You should have included the history of the term beta! Betamax tapes are such an iconic part of climbing history! :)

I guess I was “spraying beta” today with my kid because I was guiding her up the wall

I am new and recently asked a guy for help on a problem. He told me I need to "knuckle" the first hold. I nodded yes, but don't know what that means.
Edit: I've been climbing for a few months now. It was not knuckle, that he said, it was bump. I know what this means, now, haha

Pretty sure sending it means you’re going to try your best and usually as a last try. Like if you’ve never landed a backflip but are confident you can, you can say “I’m gonna send it”.
That’s how it’s used in the US anyway!

I'm not French, therefore I don't say "allez". I don't see the point of doing it if I'm not French myself.

There's no point in doing anything.

@@papabird4425 there's definitely a point in speaking a language you both use.

@Ramon314 I meant an ultimate point. You're referring to something very superficial and transitory. Nothing really "means" anything, nor is there any inherent value. Thank you for coming to my philosophy Ted Talk 😀
