Sure it's luck to an extent but they put in the work for long enough that luck found its way to them. At least that's how I see it. Cuz alternatively they could've just genuinely been a bad gym and perhaps Magnus has a much worse impression on them which doesn't get them any additional recognition.

But you don't understand what I mean, I'm saying that it blew up because it exceeded his expectations as the "worst climbing gym" meaning the setting was actually really good in of itself. That's my overall point, is that despite the ratings, the gym kept setting good routes which made it so that when Magnus showed up they capitalized off that luck instead of falling short. They put in the work and when luck met hard work that's how you have success.

Hey Magnus, this was so heartwarming to watch. The whole idea of revisiting the gym, your interaction with the guys, the honesty in your eyes when you talked about getting older and weaker... I know that you need to do silly stuff for the algorithm, but rest assured that old guard are still watching for your climbing and personality.
Also, maybe you feel weaker physically, but the fact that you were able to hold for longer than 5 years ago means that you have to be at least as strong mentally (probably stronger), and at the end of the day, that is what counts.

The editing at 6:20 is very cool. The editor reduced the volume when Magnus slipped and then replayed the track at the normal tempo again when he restarted the climb. As Magnus planned his next big move at 6:50, the music slows down until it completely stops, letting us feel the anticipation both visually and through the music. Props to the editor!

Had to pause the video after the old/young comparison to comment. You've spoken quite a bit about this in your videos lately. Aging can be pretty terrifying, especially for someone who has worked to be as physically excellent as yourself. My first instinct as someone who has been inspired by you for many years was to just bolster your confidence with the facts- you're outstandingly strong and fit right now; your strength-to-weight ratio and level of technical skill make you one in many many millions. But, I believe there's a more important point (from my outsider's perspective) to be made...
Aging with grace is about shifting from learning, acquiring, conquering, and seeking (inward processes) to teaching, bestowing, offering, and building (outward processes). In your years of learning and conquering a skill, you have created a platform that sets you ahead in this way; you inspire thousands of people to be active and push themselves, developed education for aspiring and advanced climbers alike, you've shared content that reminds us of our humanity (through your transparency and sincerity) rather than distracts us from it, and built a clothing brand that has created jobs and brilliant, eco-friendly, high-quality clothes!
This is a fabulous list to your name and it only touches upon the obvious and publicly apparent parts of your life. I imagine that there are more meaningful things that lay closer to your life and heart off-camera. I wonder what you feel reflecting on these things, is there a box you haven't checked yet? Do you feel that there is leaning, acquiring, conquering, or seeking you would still like to do? What might that be? Or, perhaps, you feel passionate about making your shift of purpose in a different way- your vision is out of alignment with your steps?
You've provided a great deal to the UA-cam community and the world, I hope that your relationship with this platform does not become a limiting one. Continue to face your own life with consideration and passion! I hope that voices of pride, fulfillment, joy, and peace speak more clearly and loudly than the voices of comparison and self-doubt even just today. The warmest of wishes to you and your ongoing adventures!
