Viral Killer you're one of the few that dug deep into alien archive...thankyou for the time it took to explain this.... But i must add....... I saw a previous video about the Xenomorph alien explaining that.. You can't reason with it or teach it .....samthing Sigourney Weaver said an alien resurrection but...theres just no way because it's the perfect killing machine, it has zero fear and attacks with full intent to eviscerate you.. or brings you back ot the hive if you suit the purpose as you stated...
Also... I do think the only way you may be able to get anywere is the moment of birth keep it away from any other xenomorph on its own in that cell like you seen Alien Resurrection and just feed it thoughs people you see coming in thoughs cryo-chambers aka the cargo.. And so as it gets older and the moment it starts becoming agressive press the button.. But it learns fast and adapts faster.. So you have think like a xenomorph to try and figure out what its next possible move may be.. But, by this point its all speculation..because it's unpredictable..for all we know it would probably start spitting acid on the glass, walls, or ceiling but..if you're that certain you could anywhere with it... just add layers upon layers and layers upon layers and more layers of either hard concrete with steel walls and double pane and tripple reinforced bulletproof glass maybe thenn it wouldn't have a chance to escape..... But then again i spite of all that... I don't believe it would matter in the end because, it would be like catching a wild fully grown velociraptor and trynna teach it to to heel and fetch....but fetch it would if there was a live meal in it's sights..just don't expect it bring anything back..
I always thought Xenomorphs killed simply because they want to be the dominant species and see other species as a threat to themselves. I do remember reading a paperback novel about the xenomorph where the xenomorphs protected a child from harm possibly because the girl was seen as harmless by the xenos or perhaps they, in their own way, took pity on her because she was an outcast from her group or perhaps she had some sort of ability to control them. She was able to sit among the xenos almost as if she was one of their own and she could order them to attack any perceived enemies and they would obey her. She could also order them not to attack her friends and the xenos would protect them. Maybe she had the same ability to control them like the Queen does somehow. I will try to recall the name of that paperback. Bantam books published it.
What part of the Xenomorph am I eating? Well...Xenomorphs don't really have parts but if I were to guess what part I would say your eating its... knee.
The queen in Aliens demonstrated an empathetic bargaining - she called her warriors off Ripley and Newt, acknowledging the clear and present danger that was Ripleys artilliary in the hive. We don’t know if the queen would have let Ripley and Newt walk out of the hive unscathed or would they have ambushed her at the exit? The facehugger which couldn’t be allowed for popped out and Ripley broke the unspoken truce that the queen had offered. The fact that the Queen was able to understand the threat and bargain so fast shows how intelligent a species they are and not just mindless killers, she even relayed the bargain to her warriors who stood down immediately at her command. It shows that they acknowledge that killing isn’t always the best way to protect the hive. I believe the queen doesn’t control facehuggers as they are very primitive, I’ll bet when that egg hatched, the queen thought, shit!
@@ouknow1446e actually was behind her, that Newt spotted. I’ll never understand why Ripley threw those grenades on to the burning hive and they didn’t destroy everything, including the Queen. She should have just left with some spares, she should have known any surviving Xeno’s would be hot on her tail.
@@ouknow1446 ha yeah, there was no intention of letting them go. Ripleys face afterwards shows she’s disappointed the queen was trying to trap them again. It’s a great scene with no dialogue, very impressive
IN Aliens, the xenomorphs understood electrical systems to some degree & wrecked wiring to make things tougher for their enemies so there's some intelligence.
@@aisutistoto5771 it was originally planned to be included in the 70s film but was cut for obvious reasons. The Isolation DLC where you play as Ripley shows Lambert’s corpse with blood around her crotch area.
@@SadAndVengeful They weren't very aggressive except for Alien Covenant and Alien 3. In Aliens they only attacked to defend the hive and to cocoon people.
@@porko882 That's why Aliens is considered a watered down, more kid friendly movie of the franchise. The reason I hate it so much. Alien deserved a better sequel.
@@SadAndVengeful I actually liked it the most but i enjoyed all of them and how they were different, I even liked Alien resurrection and its more cartoon tone since it reminded me more of the comic books.
I think it may be a little bit of both, they act instinctively when they defend the queen, or to ensure survival of the species. If there is no threat to their survival, then they start acting sadistic, or empathetic.
I personally believe that Xenomorphs are so aggressive is because they're so intelligent that they see all other life as beneath them, and believe that all other lifeforms are only worth their weight in food or potentially as hosts for egg transformation.
But, if it's in a passive state for a long period of time and is given time to interact with humans or other species, it will develop an understanding of the other species.
It is very interesting how the Xenomorphs acquire their genetic memories. Back when I was researching in college to be a genetic engineer I would be fascinated by similar research such as an ability of a certain carnivorous leech to absorb the memories of any other leech it ate. Turns out brain cells(in both leeches and humans and basically all other animals we've tested) use viral capsid data-packets full of RNA which is transfered between cells like a viral infection to create hard-coded memories which the leeches can absorb and copy into themselves. This would be a cool sci-fi way of explaining how the xenos absorb their hosts memories as well as pass them down between generations.
Silvia Fox this might be an off topic or too personal question so if you dont want to answer then thats fine but are you a genetic engineer now or did you not take it up?
