Nobody holds that title but Elvis. although, E himself once called Fats that, that was at the beginning of Elvis' carreer. As great as Fats Domino was Elvis Presley will always be the king of rock n roll!
I was fortunate enough to see "The Fat Man" play live in 1986 here in Seattle, he was truly awesome! As an encore he literally belly-bumped his piano across the stage as he sang and played, not missing a single note! Outstanding.
I’m 16 years old and my mom and dad listened to a lot of stuff from the 50s-70s to blues and rock and roll and my mother dosent think I belong in the genoration at all because I wear clothes straight out from those decades and listen to the music as well. LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL
Not only is this just an all-time great song but you can feel how Domino himself and every other person seems delighted to be there doing what they're doing-It's a performance firing on all cylinders and I'm glad it's still here for us to enjoy over half a century later. Also god damn I want to be friends with that drummer in the back, his vibes are immaculate.
Mee too Brisbane festival Hall circa 1974...he and his band were fantastic...mjusicianns were up and down isles while Fats hipped the piano across the stage..just fantastic energy.
I'm taking a history of rock and roll class and I'm glad that I took it. I listen to a lot of modern music and it's still what I prefer to listen to but man, all of the songs I've listened to, this one included, have really opened my eyes on some of the amazing music of the 50's. This song is freaking awesome.
I fucking love fats domino. Also, remember Dion? Runaround Sue? Yeah he's still performing live at 80+ years and *KILLING* it. I'd give anything to see him live
Times were truly different but the faces and the expressions are the same.its almost as if I know them personally it’s almost as if I’ve seen these people before
I am a massive Elvis fan, and I know he repeatedly said Fats was the true king of rock and roll. And yup…we all know why he wasn’t given the title he deserved. Ain’t that a shame.
I got it from a Roblox Chicago 1949 RP, I was with my friend and when I came out, a mob leader looked at me holding a Tommy gun and I said ain’t that a shame.
I’m sorry but looking at the crowd bring back so many dark memories about the south and how in many ways it’s like this now… but the music is beautiful
ANYBODY HERE HAS EXCELLENT TASTE IN MUSIC
2024 UNTIL FOREVER UNTIL FOREVER

My dad bragged about seeing this great musician at local lounges in Lousiana back in the 50's. Talanted man before his time.
Elvis himself said Fats is the real King of Rock n' Roll
Music isn't this good these days. Ain't that a shame
You are delusional
I know and it hurts my soul
Bowie came through on Cody ITC recently and he said that there will never be rock and roll again. 😢
Bessie and Billie have more soul than Billie Eyelash 🥴
You just aren't looking.
My dad was a greaser in the 50’s. This was one of his favorite songs.
Still Listening in 2024! Absolutely love this one!! Fats Domino! The King of Rock-N-Roll 💯
ELVIS was the KING of rock and roll!
@michaelcraig9449 Even Elvis said Fats Domino is the King of Rock-N-Roll

There is 50s style diner where I live and they played this song and I just love it. Good food, good music and good time 😊🎶
Love those kinds of places!

@@michaelcraig9449 Elvis did say it.
Oldies are SO MUCH better than todays music. I am 51 and glad mom raised me on oldies. I sure miss her.

@@samueljr.3817If you like fats domino you should listen to little Richard Sam Cooke and the platters.
@@JasperHardy-v8j i'm listening to it right now. Wonderful!
For those who found this classic in 2024: Ain't that a shame!
When it first came out. Loved his music. Saw him on TV back then, probably Ed Sullivan.

We miss you! Ain’t that a SHAME.
I love this song
Man they really don't make music like this anymore it's so good
I for real feel I’m more likely to jam to a song from 1956 than a song from 2020 onwards.
Music’s evolving, just backwards.
Timeless. He went missing for a few days after Katrina, thank God he was okay.
Beauty ful old song. I love it 🎷🎷🎷🎷🎸🎹❤🎺🥁 i miss the good old times

Love kicking this classic every year after my Cleveland Guardians lose to the Yankees in the playoffs.
Fantastic!!!!!!!❤
Fats was playing rock and roll in 1953 yet the credit has been given to someone who couldn't even write a song!
i wonder why…

Is that Sterling Holloway at 1:40 ? On the right?
That poor bastard got eternal shame for his different brand of music. Not even a step into the river could wash away his original sin.
