    I like that we have so much variety to choose everything or anything from food, clothes, music, religion, hairstyles …it’s endless. It’s probably why people in other countries are annoyed by our tendency to want or expect everything.

      Very true! I’ve heard a lot of people in other counties say our variety of things is problematic; but I enjoy it too!

    Your skin is INSANE! GLOWING x
    When I left America (a long while back) I'd forget I wasn't in the US & moments later would realise I was in my new adopted country.
    Then when I ended up moving back to the States, it was reversed whereas I'd think I was still in my adopted country, when I was in USA.
    Ever had this phenomenon happen whilst living in other countries?
    There really is nothing like traveling abroad. I'd love to go to South America; Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, many others.
    For now, I'll live precariously through you're extensive travels.
    x

      YES! I’d wake up and forget I wasn’t in the US all the time! It took years for that to stop happening in China. 😂
      Oddly enough it hasn’t happened in reverse now that I’m back in the states. 🤔 hmmm…wonder what that means!
      Thanks so much about my skin! 🥰 I’m enjoying being stationary for now but we’ll get back to the travels soon! 💚

    Yea, never thought I’d miss small talk! I came back to China 6 months ago (I was here about 27 years ago)and I am shocked by how sad I get when grocery store workers and random strangers don’t attempt any pleasantries whatsoever. Another positive thing about the US is that: people are more direct, more honest. You don’t have to live for other people or worry about shaming your family (I guess unless you are part of the ruling elite, but even then you just pay off the media) Anyway, lLove your videos! Keep it up!!

      Yes!! I thought the same thing! In Colombia people are also chatty so I didn’t miss it until I moved to China. Then it was jarring when I first got back the states 😂
      My British friends often say how they appreciate the directness here. Me too, let’s not waste time lol

      that just means you can't speak mandarin and don't really have chinese friends because that isn't true. Aunties and uncles give me advice and talk to me when i'm shopping in the markets. Workers are different, they aren't there to fake socialize, they are required to focus on their job and public relations isn't on their job description. Shaming family isn't really a thing unless you're in jail or did something socially unacceptable that everybody found out , so that sounds like you don't have close chinese friends because you can't speak the language. People in china are the most brutally honest and direct people on planet Earth, Americans on the other hand are the most repressed and self-limiting people. Anything can be considered "rude" or insensitive, sexist, racist, xxxphobic, nobody says what's on their mind because everything is not socially acceptable. Learn mandarin and integrate into society then your social life will improve 100%.

      that just tells me you can't speak mandarin and don't have chinese friends. They are the most no-filter direct people on earth. No worries about political correctness or hold back for fear of being cancelled. You just need to learn mandarin and get out of the expat bubble. Everything you said tells me you don't socialize with locals.

    When I visit family for holidays next month I'm taking the train to the street where I can get a burrito the size of my forearm for $8 and then walk 10 minutes to get legal edibles. And really I can only complain so much after that.

    Bad Bunny baby!!!! 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷❤I’m so sorry that video got so many negative comments! 😢 Some people just hear what they wanna hear and don’t listen! As for my favorite thing about the US, it’s the upward mobility! Anyone can come from anywhere and find a way to make it without limitations. It’s definitely easier for some people than others, but the opportunity is there to be whatever you want to be. Yes, there are complications and some people get chutes while others get ladders, but the opportunity is there! ❤

    • @Thejesstination
      @Thejesstination  7 місяців тому +1

      Democracy only applies to the wealthy and/or well connected in the United States. I’m neither so it’s not on my list. I felt more freedom when I lived in Colombia and China than I feel in the US.

    But Bad Bunny is American since he is from Puerto Rico a US territory as many other musical artist that eventually make their way to Miami. USA has the most viewed UA-cam video as well "Despacito"
    USA dominates both English & Spanish Speaking worlds
    From English (New Englander historic culture )
    Spanish being the oldest language of the California Government (Californios original Spanish speaking population and all the major cities in California being in Spanish due to the Californios that lived under both spain and mexico rule) (Also don't forget the Tejanos of Texas, Nuevo Mexicanos of New Mexico, Floridanos smallest of the group, and the Puertorriqueños of Puerto Rico)
    Viva San José, California⭐Miami⭐Los Ángeles
    San Gabriel Valley, California (Has all three: Spanish since 1510 & English since 1850 obvisouly but also Mandarin)
    Look up story of Calafia where California gets it name from the arabic word caliphate of a African queen story who ruled California. Moors an islamic kingdom from Africa that ruled spain for 500+ years gave Spanish its 8% arabic for context.
    Overall great video 10/10 keep up the good work :)

    • @Thejesstination
      @Thejesstination  Рік тому

      Yeah Bad Bunny isn’t the best example for that reason, however in main stream pop music, he’s the first artist to perform in only Spanish and still dominate US charts. The majority of the continental US does not speak or understand Spanish (although that is rapidly changing), that’s why he came to mind in this video.