I also find interesting is that apparently Xenomorphs will take on certain physical and behavioral traits depending on the species of it's host organism. Such as how in Alien 3, the Xenomorph came from a dog (originally was supposed to be an actual Bull, but they made it come from a pitbull instead at the last minute) and appeared and behaved in a more animalistic fashion - establishing territorial areas, tended to run down it's pray (not always) rather than lying in wait to ambush, one was brutal and ferocious in it's attacks where the other was more sadistic and fiendish. Not to mention the clear physical differences such as the more preferred methods of movement - humanoid Xenomorphs tended to remain on two legs whereas the 'Bull' Xenomorph preferred going about on all four. As to the genetic memories, I do recall reading in one of the comics that apparently a Xenomorph can even recall the memories of it's host organism, beyond just instinctual and environmental knowledge. Though to what extend they never fully explained.
I developed a food allergy which caused my blood to become extremely acidic which gave me a lot of strokes and memory loss and even melted my fingernails off. I was not able to complete my schooling because of that but I am doing much better now that I almost totally avoid my food allergies now. It turns out I have a LOT of food allergies so I can't *completely* avoid them for my entire life without dying of malnutrition. On top of that I kinda found out that genetic engineers are forced to do horrible things in their jobs and really don't have any control over their own labs unless they started off multimillionaires and don't take federal grants at all. So I gave up on it after I healed up anyway. Funny part was that genetic engineering of our foods is the biggest cause of my allergies! The Universe is ironic like that!
Silvia Fox holy shit i didnt expect that. that's a pretty amazing story and that food allergy sounds like something straight from a movie. may i ask what you are doing now?
In the original Alien, Ridley Scott wanted the Alien to kill Ripley then speak with the voice of Dallas to the ship and head for earth but obviously the studio wanted a happy end to the film or so Scott says on the commentary for Alien, makes you think how the series would of went if Ripley had not become the main focus of the sequel as well as the Alien itself and just how much intelligence the Alien had, that's basically the Alien doing the engineers job in Prometheus. Glad he didn't make it talk though.
@@insertname1841 the thing and among us (alien) are literally the exact same creature save for the fact the amoung us creature can duplicate clothes. It's a video game version of the thing that's the whole point. I'm not saying they're equally relevant or cool pop culture references but for the effect of what he was tryna say either one works.
Yeah they were created for a Space Horror movie, its like asking why was Jaws so aggressive or any monster from a horror movie. Nerds will rabble on about any old shite.
One thing you did not address in this video is the scene where Ripley is gently lowered down through a host of xenomorphs and carried away. The xenomorph carrying her appears to be very gentle; almost keeping her close in a loving embrace. Now it's possible that this is due to some kind of connection the xenomorphs had with Ripley as she was cloned with xenomorph dna to produce a queen. However, it did appear the xenomorphs acting completely different from being the mindless killing machines or hunters. That one almost looked like a caretaker.
To be fair, it’s pretty likely xenomorphs have a psychic connection to Queens and eggs, as opposed to a physical link through pheromones or signaling. Each one has the potential to become a queen (the intelligence necessary, and the physical characteristics), and each one is connected to the others. This might mean that Ripley has gained respect in the consciousness of xenomorphs due to her repeatedly beating them and not being an idiot. They understand how much of a threat they are, and they probably hate humans who don’t listen to Ripley especially lol.
@@bendover9813 No chance, any threat is dealt with violently, there can perhaps be respect learned or gained from Xenomorphs, but there is no respect shown to Ripley for her beating them in the past.
It was because the Queen ordered them to bring Ripley to her. Before that the xenos.and even the facehuggers had no qualms about either killing or impregnating her
Xenomorphs definitely are a higher life form and intelligent. Thank you for explaining how ''facehuggers " can turn humans into eggs or the Xenomorphs can mutate into queens. Always wondered if a Queen Xenomorph needed to be fertilized. Fun Fact, no. Thank you for enlightening me
For years I've wondered if Aliens sequel and novelisations downplayed Xeno intelligence making the swarm mentality a canon. Because in Alien, the Xeno didn't have much time to develop and could be considered a "baby" or or possibly "youth" after skin shedding. In fact when I first saw the movie, I thought that after some time, Alien would be capable of learning some basic controls of the ship's system... Now decades later I found stories of alternate ending ideas that kind of hinted that. Can't remember the source though, whether it was from Ridley or from the screenwriter of Starbeast.
in the scene where the aliens slaughter one of their own to escape the cell it's possible that, rather than being decided by social hierarchy, they just made that decision and picked one of their own for purely practical reasons, or maybe even the one volunteered to be sacrificed. in ants we see that in times of combat they'll actually perform a sort of triage, and only provide aid to fellow ants who have lost fewer than 1/4 of their legs. we also see among all hive animals that the young are cared for communally, with all drones making special effort to protect and feed the larva/babies. many of the times we see xenomorphs is in cases of an isolated drone being born and existing entirely alone, and its possible that as a colony grows and increases its cumulative knowledge the individual members become smarter, and more capable of reasoning. to this end it's entirely possible that, given enough time, a xenomorph colony will develop into a more civilized and less outwardly aggressive society. but all the same, they need other species for both reproduction and food, so likely they simply have less empathy for outside species than they do for each other. most likely there's a limit to the amount of empathy they could show. after all, you may think cows are great and not like to see them hurt, but you'll still eat hamburgers.
@@micahrutland991 now the real question is, is that because xenomorphs have that level of self preservation, or was that influenced by the presence of human DNA creating a greater sense of individuality?
Xenomorphs are actually pretty cool guys once you get to know them. Give one of these misunderstood individuals a chance and you may find they truly only want your love and friendship 👍😉❤
They are working off of the same intellect as us and probably beyond. As seen in aliens the queen was able to see and understand ripleys threat to her eggs and called off her drones and warriors. The difference between us and them is they are a hive mind rather than individual thinker with a brooding desire to infest and grow there hive and numbers. As far as empathy vs cold blooded killer goes, I'm more than positive they can show mercy or empathy as the alien in alien 1 had ample opportunity to kill ripleys cat but doesn't, if it was a mindless killer than it would have made no exception for her feline companion and would have summarily extinguished the little pet's life.
