    Thank you! Just started with this and you answered the very question I was having with Tip 2! With all of the awesome features of this program, it's been hard to find any videos that really deal with the basic interaction between the plugin and DAW.

    Instead of muting in tip no. 2 you can press “follow host” button, and transport of DAW will not trigger transport in EZDrummer. Ezy..

    Great help thank you; with tip 2, I have no mute option? Please could you advise how it is possible to record the drums as actual sound, if it is possible? Would you have to render each track on its own?

  • @Tweekend27
    @Tweekend27 6 років тому +1

    You'll probably laugh at this but this relates to TIP-3. I'm currently using 9 different tracks (all EZDrummer) on my latest project, each being for a different piece of the drum kit as some pieces I want softer or louder than default setting allows while maintaining my required velocity (and because I was to add certain effects to each kit piece to enhance their sound and presence).
    Then I watched your video... :p

    Is there a way to use both the cowbell and the claps in the Nashville EZD2 drumkit, which I am triggering with a Beatstep Pro? It seems they both use midi number 1 and it's either/or in the kits that don't have a cowbell that isn't in the 3 percussion pad drop down menus.

    I still have trouble when programming my own drums hit for hit, (not using samples) getting the 'humanising' to work. No matter what I set it to,.. it always stays at 100% volume.
    Note- both times I tried I had already had the drums programmed prior to turning it on.
    Any ideas?

    I only see two drum samples appearing in my library under the search menu. How do I get or load more samples

  • @metalion667

    always very informative, I insert both ez and superior drummer in my daw (reaper) and route a midi send from ez to superior. I do all my writing with ez, then enable midi out in the settings to trigger superior which I find better for mixing as ez is pre mixed ( oh I mute ez btw )

    • @ReapertvUk
      @ReapertvUk  7 років тому +1

      Funnily enough, you're the second person that I know of who uses that method. I can certainly see the benefits of working that way, especially if you want more control over the drum samples.

    Hello, I am using EZ 2 and I can’t figure out how to choke a cymbal or use the percussion parts. They all say what key they are mapped to but none of them play the sound that they should. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

  • @DavidMacVicar
    @DavidMacVicar 5 років тому +1

    This is great thanks. One thing I don't get is when you drag Midi into your DAW and make custom edits (remove some snares, hits, etc)... ToonTrack help says you can 'record enable' EzDrummer 2 and if "follow host" is selected, you can play on the host and it will record the updates you made back into EZDrummer 2's timeline. I have not got this to work at all. Have you ever done this? I am confused about the workflow. If I am building a song, should I do it ALL in EzDrummer's interface piece by piece? Or just use it as a 'landing zone' for "verse/chorus/fill/ending" and just drag into my DAW and then edit from there?

    Hello Paul.You know maybe any option upgrade from Superior Drummer to EzDrummer,usualy its EzDrummer to Superior?

      I've got Superrior Drummer and i want ask if you know any chance to upgrade or downgrade to EzDrummer 2?

    • @ReapertvUk
      @ReapertvUk  7 років тому +1

      wizmos74 Ahh I thought that's what you were getting at :0)
      Unfortunately I don't think Toontrack offer that sort of upgrade / downgrade path.

    • @wizmos74
      @wizmos74 7 років тому +2

      Ok,thanks for info so i will gonna buy EzDrummer 2 cause for quick set up drums its easier than Superior Drummer,or maybe i'm wrong but i think all factory sounds with ezx its a lot easier,

  • @lunatictumor
    @lunatictumor 7 років тому +11

    As for Tip 2, wouldnt it just be easier to turn off the "Follow Host" button?

    • @wizmos74
      @wizmos74 7 років тому

      Not really cause in your DAW you can modify that midi file and you've got original one in Ezdrummer and for me that's make sense,cheers

    • @lunatictumor
      @lunatictumor 7 років тому +3

      You would have the same thing with the follow host turned off as well though. The midi is still there in both aspects. It just stops EZDrummer from playing ITSELF the same when hitting play in the DAW. The DAW midi still triggers the EZD samples, but its not running the EZD timeline.

    • @wizmos74
      @wizmos74 7 років тому

      Yes but you've got much more comfortable edit notes in midi DAW then in inside Ezdrummer so follow host button doesen't make any sense if you want edit your parts midi drums.if you want use original midi ezdrummer then you right easier is host button follow but for me only in this case

    • @Woutahh
      @Woutahh 7 років тому +1

      I dont even use the timeline in ezdrummer itself. Just drag the midi staight in my daw. Way clearer that way imo.

    • @lunatictumor
      @lunatictumor 7 років тому

      That's exactly what I mean.

    what if you dont have metal machine, can you still open a full16 tracks or what?

    • @ReapertvUk
      @ReapertvUk  6 років тому

      Yes, you can output to 16 channels regardless of what drum pack you use. You may just end up with blank tracks which you can then either re-route or delete (as needed).

      No we don't, this guy is Welsh, so it is a regional variation, it's not a moot point! Also for route, we pronounce it root not rowt.

      Rout means something different to route (root)

  • @arthurmee
