I'm 59 and have never felt better! I started lifting weights three times a week, getting as many steps in as possible, eating enough protein, cutting sugar, and processed foods, eleven months with zero alcohol and my body feels and looks amazing. I've learned so much from your show. ❤

I'm 62 and just got dumped by my GF of 10+ years. So far I'm down 40 pounds and hitting the gym 4-5 days a week. I listen to you guys for inspiration and tips to get back in shape.

As a 63 year old, you guys have helped me become way stronger than when I was 33. My biggest obstacle as i've gotten older is that injuries take forever to heal now. What once took a few days now takes weeks. I also need to constantly remind myself to be smart in the lifting and not be ego driven. Great work guys

I've been a cardio queen all my life, even when I was a trainer I would hardly use weights. Now I'm 48 yo and all that cardio, plus huge calorie deficit isn't working for me anymore. I've found an amazing PT at my gym, and gaining confidence using weights. I also love seeing young women using weights so confidently in the gym these days, compared to 10-20 years ago. Thank you Mindpump for this channel. You guys talk so much sense and love the science behind it too. So glad I found this 💪

I love that you mentioned even twice a week is sufficient. I think most don’t start because they think they have to dedicate so much time to it when in reality the little things matter (stairs as opposed to elevator) and dedicating two or three days to something (weight training) that will enhance your life in many arenas. Discipline in one area of life has a ripple effect in other areas of your life. Great motivating podcast!

I love that you guys are talking about this I am 55 years old and I am a personal trainer and have been for 28 years. My aging body is now resisting the hard work that I’m putting in due to perimenopause during perimenopause for a woman it’s harder for us to gain muscle and we put weight on. if he becomes a little bit harder because estrogen for women is like testosterone for men it’s our anabiotic hormone. Our shifting hormones affect our metabolic things things become a little bit harder. Might I suggest having a podcast with Dr. Vonda right or Dr. Sims. Doctors currently speaking about perimenopause and its effect on exercise, weight gain muscle gains and osteoporosis. Your audience is not just for the younger generation but for a older people as well lol and perimenopause can start as early as the late 30s and can last up to 10 years. I had no idea I was in menopause because my generation never talked about it and you being in your 40s I’m sure your wives will be approaching this part of this phase of their life as well.
I always enjoy listening to you guys. Keep up the good work, and don’t forget about us women and are ever roller coaster hormones. 😊

Talking about bedtime routines, I’m a 54 year old type 2 diabetic male and my routine is I go to bed by 22.45 but on the days I train I’m normally in bed by 20.30 as I’m fatigued, I generally sleep 8 - 12 hours a night, I have changed my training program since I started watching this channel, 5x5 at 90% of my one rep max, how I progress I firstly increase my reps until I can do 5x6 at 90% of my one rep max as soon as I achieve this I increase the weight for progressive overload, I have also started reverse dieting and it works, my diet is also very good(clean), I had late stage 3 cancer 48 months ago so I’m doing this for the health benefits. In the last 6 months I have dropped my body fat percentage and increased my muscle mass percentage, I only found your channel in January 2024 and I started binge watching your videos and the information you give is fantastic, please keep it coming. I’m so grateful and pleased I found your channel.

unlike a lot of your viewers i was always a fat kid, fat teen, not interested in sports. Had an ED in my 20's, lots of up and down dieting, now i'm 2 months away from 50 and probably in the best shape in a really really long time due to lifting weights, eating home cooked food made from whole foods and properly resting. A+ advice here.

Awesome podcast guys!! I’m a member of my local YMCA and have so much respect and admiration for the older members who are consistently doing what they can. One of my friends there will be 80 years young this Friday. He shows up most days to walk the track, stretch, push the tank, and take spin classes! I’m 47 and pray I am doing what he’s doing at 80! Always show up for yourself, learn what works for YOUR body, and never give up 💪🏼😊 Thanks again men!! 👊🏼

I recently found your channel through the recommendation of The John Malone Show and just started your MAPS Anywhere program. I’ve been struggling to start or maintain any sort of diet and exercising for a decade, but after only a week of following the program as well as I’m currently able to, I’m already noticing a big shift in my attitude towards both eating and exercising as well as an increase in my energy day-to-day.
Thank you for your help getting me started on my journey to a healthier life. I have a long road ahead of me, but for the first time in a very long time, I’m eager to make progress.
Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s making a difference.