The End yes this for suer there is hive mind but what happened if something destroyed or is just not there do the Queen attack his our drone or the Queen dead this something we should bite it in min
maxsol XD :p The queen would not allow a single Xenomorph to perish so long as its in her power. When something threatens the hive of course she will order her Xenomorph to defend the hive at any cost but it will never be her intention for a single xeno to perish. Unless there is a larger reasoning for it, an example of this is in alien ressurection where she orders some of her aliens to kill another so they can escape there cell. But in no way will she mindlessly kill a or let a Xenomorph die no.
Not so. Unbeknownst to all, Jones is actually the mastermind behind the xenomorphs!! It's all a plot to destroy the human race and claim the galaxy for cats, with the xenomorphs as the feline's army!! 1. Who distracted half the crew from the chestburster by giving a false positive on their scanners? Jones! 2. Remember when Brett was eaten? Who lured Brett directly to the Alien? Who distracted Brett while the Alien snuck up on him? Jones! Remember the look on Jones's face while Brett was being eaten? That was a look of satisfaction! 3. How'd the Alien know to hide in the shuttle? Who told him the ship was gonna blow? Who was left there in a container while Ripley tried to deactivate the self-destruct? Jones! Who knows what Jones said while Ripley was away? 4. Why didn't the Alien bust open the container and eat Jones? With its strength, it would have been easy! Jones, you little devil!! ☠️😼☠️
this also indicates why the aliens despite being right next to the marines in the nest (as seen when one attacks detrich) do not become agressive until the marines kill a chest burster. and every single marine death in the film is a direct result of the marines (detrich's flamer hitting frost, the ammo exploding killing crowe, vasquez killing an alien and splashing drake, vasquez and gormen blowing themselves up, ferro crashing the dropship) every time we see the aliens attack someone they drag them away to the nest (apone, detrich, weizbowski, hudson, burke), the aliens do not seam to be concerned with killing but rather capturing hosts also the only on screen death seen in alien is parker who was killed while fighting with the alien (we do not see lambert's death and it's possible that she wasn't actually killed as the novel of aliens indicates the alien tail spike contains a paralysing agent, though there's also the possibility that she would suffer the same fate as brett given the shot of the tail going between the legs was filmed for brett's death)
Actually they are not, its their natrual to scream when they attacking troops before they reach the hive as i said they are animals not monster they see other creatures as threat
The Alien from the first film was intelligent and extremely sadistic. The original script had Ripley cast off in the escape pod to detonate the Nostromo and it was supposed to cut to a shot of the ship and her dialogue from the end of the film where she's broadcasting what happened. Then it cuts to inside the pod where you see a dead Ripley and the Alien is operating the ship and mimicking Ripley's voice on the broadcast to lure more people to it. The whole dumb animal aspect didn't get introduced until Cameron got his grubby mits on the IP. And unfortunately pretty much everything in the series since then has based the alien on Camerons whaling space ants. There wasn't even supposed to be a queen. And the Acid blood was never confirmed to actually be in the alien, the only time we saw it was in the facehugger. Death of a potentially fantastic franchise going the whole B monster mash movie rout.
ummm, I'm glad they didn't go with that original plot. Pardon me, but I think the idea of having the xenomorph talk isn't the greatest idea ever made, in fact it would have been a much worst B movie series.
Among cannon fluff, Newborn was the only one Xeno who truly had what we can call a "personality", that of a developing child, both curious and cruel. Alas, it was too short-lived for us to get a glimpse of what its mind would become after maturing and having more life experience...
Newborn would’ve caused more damage then anything, it seemed like it was in its first & final stage of it’s life cycle.. Meaning it would just be a big bulking baby, acting on impulse & emotional fits -but yeah we won’t know because he turned into _space_ _spaghetti_
I think the idea is that they're supposed to be a very complex virus. Rather than being microscopic and dependent on hosts it simulates life like regular animals, but at its core its still a virus which would suggest that it is going to be very aggressive
I know for sure that they are some of the most terrifying creatures ever conceived Just their sheer speed and agility combined with how aggressive they are makes them almost impossible to kill They're basically huge wasps that run instead of fly
The xenos definitely have some level of intelligence. Remember, they did knock out the power in Aliens. But they are also somewhat mindless, as exemplified by throwing themselves at the remote gun turrets. Indeed they do operate with a hive mind mentality, but they've got a backup plan in case one is ever cut off.
I remember Alien Theory mentioning a scientist who raised a captive Xeno from birth. Her dying words were something like: "He hesitated, just for a moment."
Anon E. Mus Perhaps the scientist would have survived,if he had Xeno DNA inside him too? You know, like Ripley's clone, but in a more "Hybrid human" manner!
Indeed! As long as the Ovomorphs stay at a distance from you,you probably could survive in a Xeno hive, providing you'd indeed earn their trust!I'd have loved to study the XX21 species so much!!
The key was that the aliens were dying from a proliferating disease. Church was only spared to act as an experiment for survival. Given the situation in combination with Church's role in 'helping' the hive he did in fact alleviate their aggression towards him, but it was by no account a voluntary act for both parties.
I remember the commic s,Indeed! Still,a little bit more "David" style alternation on their DNA chains should do some good work (David intentionally made them aggressive according to Covenant's extras scenes).
