. I’ve been through much of the same including the weight loss, and I’m totally rebuilding my wardrobe. Plus, it’s on the purchaser to look at the size charts.
Wow, this content is incredible! 🌟 I love how Next Level Wardrobe has captured the essence of luxury/fashion in such an engaging way! I’m sure your audience loves it as well. 😊
I received a leather jacket from them today. Fabulous! It is so beautiful for the price. I did not expect it to be the same quality of a designer, with the price it was, but it is very much more than I did expect. My first quince piece, but not my last
Thanks Cassandra, that was really helpful. I've been seeing Quince all over my social media and wondering about them. Your honest review helped me realize that's not the kind of clothing I want in my wardrobe. Can you consider doing a review of Modern Citizen?
I have Quince cashmere sweaters and cardigans and they are fantastic. I ordered silk dress and they look like nighties to me (had to return) but silk skirt with elastic band that was looking great Quince has a great return policy and I would say that you can order and see them in person than decide!
Thanks for the review! But I think this coverage would be more comprehensive if you showed their best sellers, which are their cashmere sweaters. Yes, I agree that their pants and linen items are just so-so, but their cashmere sweaters are great and feel the same as my J. Crew and other higher priced ones. And yes, to keep the prices down, they do lack original designs, but if you just want some basic and good quality items at a reasonable price, Quince is the brand for you! I have bought 6 cashmere sweaters, one silk shirt dress, one silk maxi skirt and a number of linen shorts and wide-leg pants, and they all have been great, especially the cashmere and silk pieces though I have to admit, the silk shirt you bought seems to be just okay. I bought their linen pants and shorts mainly because they are cheaper than other brands but still are of decent quality. Linen wrinkles easily and are thin anyway. I’d rather pay $30-$50 than over $80 elsewhere.
I am very surprised on you saying that the silk feels cheap. I have the skirt and the dress and they both fall and look gorgeous and expensive. Got crazy compliments also from other people. It washed perfectly well. I also have the linen pants, they loosen as all linen does with wear, and never felt itchy or scratchy (I am extremely sensitive to fabrics and never had an issue). Most linen pants have only one layer of fabric (they are meant to be breathable), a slight sheerness is to be expected. I have the brown and never felt they’re too sheer. They mention European linen because it’s considered the highest quality linen. The one thing that does bother me is the elastic which moves around too much. As a general rule I have had veeery good experiences with what I bought from Quince.
Just bought a whole bunch of cashmere sweaters from them because I go back and forth between the US and Scotland. Wanted something nice that I can just leave there and not have to lug suitcases around. So far I have been impressed with the quality. Haven’t washed them, though. I always take cashmere to the cleaners.
I used to wash everything on cold and follow “bossy” care labels (as Laundry Love author Patrick Richardson would say who I also learned about in your emails) now I follow Patrick’s directions. He mentions you can wash most things on warm. I was on the fence about quince I may try some of their pieces
I actually bought the same sweater. Washed it inside a bag in delicate cycle and laid it flat to dry. It didn’t shrink. I didn’t even read the instructions. Thanks for the review
This is a great video! Thank you for the honest review including wash test - not something I have ever seen anyone do before, but clearly very important. Also, so with you on never putting knits in the dryer, regardless of if the care label says you can 🙃
Would you share your opinions on Uniqlo as they open more stores this year? First time watching your video, would love hear your recommendations for day-to-day basics in the same or 20% higher price range as Quince.
Thank you for sharing this. You have no idea how helpful it was, I just ordered some stuff from them and I was on the fence about keeping a few items and this helped me decide
Yes, the cashmere!!! I was excited first because I thought she was going to review the fisherman crewneck in cashmere but then I saw it was just the cotton one. Bummer.
I love their silk skirts so much that I have them in almost every color. I think they’re gorgeous and comfortable. The silk is on the thinner side, but the price is unbelievably low for genuine mulberry silk. I hope this helps.🙂
Thanks for this vid! I ordered drawstring linen pants and during the first wash, some waistband thread unraveled and tangled itself into the drawstring. I’d never seen that, even from cheap Marshall’s linen pants. Quince asked for a photo and quickly refunded. Super unimpressed with a silk item I purchased as well. It felt cheap. It makes me side-eye all the podcasters who rave about the products in their ads.
I love Quince! I have 9 or 10 of their Linen dresses in different cuts which I live in Summer and all year long. I have their cashmere and cotton sweaters. I returned a few. I never liked their pants. You have to know a good cut and material. Their return policy is amazing. Everything has lasted me for years now. I also have a lot of clothes from Sezane and a few from Uniqlo. I only buy and use natural fibers because of my many allergies. I'm glad Quince offers natural fibers at a reasonable price.