With 3 young children, a husband, a full time career, a home to maintain, and chronic suboptimal sleep I’ve noticed it takes me longer to recover and thus I really need to reduce my volume in this stage of life. I am 56 and presently have more muscle mass than I ever have. I have a long term goal to be in the best shape of my life at 60. I have been consistently adding muscle and losing body fat and the scale stays at relatively the same weight. The biggest adjustment to age has been recognizing that I need more recovery time and less volume than I could tolerate in my twenties.

This podcast gave me hope and it may sound dumb but I was on the fence about maps 40+ because I thought it was more for women when I read the descriptions a few weeks ago and have been on the fence with which program to go with. The principles you discussed today helped me to see otherwise.

I don’t need Anabolic as I have that one AND MAPS 40+ already; just wanted to comment that your programs are excellent. I’m a 44 year old female and in great shape because of you guys.

It’s scared to let go of old training habits. I’ve always weight trained 5 days a week and 1 day mobility that I’ve just started. I’ve started to put on fat after turning 53. I cried when you spoke about the reflection in the mirror and scale, because I can’t shift my focus from that. From what your saying I realise my body is telling me things are good, the only place I struggle is sleep, but I’m a shift worker. I also get tested on my VO2 max = bleep test 7.6, I’m a female and soon to be 55 so it’s definitely up there on a high expectation. I’ve started eating more protein and the best side effects is I’m no longer the queen and now have regular bowl movements. Before it could be a week to 2 weeks before I’d need to go. I’m considering your over 40 plan, but I wonder if a PT would benefit me more 🤔

💪🏿I’m 45. I feel good, even after being hit by a car while on my morning bike ride a few years ago. I’m starting to feel a little older, but still don’t feel my age.
I’ve worked out, and rode my bike very consistently for the last 15 years, and had a very active job most of my 20s into my thirties. At 45, I still out perform all of my younger coworkers.💪🏿

Love your show . I’m just shy of 70 years young a grandmother of 5 and in the best shape of my life. Started lifting 10 years ago . Did my first completion at 60 , but unfortunately got stuck on the 1200 cal express . Trashed the scale and continue working on getting my calories up ( now at 1500 and slowly hope to get to 1600. Quick question.. they say as you age you even need more protein, I weigh approximately 118 and try to hit 120-130 grams of protein a day from real food . If i add a protein shake on top of that is that too much protein ?? I workout with a trainer and lift 3 days a week and easy get in 10,000 steps a day . Loved your show content today and hope you continue doing shows for us “ youngsters “ !! Thank you for all the great information you provide. 💪💪

I'm 45 years old. I started working out a year ago with the intention of losing weight and building around 20lbs of muscle over a few years. My brother told me that's impossible because I'm too old. Lol. We will see.

I was doing Maps Anabolic and injured myself. I’ve been off for 5 weeks and about to start back up again. It’s so depressing to have to stop when I was doing so well!

I’m in my mid 40’s weight train (full body - two exercises per major body part) I’m getting stronger but don’t look like I train at all. I have to learn how to eat for gains.

I'm about to be 45 and I've found that hybrid training is best for me. Opening with heavier compounds, ending in calisthenics and some islolation.

I think that social media influences people on their perception of working out. There are so many influencers out there that are projecting workouts everyday. Some are absolutely ridiculous.

I feel like at 55 I have more stamina in the gym and go more than people my age or 10 years younger. I’m not sure if it’s just due to me always loving the gym or combination of a better diet or just not wanting to be old but yall teaching this stuff has kept me inspired ❤