Well, I’ve always imagined them to go by wild animal rules with everything that isn’t a potential mate being thought of as ether a threat or food, triggering the flight or fight response, especially considering the most common xenomorph varieties are not that much taller than humans. Keep in mind pretty much everything in the Wild seems aggressive to us but majority of animals are simply defending themselves, some can even revert into this way of thinking if the conditions and interactions change and their instincts are strong enough (cats being the biggest example) Soo maybe this horror icon is simply defending itself, without a Queen telling it what to do it’s confusing, maybe scared, who knows
I like this idea. Perhaps the Engineers see xenos just as we see cats? We know cats can scratch and bite, kill other animals and bring their dead bodies to us, but we forgive them because we see them as cute. Cats will also eat your face if you die in your house and they have no food. :)
I had imagined the Xenomorph XX121 was inherently inimical to all other life and was sadistic from birth. Apparently, it requires its prey to be terrified, the more afraid they are the tastier the meat. Plus fear seems to be vital to other functions that the Xenomorph XX121 requires of potential hosts for its young, according to the Alien - Resurrection novelisation. Terrified hosts accelerate the development of the larva to the point where they can emerge from their hosts, and as with the adult Xeno, fear flavours the meat with essential nutrients for the continued development of the larva until its first moulting. When its transformation into the adult form is complete, its inborn instinct to indulge its hatred and sadism inspires the necessary terror that makes its prey easier to consume and digest. The intelligence and memories it obtains from its victims aids in evolving its capacity to inflict terror and suffering on future victims.
From what I know, they have DNA memory. They adapt to the environment so we seen them taking people for incubation when they are little in numbers, they are aware of weapons, they are aware about their anatomy knowing their blood it's acidic. When are alone they hunt strategically, not rushing into fire. They communicate with the queen, they are linked somehow.
they (very stupidly) delved into this in the special features instead of the main story (and possibly book, haven't read it) that David discovered that the Engineers created the baseline for the Xeno, but for reasons unknown to him, perhaps out of fear, halted and archived their research all together. so though he has a heavy hand in generating them, he's simply got a god complex and tinkering with another mad scientists lab notes
Why doesn’t anyone bring up aliens vs predators the aliens existed long enough for predators to covet them as trophies, and aliens vs predator occurred way before alien time line.
@@eroscancel8493 AvP isn't canon. Not only to the Alien films, but possibly even to the Predator films as well. Just bc there's a Xeno skull on the ship in Predator 2 doesn't mean it has anything to do with AvP, for instance.
Good analysis of the Xenomorphs. In none of the films from the early Alien series , Prometheus, or Alien Covenant do we ever see them eat any of the humans they kill. Based on that, I think you're correct that they are biological weapons designed by the engineers to kill humans, since the engineers "changed their minds" about us. But that raises some questions - 1. are they Overkill- why do they kill every type of animal, including their own species (after David killed Dr. Holloway, and released the cargo on the engineer's planet.) 2. How do they behave in "hive" daily, to each other, and communicate with each other? 3. Like you said, are they capable of individual thought, creativity, and do they have motivations beyond just murderous animalistic impulses? Honestly, Ridley Scott and the other creators of the franchise could make another one, and answer some more questions left at the end of Covenant.
Have you ever hugged or kissed a xenomorph? Most likely not...They only show tenderness and appreciation among themselves, but sometimes they kill eachother under certain circumtances...We humans and other mammals like dogs or bears just serve as their food, even the embryos use our chest our lungs our heart just for food in order to grow...Aliens don't contition their newborns, the babies have to survive alone after birth....:-)
What I love about the alien predator universe is the concept of intelligence and sentience. Xenomorphs are way more intelligent than humans, but a different kind of intelligence. Xenomorphs also have emotion, but nothing similar to that of mammals or all humans. They have a different biochemistry on how they view and process the world entirely. Entomologist would definitely understand what I'm saying.
4 years later...I'm watching this again. Simple fact is, you made a great video, especially for Alien fans! Plus, you throw in the cut scene of the auto guns blasting the alien attackers. Thank you!
Man. That AVP 2 game you mentioned was one of my favorites growing up. It is incredibly hard to get a hold of that game these days. It's not for sale on any digital platform. I spent $3800 on my desktop and it didn't even come with a cd drive. Lol discs are going extinct. Even if I bought it online I would need an external cd drive to even install it and if it's anything like the first one it'll be difficult to even get it work on a modern system. I'm glad I got to experience that game though. The AVP they made most recently was a sad imitation of those original two titles.
I don't know why even one has to explain this. If you have hyper extreme acid for blood, you wouldn't be too happy. In addition, you got these aliens (from the Xenomorphs perspective), called humans, always wanting to catch you.
I like that part in Covenant, in the cargo bay. How the Xenomorph can go from just chill and searching to BLOODY MURDER in a heartbeat. Really shows the primal aggression. Also, AvP 2010 has some pretty horrific kills. Shoving it's tail up through someone's rear and out their mouth, using a person's head as a bowling ball. Yeah, I'd say they enjoy their work.
my opinion is that, whatever the patogen or facehuger is, we gotta remember they adapt to the DNA of it's victim AND, personally what i think the species takes as a base for it's ultimate form, is not only the phisical similarities but it's "evilness". Call it killer instinct, survival instinct or whatever, the Alien is a sentient beast
Wel in the comic song of spears,a woman tried to bond with an alien since he was littleand when it escaped the alien hesitated to kill her, even if it was just for a few moments
I read a comic long ago were a deformed pred got shunned and kicked out of his clan and the xeno's took him in until he tried to kill the queen to get back in he's clan
Their genetics. Their DNA is already highly advanced before empregnating a host with an embryo. While the gestation period of the chest burster is in effect it also absorbs dominant genetic traits of its host to intertwine with its own DNA. This process upgrades the Xenomorph to always have the edge over whatever species its engaging with wether it be combat or gathering hive hosts, it will have a upper hand genetically in the end.