Mine pilled a lot to the point that I don’t want to wear it - and to clarify - I did try to work with it with a sweater comb and even lightly with a shaver although the weight of them is such that I felt better using the comb on it. It was just more work than my other cashmere pieces (which I also maintain) - and this is all just my opinion. I'd pass on the cashmere from them.
I have 3 cashmere sweaters from them and love them! They are comparable to my J. Crew cashmere quality. And yes, all cashmere pills, even my $150-$200 ones. You do need to maintain them. Their silk dresses are skirts are amazing too. But their style is pretty generic. You need basics, this is a good place to shop.
Advice from Southern lady: after washing, place in dryer low heat 2-3 minutes, hang, smooth fabric with hands. After drying, touch up collar/hem if needed with iron. DO NOT IRON ENTIRE GARMENT. This will make fabric have deep wrinkles when you sit and as you move. Steam if you must, but linen is meant to have a rumpled appearance. Fabric softens and wrinkles less with additional washing. Linen improves with age-very comfortable.
So I always have trouble with the armholes on tank tops. A lot of them have huge armholes that show so much of your bra. I think I'm on the petite side, so maybe that's why.
I love my Mongolian Cashmere sweaters…have 5 thus far…hand wash and dry flat. I have a silk skirt I haven’t washed yet but I’m tempted to get a silk blouse.
I agree. Quince is fast fashion. I’m glad you pointed this out. Doesn’t mean they have all bad pieces, but people need to understand what they’re actually buying.
Thank you, Cassandra! I recently just purchased my first Quince item for a birthday present, otherwise I stayed away from them this long and will continue to do so based on your reviews. Would love more reviews like this! It’s helpful to have someone as informed as you amongst all the paid content we see on clothing.
Love their classic crew-neck snd V-neck cashmere sweaters! They are comparable to my J. Crew ones. One thing to note, all cashmere pills over time. Even my more expensive ones.
100% linen and 100% cotton shrinks. Why would you think otherwise? My understanding of Quince is that is a throwback to when you could find what they are offering at department stores when said stores carried natural fiber clothing. Its not really luxury its basic simple designs for every day wear. Basically targeting your average middle class consumer. If you shop around you can find items as good or better at the same price point. Their items are nice, but not special.
Cotton shrinks up to 15% if tumble-dried. Linen has minimal shrinkage, linen items might shrink a bit in length if tumble-dried, but they stretch back out.
I ordered a few things and returned all of them except for a cardigan in 100% cotton that I actually am really loving right now. I do not put almost any of my clothes in a dryer lol. I just got a few pieces from Sezane and I’d be curious on your thoughts.
This was such a useful watch. I have a lot of those same pieces and found they were great at first but I don't reach for any of them after a few washes, except the oversized white linen shirt. Love their linen bedding though! Can't wait to watch more reviews from you.
I recently returned to the workforce and I’ve been following NLW. I bought a handful of Quince items this summer with an eye toward short term vs long term goals. I bought the pants and dress in this review, plus a tee and your assessment is spot on. The tee was not worth it. The dress and pants fit me fine but I think of them as replaceable, especially because they had a role in my outfit rotation. For wardrobe basics they did all right but my plan is to up the quality as I build back a professional wardrobe. I don’t regret my purchase, but I agree with your comments.
It took a permanent piece out of my soul to watch someone put a sweater in a washer with an agitator and then it drained my last bit of life force to put it in the tumble dryer 😭 I may never knit again. Kidding aside, I found the barrel pants and the ponte pants from Quince to be quite nice but was disappointed at how thin and clingy the scoop neck T-shirt was and how scratchy the wool/alpaca sweater was.
I feel like the biggest selling point for quince is that the majority of the items are made from natural fibers which alone is worth it. I disagree with you, they are not fast fashion. Also, linen is supposed to be single layer like that to keep you cool. I’m surprised you come from a fashion background with your lack of knowledge on natural fibers and cut and style of clothes.
Thank you for this. I thought it was too good to be true. There is no such thing as inexpensive clothing. It is just cheap, fast fashion that fills up the landfills when they don't last. Not helping the planet. Although body changes are a big thing in my life so I am torn.
Their cashmere pieces are great! Comparable to J. Crew ones. Just know that Quince is good for basic items. If you are looking for more unique and innovative designs, this is not the brand. This is where they cut costs.
I really appreciate that you took the time to do a wear test and were so open/honest when your opinion changed about an item! This is the first clothing review I’ve watched that has ever done a wash test too, in all my years of following fashion channels. Really thorough, excellent review.

I’ve had my Quince silks, cashmere and cottons for years and all are still beautiful. As with anything else I care for them properly.
That's good to hear. You are definitely an exception-- most people don't take the time to care for their clothing properly.