The End if that's the case, then to what extent are they superior to us? Are they able to lift and throw trucks like beach balls, or are they restricted to ripping into prey items? Can their strength be physically measurable?
Praetorian Rex 1.they have the ability to live in the most extreme environments. 2.Their metabolism is still a mystery but it can be noted that they can live for extremely long periods of time without food or hydration. 3.They have an incredibly strong carapace like exoskeleton that can withstand far more damage than regular terrestrial beings. 4. They can benefit from instant communication/transmission of critical information needed for the survival of the there kind thru there hive mind link. 5.They are far stronger than humans, as in alien vs predator 1 a Xenomorph effortlessly lifts a predator off the ground with its tail from the crawlspace above. 6.They have incredible speed and agility. 7.They can see effortlessly in the darkest of environments though some speculate to a more psionic form of vision along with a pheromone based interface to understand there environments. 8.They have the ultimate defense mechanism upon death by wich they spatter volatile caustic acid wherever they may fall essentially making any 1 Xenomorph in combat a potential suicide bomber like problem to there enemies. Especially when in a space vessel where it has a specific enclosed environment that the inhabitants of the vessel need to live. This is but a small list of things that makes them far superior to humans. With all these advantages they also will take any advantageous DNA strands from its host to further its capabilities against it while also suiting it better for the environment that the host may live in. Ultimately they have a very unique set of genetics that give them an edge against most species and there is plenty more that could be put on this list.
Space Jockey pilot in 1979 Alien, was likely a 'good guy', who sacrificed himself, knowing he was 'egged', crashed his ship on a lifeless hostile planetoid, and activated a warning beacon to stay away. Perhaps the beacon was also meant to be a call to destroy the vessel and its cargo. The xeno that burst out of him, died or reverted to egg, in absence of new host and prey.
In the novels that follow “out of the shadows” it is shown that, at least collectively, they are intelligent enough to recognize when a group of people is more work to capture and sometimes even show fear. In one of the novels, beneath a desert silicon mine, a subterranean hive directly descended from the Acheron colony recognized one of the miners as the “Queenslayer’s blood” according to a short passage from the POV of the hive. This guy was just Ellen Ripley’s great great grandchild. But they remember her bloodline. To an extent Newt and Hicks as well. This can also be seen in Alien Isolation. Amanda begins to fight back, playing essential roles in major blows to the well being of the Sevastopol hive. By the end, multiple hunting packs have been redirected to hunt down *one 20 something woman* a head shorter than her mother! If you put up enough of a fight, they will try to use overwhelming force to deal with you. If you escape and the hive lives to expand? Not even your great great grandkids will get off easy. In other words, to use JERI’s phrase, “they know a sonuvabitch when they see one”
From the behavior i observe, they are catlike, and we are mouselike, they are indifferent to our fear and suffering. Simply things to be toyed with and torn apart at will. This i believe was why ridley included Jonesy, to mirror the creatures reactions, you will notice the close ups cat hiss when cornered, stare indifferently at death, curls up in dark corners. The alien even appears to recognise a fellow killer when it examines the cat in the cage and lets it live. Even the way it stalks up behind ripley when she looks away from it. My cat always stands still when it knows your looking.
To me it appears that once face-hugger infests a biological form, it inherits not only its physical features, but mental as well. I would go even a bit deeper : if You notice how xenomorphs acts, they can almost read its victims intention on some instinctive level. I think that maybe this is what gives them their tremendous advantage over victims. They know from birth how their originator race will react, what is its fears and how to hide/move/multiply in enemy environment. Since the first movie, aliens act almost in a supernatural way - spreading fear, evading its hunters, predicting enemy moves. To me, this is something above intelligence or hive mind. I don't wish to engage in mysticism or 6th sense theories, but I do submit these ideas as a food for thought.
What I don’t understand is how they continue to live. They obviously have a high metabolism due to their size, active behavior, armored skin, acidic blood, reproduction & development rates, and life span. No natural environment could sustain them, I just wonder how they never go extinct. They kill everything in sight and proliferate beyond sustainability.
The Xeno is a preprogrammed cleansing device. They were created by the Engineers to clear planets of any intelligent life that is too war-like and/or damages the environment. There's a lesson to be learned in the ALIEN movie series.
@@namethis658 Finally, someone who gets it. Ridley butchered everything, and regardless of what people think, the comics will remain superior to his pile of shit. Besides, I prefer AvP anyway. And the original, true *Space Jockeys.*
Well what sets humans apart from animals is that we aren’t what’s being called, “Hardwired,” which is a term used to describe how an animal is brought up. It means that (Example) when a baby duck is born it already has a set of instincts, it’d be easier to say preprogrammed. But humans, we aren’t hardwired or preprogrammed, we can learn other things besides involuntary actions like breathing, we learned to: walk, talk, create inventions beyond belief. What if Xenomorphs aren’t hardwired like other animal, what if they’re capable of learning like humans? I hope that this may help.
@@sharonwolfe5210 Then why don't you see it in nature? Let me answer, aggression to that extent in nature crosses the boundary of risk vs reward. Alas, the Aliens are a weapon, not a product of nature.
@@sharonwolfe5210 Yeah they are kinda like ants, but still ants will not actively go out of their way, to seek prey and attack it at all costs, as I said, nothing in nature does that. Like in Aliens when they keep to attack even though they are getting ripped apart by the sentry guns ( M56 Smartguns ) if natural animals behaved aggressively to that extent they would have gone extinct long ago, maybe never even evolved past a point.
Can you make video about what happened if there is two Queen in one have do they xenomorp attack the other form other Queen or do they are kill them self or not fight ether plz
They usually come to an understanding between each other of who is the alpha which is then referred to as Empress but usually the empress of a xenomorph planet mutates further(larger and with more crests on its head) to be able to control every other queen on that planet through the hive mind.
this is touched on in the comics. it's indicated that if there are two queens in a next (a newborn and a hive queen) they will either fight for dominance or one will flee to set up a new hive (though this is only speculation by one researcher based on the agression seen in the species) another comic (which shows the alien homeworld) indicates that when two queens rise in close proximity the hives battle it out for resources until only one hive remains thus keeping the species in check and preventing them from overwhelming the ecosystem.
that depends. there are several "speculated aliens predetors" in the expanded universe and at least one shown in the comics (though the canon of the comics is sketchy as some are considered canon while others are not, I don't have access to that particular comic right now so I can't check if that is one that is considered canon) the one predator that is shown is a (if memory serves) a green skinned beast man like creature (like the warhammer orcs) who break into alien nests to get the eggs which they eat. another predator is speculated by LaSalle Bionational in one comic (can't remember which one) where a scientist speculates on what the alien homeworld must be like and how the alien is just as likely to have predators on it's own homeworld as any species but this is pure speculation. yet another is speculated by dr orona in another comic where he talks about his theory of alien propagation and how the queens are naturally agressive towards one another. one panel in this comic shows a creature attack the young queen and it's drones resulting in the surviving drones to use the dead bodies of both species to reinforce the hive for the growing queen but again this is speculation. the only appearance of the alien "homeworld" indicates that the aliens are split into hives that battle between themselves for resources but again as this is in the comics the canon is questionable
They are plastic and resin, with some rubber bits, actually quite a bit of latex. Slathered in KY. If they think about anything it is probably about when craft services is supposed to show up so they can have lunch.
Ash who studied the Xenomorph closely stated it had structural perfection (meaning it's cells, metabolism etc and made an earlier reference to this about the facehugger). He also said this perfection was matched only by it's hostility, given he thought it was perfect this clearly states it's 100% hostile to other forms of life.
You’ve clearly never witnessed a cat toying with a mouse before killing it or seen the inside of chicken coop that a fox has got into, ripping far more than it could possibly eat all to pieces just for the fun of it.
both of those are instinctual reactions. the fox gets too excited with having a foodsource and does not have the intelligence to gauge what it needs to eat t obe full. only what is vulnerable neough to feed on without major injury. cats have a tendency to pounce on anyhting moving so they don't udnerstand that they had killed that damn mouse five minutes ago. there is not direct cruelty. more predators kill to eat and any pain or prolongness to the demise of their food is simply a result of their method of killing.
Tad Dad Personally, I think it’s naive to believe that humans hunting for fun, killing for sport, doesn’t tap into exactly the same instinctual reaction. We are after all just animals too, who have only recently known plentiful food, and for infinitely longer scratched and scrabbled to survive hunting and gathering. How did our famine familiar antecedents react in an environment suddenly surrounded by a glut of their own prey animals? Not too differently from that fox, I imagine.
I want an animal cam inside a hive, for national geographic. i bet they are playing hide & seek with their offspring all the time. It is all smiles, with both sets of denture.
The human is more dangerous then the xenomorph believe it or not, We have so much intelligence we could make weapons like the nuke and drop it on a hive and destroy it just like that, In fact even their whole planet! Alone we are weak, but in packs we can take down just about anything, just like ants
The real reason is that film makers needed "the worst monster ever" to scare the film public. Everything else are afterthoughts and postconstructions to make illogics appear logical.
There's a comic that shows a dying nest that performs experiments to try to find a way to survive whats killing them. It's told by the only survivors point of view
Garrett Wilson they can take caution but all interactions They have had with even the most daunting of threats they never hesitate to engage it, unless they are attempting to use guile to subdue it. The best way to look at would be to observe the insane bravado any of the various hive minds we have on our planet. Fear is not a luxury they can have even if they wanted to when the hive is danger.

wow thanks for all the likes guys..wasn't expecting this particular video to be received so well ;)
Viral Killer you're one of the few that dug deep into alien archive...thankyou for the time it took to explain this....

3:50 the chest bursters grow fast, really really fast, and every xenomorph has genetic memory. They are born knowing what to do.

@@magnuskallas definitely not from ridley. He doesn't know how to write well.
in the scene where the aliens slaughter one of their own to escape the cell it's possible that, rather than being decided by social hierarchy, they just made that decision and picked one of their own for purely practical reasons, or maybe even the one volunteered to be sacrificed. in ants we see that in times of combat they'll actually perform a sort of triage, and only provide aid to fellow ants who have lost fewer than 1/4 of their legs. we also see among all hive animals that the young are cared for communally, with all drones making special effort to protect and feed the larva/babies. many of the times we see xenomorphs is in cases of an isolated drone being born and existing entirely alone, and its possible that as a colony grows and increases its cumulative knowledge the individual members become smarter, and more capable of reasoning. to this end it's entirely possible that, given enough time, a xenomorph colony will develop into a more civilized and less outwardly aggressive society. but all the same, they need other species for both reproduction and food, so likely they simply have less empathy for outside species than they do for each other. most likely there's a limit to the amount of empathy they could show. after all, you may think cows are great and not like to see them hurt, but you'll still eat hamburgers.
It doesn't seem like the Xeno killed by it's own kind "volunteered" for it. It seems like it knew what the others wanted to do, and didn't want it.
What a wholesome idea! Hey Xeno- *Skull gets punctured*
The End yes this for suer there is hive mind but what happened if something destroyed or is just not there do the Queen attack his our drone or the Queen dead this something we should bite it in min
maxsol XD :p
The queen would not allow a single Xenomorph to perish so long as its in her power.
The End the cat told the xenomorph to kill all humans.. cat=alpha villain
☠️😼☠️
this also indicates why the aliens despite being right next to the marines in the nest (as seen when one attacks detrich) do not become agressive until the marines kill a chest burster. and every single marine death in the film is a direct result of the marines (detrich's flamer hitting frost, the ammo exploding killing crowe, vasquez killing an alien and splashing drake, vasquez and gormen blowing themselves up, ferro crashing the dropship) every time we see the aliens attack someone they drag them away to the nest (apone, detrich, weizbowski, hudson, burke), the aliens do not seam to be concerned with killing but rather capturing hosts
also the only on screen death seen in alien is parker who was killed while fighting with the alien (we do not see lambert's death and it's possible that she wasn't actually killed as the novel of aliens indicates the alien tail spike contains a paralysing agent, though there's also the possibility that she would suffer the same fate as brett given the shot of the tail going between the legs was filmed for brett's death)

Among cannon fluff, Newborn was the only one Xeno who truly had what we can call a "personality", that of a developing child, both curious and cruel. Alas, it was too short-lived for us to get a glimpse of what its mind would become after maturing and having more life experience...

I doubt the Xenomorphs are always aggressive. There's always a chance some Xenos are less aggressive towards certain individuals.

Keep in mind pretty much everything in the Wild seems aggressive to us but majority of animals are simply defending themselves, some can even revert into this way of thinking if the conditions and interactions change and their instincts are strong enough (cats being the biggest example)
Soo maybe this horror icon is simply defending itself, without a Queen telling it what to do it’s confusing, maybe scared, who knows
Ryaquaza 1 Nah, they're just assholes.
I like this idea. Perhaps the Engineers see xenos just as we see cats? We know cats can scratch and bite, kill other animals and bring their dead bodies to us, but we forgive them because we see them as cute. Cats will also eat your face if you die in your house and they have no food. :)
AND THEY HAVE ACID FOR BLOOD !
Because they are pissed about being created by an android. It’s ok angry xeno, i am too
they (very stupidly) delved into this in the special features instead of the main story (and possibly book, haven't read it) that David discovered that the Engineers created the baseline for the Xeno, but for reasons unknown to him, perhaps out of fear, halted and archived their research all together. so though he has a heavy hand in generating them, he's simply got a god complex and tinkering with another mad scientists lab notes
David didn’t create xenomorphs he reverse engineered a certain strain in efforts to recreate the perfect life form
Why doesn’t anyone bring up aliens vs predators the aliens existed long enough for predators to covet them as trophies, and aliens vs predator occurred way before alien time line.

Probably with hug, maybe it will love... wait.. Never mind.
maybe if you get one for a pet it will calm bit down
Have you ever hugged or kissed a xenomorph? Most likely not...They only show tenderness and appreciation among themselves, but sometimes they kill eachother under certain circumtances...We humans and other mammals like dogs or bears just serve as their food, even the embryos use our chest our lungs our heart just for food in order to grow...Aliens don't contition their newborns, the babies have to survive alone after birth....:-)
they look like hydras of zerg
Like the kind of hug and love a facehugger gives?
@@bgonzales817 Pretty much
They are just like a badger, a badger is a mean little shit that is not afraid of nothing and will kill anything to survive regardless of size.
Because it hasta be. Remba that Zeno hissing in Ripley's face, he was warning her to don't get too cocky.
Xenomorphs vs. The Borg. That would be quite interesting.
Why am I aggressive? Because nobody would let me pet Jonesy.
I don't know why even one has to explain this. If you have hyper extreme acid for blood, you wouldn't be too happy. In addition, you got these aliens (from the Xenomorphs perspective), called humans, always wanting to catch you.
It only turns into acid when it hits the air.
Why is the praying mantis so aggressive? It's a survival trait.
* Wonders about zeno *

Me: There we go now my question as been answered
When the two Xenos killed the third one, the third one seemed scared. So they are not completely without fear.
I’ve got another great idea for an Alien video. “ Are Aliens Hermaphroditic? ”
the queen is a self-fertilizing hermaphrodite...covered it in the "what is the gender of the xeno?" video
Herma- hermadapha- herm- hermadaphadite

Can you do a theory on how there is more than one Bishop in the Alien frnachise? I'm always confused by it.
i thought all xenomorphs were female from birth
Reuben Lyimo they are but they're also hermaphrodites
Wel in the comic song of spears,a woman tried to bond with an alien since he was littleand when it escaped the alien hesitated to kill her, even if it was just for a few moments
They don't have weed in space
They got dabs tho
Roots bloody roots
damn didn't think of that
In space, no one can hear you toke.
The best weed is in space ...
I read a comic long ago were a deformed pred got shunned and kicked out of his clan and the xeno's took him in until he tried to kill the queen to get back in he's clan
the aggression of the Xenomorph is a refection of our own aggressiveness
what you are to a Xenomorph:
1. host / nest material
2. sustenance
3. a hostile to be eradicated..... (preferably by using options 1&2)
How and why are Xenomorphs always stronger than their hosts?
Engineering
Praetorian Rex
1.they have the ability to live in the most extreme environments.
The End Their*
Space Jockey pilot in 1979 Alien, was likely a 'good guy', who sacrificed himself, knowing he was 'egged', crashed his ship on a lifeless hostile planetoid, and activated a warning beacon to stay away. Perhaps the beacon was also meant to be a call to destroy the vessel and its cargo. The xeno that burst out of him, died or reverted to egg, in absence of new host and prey.
Here’s the real reason. They couldn’t get through to the cable company.
AND THEY HAVE ACID FOR BLOOD !
To answer the question at the end of the video, I would say both
In the novels that follow “out of the shadows” it is shown that, at least collectively, they are intelligent enough to recognize when a group of people is more work to capture and sometimes even show fear.
The aliens are so violent because their daddy didn't hug them enuff.
YAY MORE XENOMORPHS!!!!!
MY favorite.......?.....organism!
123Quatro!!!
Beep!,Beep!,Beep!,Beep!,-.
They’re not always aggressive. You see this in Aliens. The queen orders her guards to back off to avoid getting the eggs torched. They obey.
Which tells me that they are nothing more than a living weapon and meant to decimate planets and die off.
He's not drooling, he's sneezing.
The Xeno is a preprogrammed cleansing device. They were created by the Engineers to clear planets of any intelligent life that is too war-like and/or damages the environment. There's a lesson to be learned in the ALIEN movie series.
That's Ridley Scott's senile idiocy that started from Prometheus, luckily not applicable to the original 4 movies.
They are a genetically engineered weapon, aggression to that extent in nature serves no purpose.
It does negate ANY rivals for food or territory.
@@sharonwolfe5210 Then why don't you see it in nature? Let me answer, aggression to that extent in nature crosses the boundary of risk vs reward. Alas, the Aliens are a weapon, not a product of nature.
@@doomfathertm8771
Well, I wasn't disagreeing, but army ants would be my first thought...
I remember from one comic it was said that your really bonded to a xenomorph if it hesitates to kill you and thats something special
Can you make video about what happened if there is two Queen in one have do they xenomorp attack the other form other Queen or do they are kill them self or not fight ether plz
two queens...good idea
maxsol XD :p the queens would work together.
They usually come to an understanding between each other of who is the alpha which is then referred to as Empress but usually the empress of a xenomorph planet mutates further(larger and with more crests on its head) to be able to control every other queen on that planet through the hive mind.
this is touched on in the comics. it's indicated that if there are two queens in a next (a newborn and a hive queen) they will either fight for dominance or one will flee to set up a new hive (though this is only speculation by one researcher based on the agression seen in the species)
another comic (which shows the alien homeworld) indicates that when two queens rise in close proximity the hives battle it out for resources until only one hive remains thus keeping the species in check and preventing them from overwhelming the ecosystem.
that depends. there are several "speculated aliens predetors" in the expanded universe and at least one shown in the comics (though the canon of the comics is sketchy as some are considered canon while others are not, I don't have access to that particular comic right now so I can't check if that is one that is considered canon)
the one predator that is shown is a (if memory serves) a green skinned beast man like creature (like the warhammer orcs) who break into alien nests to get the eggs which they eat.
another predator is speculated by LaSalle Bionational in one comic (can't remember which one) where a scientist speculates on what the alien homeworld must be like and how the alien is just as likely to have predators on it's own homeworld as any species but this is pure speculation.
yet another is speculated by dr orona in another comic where he talks about his theory of alien propagation and how the queens are naturally agressive towards one another. one panel in this comic shows a creature attack the young queen and it's drones resulting in the surviving drones to use the dead bodies of both species to reinforce the hive for the growing queen but again this is speculation.
the only appearance of the alien "homeworld" indicates that the aliens are split into hives that battle between themselves for resources but again as this is in the comics the canon is questionable
They are plastic and resin, with some rubber bits, actually quite a bit of latex. Slathered in KY. If they think about anything it is probably about when craft services is supposed to show up so they can have lunch.
Because that's what the director wants them to be because they are not real
Ash who studied the Xenomorph closely stated it had structural perfection (meaning it's cells, metabolism etc and made an earlier reference to this about the facehugger). He also said this perfection was matched only by it's hostility, given he thought it was perfect this clearly states it's 100% hostile to other forms of life.
Engineers created them to kill
Conveniently I came at the right time

Baby aliens grow to adult hood in the matter of minutes.
The human is more dangerous then the xenomorph believe it or not,
We have so much intelligence we could make weapons like the nuke and drop it on a hive and destroy it just like that,
In fact even their whole planet! Alone we are weak, but in packs we can take down just about anything, just like ants
Well can I seem to be extremely adaptive they would probably adapt to the radiation.
@@Mahluhkai Adapt? They'd find it a bit hard to adapt after they'd been atomised in a nuclear explosion.

Awesome video, here is a question for food for thought, do xenomorphs feel fear?
I would say, absolutely not. I don't think they care due to the hive mentality
Only one I could see having fear is a Queen, or a lone drone without a hive. Only thing all Xenos(Except runner) truly fear is fire.
Garrett Wilson if only we had somone with a Darth Vader profile saying
I WILL SHOW THEM FEAR.
@@ViralKiller Depends what you're accepting as cannon. If for example you accept Alien Isolation as cannon then Xeno's absolutely fear for their lives when introduced to the business end of a flame thrower and will run their stank asses away in short order, usually whilst screaming it's head off. So it feels pain and fear and has a flight response of its own in order to avoid pain and fear. So they absolutely max out in the pussy department when you're rollin' with flames n shit. They're aggressive because they don't have a mommy when their born. Maternal abandonment causes severe violent and aggressive tendencies later in life.
